Are folks really buying RE9 on PC?

I played through re4 at realease and i dont remember any bad performance.
Ditto. But someone in here is bound to tell you that you didn't, lmao.

Man, I really shouldn't be surprised by people rewarding Capcom for crap behavior toward customers.

They are kind of a shit company to their users and giving them money at launch is really unfortunate.

But to each their own and all that.
I mean, there aren't many games I'm looking forward to, especially these days. This is the first one of the year for me, and I'm not going to just avoid it because of their approach on DRM.

Does it suck? Of course, and they SHOULD change it. But my sky never fell when I played the last more recent RE games on PC like it did for some apparently.

There are no reasons to avoid RE9 as of right now.

For you.

Capcom never implemented dlss4
Their pc games have all had horrible performance (Dragons Dogma II, Monster Hunter Wilds) as of late.

They implement anti consumer DRM a year after release which hampers performance a LOT.

You do you but I don't understand the low standard some pc gamers seem to have. We are sheep after all (gotta consume the next biggest game! No matter the cost!)

Im not. I will not support the DRM crap that they use. I am not going to be punished for buying the game.

When they remove that DRM, I will probably buy it.

assuming it is actually good.

You can use old .exe (from nexus) or cracked version. Beauty of PC is in available options.
You can, my point is you shouldnt have to. Capcom shouldnt treat its paying customers like shit

And consumers shouldnt just bend over backwards to play the newest 15 hour game IMO

RE8 was total crap with DRM they used. Pirates had much better version:

There's just no other way around it. After RE9, however, Capcom is on punishment. Sons of bitches.

Denuvo they used for RE4 was ok. Nowhere near crap they used for Village.
I believe it, but like I said, I just remember the experiences not being negatively tampered on my end whatsoever. But maybe I have more patience than others, or I'm not as picky, I don't know. I just remember my experience being more smooth than not as a whole. 🤷‍♂️

Sony fanboys are going to buy it and not be able to leave a text review. LOL
Man I really wish I could have left a banger complaining about something unrelated.
No one is licking anyone's boot, you're just dumb. Hilarious how you choose to ignore a simple fact: all PC gamers can download https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevil42023/mods/5667 and wont have any issues with the curent DRM. RE9 wont have the RE4R drm. Get off your high horse. There are 0 negatives playing on PC.
I have a PC and play games on it but having to do stuff like this is the negative. Some people dont want to spend time fixing shit that that doesn't work or breaks, they just want to play the game.

Those games run like dogshit on consoles as well. Also if you're buying the game on console you're still supporting Capcom lmao. If you wanna be a good Samaritan, then do not purchase any of their games on any platform. That will show them(it wont).
Some people dont want to spend time

Yeah, 1 minute is extremely precious. Some of you are absolute drama queens. Feel free to take the above ground, do not purchase ever Capcom's games if you wanna take a stand. Buying it on console wont change shit, you're just replacing a sale with another.

Denuvo itself is not the big problem for performance, other shitty DRMs Capcom used are to blame (for Village and RE4 performance problems).

I would love for them to drop any DRM, but Denuvo is the only one that actually prevents piracy for first few months. If I was PC publisher I would use it as well, of course with testing and optimizations done.
There were issues with Capcom implementation of Denuvo which caused performance issues from what I remember.

I guess it is what it is but this stuff is reinforcing Capcom's terrible state of their PC releases. Since customers are still buying Capcom has 0 incentive to improve.

Yeah, I feel like if you're against stuff like that you shouldn't be playing on PC period, lmao. The modifications of any form all come with the territory. Whether it be to add something, adjust something, or improve something for the time being.

If anyone wants to speak with their wallet and not buy, that's fine. But there's no reason to attempt to shit on the people that are, that's ridiculous, lol.

Which hopefully something will change. But yeah, the people buying/not buying on GAF really aren't going to make a difference as it's a drop in the bucket. To each their own, if you want to play it, get it. If you don't want to, don't.

Why would I do that when I can enjoy it wherever?

Troubleshooting is never 1 minute. It might take 1 minute for the download but imagine you had to figure out why your performance dropped and then seek out a solution. That's not a 1 minute problem and one most people don't like dealing with in the first place. Nothing drama queen about it. If anything drama queens are those who boycott stuff and dont have fun because of stuff like this. Just do what you enjoy and let others do what they enjoy.

Even with crippling drm my pc will perform better than my ps5 pro.

Probably get it on switch 2 🤣

Yes, it looks nice with all the other games. Not going to skip my favorite franchise because someone else is pissy about Capcom's DRM. I don't care.

This has been a thing for PC gaming for more than 3 decades. What the fuck are you talking about? Troubleshooting IS EXACTLY what we are meant/love to do. If I wanted to just press play, I'd get games on console, but checking my framerates/frametimes, adjusting settings to see what improves or not, is what we've been doing for ages. Patches or DRM's that ruined games also have been a thing for ages. Get over yourself.

This is the first time I'll be playing a Resident Evil title day one on PC. Price played a big part in my decision. Last time I checked, a physical copy on PS5 was around £60, whereas the key I purchased on Loaded was only £40.

Ok? Never said it hasn't been. What the hell is this reply. What was that about drama queens?

I will buy it when it's like 20€ or so. But yes, PC would be my platform of choice. And by the time it's going for 20€, this thing will have been cracked anyway.

Dude, you can say this about every fucking game company on this planet.

If launches with a DRM that fucks the performance, it's a matter of time to have a fan made patch to fix

But if you have a console, it's ok to play on it too

I'm double dipping on launch. PS5 Steelbook and PC version.
But I have no doubt this game will run well on my rig. Had no issues whatsoever with RE4.

Did they even confirm that it will have the same DRM? It will probably run denuvo for awhile. Pretty sure that's the norm for new PC games for at least a few months after release.

After how Capcom patched RE4 with insane DRM significantly lowering performance by almost 50%, and treating paying customers as pirates, why would anyone reward them for how they treat pc gamers?

I was actually pretty excited for the game but Im def skipping it
I totally understand what u saying and completely agree ofc, but on the other hand, u know its first third person perspective new mainline RE entry since RE6, from 2012...
And lets not forget RE series was traditionally 3rd person perspective and we all loved it, only re7 changed that and many of us didnt like it(inluding myself), now we are back to glorious tpp, ofc many veterans in the series are like this:
oh-boy.gif

50yo experienced Leon, same one we loved back in all previous entries?

DRM or not, Resident Evil games are better investments on PC. We have AI upscaled backgrounds for the old games, insane long term fan projects like RE4HD, restored content efforts for RE 1.5 and now RE3 remake.

I was counting on PSVR2 support for Requiem but since that's dead, forget about it.

I´m not buying it at all.
The last 2 Capcom games I bought on PC were DD2 and MH:Wilds.......We all remember how that went.
And since I loathe the performance on consoles, too, which is why I got rid of mine, I´ll simply skip Capcom games from now on until I see a reversal of their "shitty tech held together by bandaids" trend.

Haha how is this even a thread of course.

Capcom recently acknowledged and said they will be focusing on Pc First development.

It will look sharp run like a dream and be a much more polished and adult experience on pc.

On PS5 it will be great no doubt but it's super expensive will lean heavily on temporal upscaling and look like it's upscaled from 480p.
