• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

What is your the most anticipated game as of right now?

Currently my Steam Wishlist has a few I will most likely buy on release day barring any show stopping issues I hear about.
Pragmata
Order of the Sinking Star
Brandly the Badger
Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis
Control Resonant

Literally not one other game I'm interested in this year.

On the plus side it'll be a thrifty 2026.

I am glad the next Tomb Raider is actually leaning into the Classics more.
I hated reboot Lara........
They took a fun femme fatale Indiana Jones and turned her into a nervous wreck with daddy issues and PTSD.... I dunno who in the hell thought it'd be a good idea too to have themes of sexual violence in the first game it's so bizarre and out of place for a Tomb Raider game just felt like they tried to be edgy and gritty above all else.

I guess only criticism/ complaint I have is that I wish they at least gave her some of her old body proportions back, I get she's not a literal cartoon character in these graphics anymore but why does every single woman have to have the exact same proportions.
Especially if they're leaning more into the Classic thing can we have like one woman in a new Western game that has big boobs lmao, just a single one?
It's just so weird how afraid of it that Western devs are nowadays.

At least old outfit and akimbo guns are back.

Final Fantasy VII: Revengance
Final Fantasy XVII (it gives me a heart pains to type this number out)
Half-Life 3 (this number too a little bit)

Previously, my most anticipated games were :

Metroid Prime 4 : ended being an awful Metroid Prime game.
Code Vein II : refunded because the game runs like shit on UE5 on Series X.

Recently a few games were announced though :
Dead or Alive 7 : my most anticipated game !
Dead or Alive 6 Last Round : going to upgrade because I spent so many hours on DoA6 and still play it regularly.
Brigandine : there is a new game coming, looking forward to it.

Yes! Another DOA fan. :) Looking very forward to those as well. Been playing this series since DOA hit the PS1.

Totally agree. The "survivor" trilogy had its moments, but by the third game, the constant whining and trauma-dumping got really exhausting. I miss the Lara who actually enjoyed raiding tombs instead of feeling guilty about every step she took.

The return of the dual pistols is a huge win, but I'm with you on the character models. It's like Western devs are terrified of making a female lead look striking or "larger than life" anymore. Everything has to be grounded to the point of being bland.

Anyway, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is definitely near the top of my list now, alongside Crimson Desert. If they can nail the sense of isolation from the OG games, I'm all in.

The games I'm most looking forward to the most, in order.

1 - Physint (Stealth Kojima's new game)

2- Resident Evil Requiem

3 - Wolverine

4 - The Blood of Dawnwalker

5 - The Witcher 4

6 - Crimson Desert

7 - Total War: Warhammer 40,000

Has to be GTA, it literally does not matter if I hate it or not, I am obligated to buy it like anyone else with a pulse.
Fuck that! I'm not gonna buy a game I know I won't like just because everybody else buying it…..thats fucking waste of money and time.

I rather put money and time on a game I know I'm going to like.

A lot of my overall most anticipated are kind of far away: Haunted Chocolatier will be my overall most anticipated game either until it releases or another mainline Zelda is announced (whichever is first). Also Dragon Quest XII, which technically announced, might as well not be. Persona 6 will also be near the top whenever it's actually revealed.

As for stuff that should actually come out this year, these would be the top at the moment:

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam
The Eternal Life of Goldman
The Adventures of Elliott: The Millennium Tales
Well Dweller
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Remake

I'm starting to get cautiously hype for Total War: Medieval III. Apparently they're making an entire new engine that will finally allow modding on the scale that Medieval II had, again. I'll be so happy if that's the case :].
Also cautiously hype for Gang of Dragon, of course. Hopefully we get more news on that, soon.
The new Jet Set Radio. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is awesome, but if the new Jet Set Radio looks like the teaser they released, that would be amazing.
HYPERFUNK, the sequel to Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.
Dragon Quest XII. Don't know much about this one yet.
Kingdom Hearts 4. Same.
MGS Peace Walker PC port. The best Metal Gear Solid game.
Death Stranding 2 PC port. If it were me I'd have made Death Stranding a lot harder, so the fact that they apparently made this easier makes me less excited, but still.
Beast of Reincarnation.
new Kenna game.
new Pod Racing game.
Darwin's Paradox. I played the demo of this and it was really cute.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan! English patch mod.
Magical Craft. The newest game from Syn Sophia, makers of Style Savvy and Fashion Dreamer. Apparently it's being localised. It'll probably be Nintendo exclusive.
Witchbrook. The Not Harry Potter game that I've been looking forward to for ages is finally coming out this year apparently.

Honestly there are so many that I'm losing track. I'll be back to update this list for my own sake lol.

The Eternal Life of Goldman
Ecco the Dolphin 3 (or whatever it's going to be called)
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse
Replaced
Gears of War: E-Day
RE9

For games I desperately need but will never get:

Half-Life 3
Sonic Mania 2

Most anticipated in order:
Witcher 4
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse
ILL
Star Wars Galactic Racer
GTAVI (but I probably won't bother with it until PC version hits)

I would like to say Intergalactic and Judas and Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic and Star Wars: Eclipse, but not having seen any gameplay, they are just very exciting conceptually. But within 5 seconds of watching gameplay the hype might change.

Forza Horizon 6, Halo remake-remake, and the Star Wars meets -F-Zero racer, (Galactic racer) as I would like to see just how much of a Motorstorm vibe it does have because no-one from that series I think is attached to this project....

As for my most curious title I am looking out for: MGS 4, is a port ready to go out of the box, or will patches be needed...

Marathon - Very optimistic that it might finally be "the" extraction shooter that keeps me coming back.

I'm looking forward to Xenonauts 2 finally being complete so I can play the full campaign.

Outside of that, trying to catch up on playing the bazillion games I already have.

Tbh next FF game, not the KH7Re garbage multi verse, the true next FF game.

And thats it, Gow Remake would make top of my list if SSM wasnt full of mentaly ll ppl.

Final Fantasy VII: Revengance
Final Fantasy XVII (it gives me a heart pains to type this number out)
Half-Life 3 (this number too a little bit)

Final Fantasy XVII... 😬

After seemingly everybody hated XVI, I'm assuming it will be no different.

Final Fantasy has an identity crisis, and never know what to expect.
