Not a fan of the hipster looking main character.

Gameplay bits looked fake but I'm in if they can deliver something satisfying. Looks decent.

When do we get the Silent Hill 2 sequel that explains how James left Silent Hill and created his new identity, Geoff Keighley.

Been looking forward to seeing this from its announcement since I really liked the developer's previous game, Observation. Apparently their first game (Stories Untold) is pretty good too but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet

Edit: Links to the developer's previous games:

Edit2: Wow they're on sale now! They weren't on sale when I originally posted the links. Devolver Digital is jumping in on the hype lol

Wow. Another game where you don't go to Silent Hill but "St. Amelia".

yes I can't wait to go to St Amelia for it to just copy what Silent Hill does.

Watching the Developer Video it looks very Alien Isolation.
Which isn't a bad thing.
But they need to stop with the "In First Person it makes it real" no it fucking doesn't, it actually disconnects you more because it isn't real.

First person SH. Why not. I'm in. Hopefully better than f.
It's funny, not long ago in an SHF thread I had just talked about how I think Condemned combat in a Silent Hill game would solve their identity crisis when it comes to grounded but satisfying combat in an SH game, and then this game is shown.

Good, see yourself from the thread.

On topic: This looks amazing. The art direction and atmosphere is top tier.
We don't do hive minds here mate, don't like peoples opinions, especially something so small as "not feeling it" on what they've shown then maybe you should go to Era 👍

I'm all for a good franchise revival but this is not the way, by releasing the games so close to each other it's going to lead to franchise fatigue therefore, driving it once again to the ground - especially if the quality is reminiscent of Homecoming, downpour, shattered memories and book of memories.

The SH franchise needs something like SH2 remake quality at the very minimum for each game to stay afloat and to not fade - once again - into obscurity, something which Konami hasn't learnt apparently since they're once again outsourcing their best franchises to 3rd party devs/companies (SH, Castlevania etc).

People say "Konami is back" but...they were also "back" during the PS360 era and we all know what happened then.

The dev team talking for transmission sounds very passionate and intelligent on what they are building.

Looks like we got Mr. Sensitive over here... Maybe post something with more substance? It's not a public diary over here.

I said it looks like Silent Hill meets Alien Isolation and that's not necessarily a bad thing, you're the one that jumped on me because I said I wasn't feeling it and I had to leave the thread 🙄

Amazing atmosphere, but I'm reserved about this one. SH f also had great atmosphere in the trailers, and I got burned, one of the few games I regret purchasing.

Interesting choice with the 1st person view, I'm not against it at all, as a matter of fact IMO it's better for pure horror.
But here, if the game is gonna have lots of fights, I can see it as a problem. It would be better if they would let you choose at least for the combat to go in 3rd person.

I'm torn on this, because I agree that a yearly release schedule for Silent Hill is a dumb idea, instead of something like Metal Gear or Contra.

However at the same time, I am glad that Konami isn't letting Silent Hill 2 fans dictate and gatekeep the conversation on every single Silent Hill game anymore, because constantly chasing that SH 2 high is how we ended up with some pandering titles during that same PS360 generation.

I'd rather they just branch out and make good games with the I.P. like they are now, and also like they tried to do with Shattered Memories and SH4. They should leave Silent Hill 2 behind after the remake (and this includes movie adaptations too).

Man, what a stinking pile of shite SH f was, between the terribad combat, the obtuse as fuck puzzles, the absolutely on the nose "story"...and they expected the majority to go through the same terrible shit 4-5 times to get all the endings as to "get" the whole story ? lmao

One of the worst purchases of 2025 for me personally.

Only the gfx were good(ish), besides that though, it's the most 6/10 game I've played in the last few years

Yea you said that after I quoted you..... If you can't see why your perceived dear dairy initial post was called out, then I don't know what to say.

What do you mean by this?

Are you one of those anti-FPS people in general, like how people were complaining about Indy and Cyberpunk? Not talking shit. Genuine question.
