Rumor: Forza Horizon 6 Release Date Leaked - May 15th Early Access - May 19th Retail Release

I just find Horizon far too cluttered, too many events, too many things want your attention each time you play, etc

Call me crazy but If you need to remove the voices and subtitles just to enjoy a game, maybe the developers messed up somewhere.

Some small subset of people enjoy that shit for whatever reason. When you have a choice to mute and turn subtitles off and play based on menu's and you don't take that choice, you are crazy. I did the same thing in The Crew Motorfest (and The Crew 2, in The Crew 1 I skipped all cutscenes (same with any racing game, I don't give 2 shits about story in a racing game ever (nor dialogue or commentary)). Made all those games instantly more enjoyable. I do try to give them a fair shake before skipping/muting, but 99% of the time that's what happens. Just use the menu's. Hell it's like a damn accessibility option if you want to look at it that way.

The best thing they can do is give us two options for progression when you start the game:
1. Open ended gameplay like the previous two Horizons.
2. "Rags to riches" progression, start with nothing, work your way up the ladder, a bit like Horizon 1.

One can only wish.

This has been the longest that we've been without a FH game, right? So for sure there will be new stuff in here, hopefully stuff that truly shakes shit up a little and hopefully significantly better progression. Has this been a big complaint by fans or is it just a small group?

I do hope they keep at least the expeditions, in a map like japan would be freaking awesome.

Hopefully they will expand it, the ruins one were really cool.

Give me all that with some structure and races that mean something. Game rewards me for coming 6th.

Everything just happens. Nothing feels rewarding in the slightest.
But it needs to stay somewhat chill. And the "car collection" reward is not bad...just this fortune wheel mechanic is awful. I adore every car in the game...especially the 70-90's. :messenger_smiling_hearts: Not really missing rewards, but missing a bit more interesting incentives to use all these rewards.

Yeah im not asking for hardcore balls to the wall racing, just a little sense of progression would be nice. It plays really well. Just missing structure.

These games are a 7/10 for me but with some tweeks could be a 9 easy. They are very polished.

Been like almost 5 years since FH5, so I am looking forward to it.

I don't mind the "progression" as it is a pure car collection game and I'd rather have access to tons of cars to play events with than just 2-3. However what they really need to improve is car customization. I hate nothing more than getting/buying a new car, go to tuning and be greeted with no available body parts for a car.

I dont preorder games unless there is a big bonus coming out of it / skins / exclusive cars etc. But man I am really really really very excited about this. probably more than any other game.

I mean, I will still buy GTA6 and enjoy it. But I never even finished GTA5, FH5 ? I finished it 100% and I still login every now and then fur the auction house and collect cars that are no longer available to be purchased.

Hope this date is true, I don't want to wait much longer.

Its Japan. They will completely go nuts on body kit customizing. (at least they should)

You guys crying about the progression are killing me. Just because events are unlocked doesn't mean you are forced to do them. The event structure is wide open and if you want to do nothing but off-road, that is available to you. Nothing but track racing, thats available to you. Nothing but rally, that too is available to you. It was completely open ended and it was what YOU made of it. I, for one, loved getting a mix of lower tier and max tiered reward cars and events. It kept options open on what to do next instead of being funneled into single event styles or a single lower class. The crying never ends. If they would have made a more curated progression system people would have been bitching about how linear it is and how they want more freedom. They can't win. Can't we all just agree that really its the human elements (story, voice acting, wokeness) that actually truly suck?

I think a lot of people, myself included, would like to be forced into other vehicles. It's far too easy to clear most events in these games with a small handful of cars. You could do that easily without the game feeling linear. That's my biggest gripe with the progression system along with the structure feeling long in the tooth. I'll still pick this up because of the locale and force of habit, but I can't say I'm super excited about it either.

I assume we who want better progression are the minority, the kiddies these days want everything unlocked from the beginning, and playing a game to unlock anything is considered "grinding". So even though I'm hopeful they will fix the progression, I am leaning more to the pessimist side.

Yeah me too, just to be safe.

But I really hope it's not just FH5 with better visuals and set in Japan. Some truly new stuff is needed. We'll find out next week what they got.

I wonder whether some of the Fable-driven enhancements to the engine made it into the game. If so, this should elevate the non-racing stuff by orders of magnitude (which I hope).

Game Pass is what ruined this franchise.

I don't believe for a second that Horizon 4 and 5 had heavily dumbed down progression systems and constant cringe dialogue otherwise.

It's so obvious they wanted to cater to a wider audience, particularly with Game Pass and it led to these changes.

Like everyone else has already said, I really hope this isn't the case with Horizon 6 as unlikely as it is.

May......fuck.
Time to clear my schedule.

They better have scanned some new JDM cars.
They have a good roster already but we need moar moar!!!!
And please fix the progression.......or atleast give it a better structure, the more recent titles have been way too open ended that I end up just overwhelmed and kinda doing random shit and forgetting what I was aspiring too.

After this years TAS......no way they fuck up Japan on the customization options, it would be such a misstep to have wack customization after TAS has been kinda lackluster for years then TAS 2026 throws it all at us full wormage.
Its probably too late to get some of the more wild builds in the game, but they have to have to have a JDM Legends collection DLC with built cars and more customization options for whats out there now.

^Yes thats a real street legal car.
The last one looks like a Choro Q car.

I've only played FH5 and despite loving racing games it feels like it's missing something, I think it's a combination of poor progression and having 40 cars thrown at me within about 4/5 hours of game time.

I never thought I'd say this but NFS Unbound was more fun in terms of singleplayer and multiplayer.

My ass, but the structure of the preorder blurb and expansions is exactly the same as previous entries, doesn't sound like they are mixing anything up. Just a hunch.
You may be right but I can't imagine they haven't changed the formula somehow for this one, 5 was getting very seen it all before for me anyway, so hopefully it's mixing it up.

If it ain't broke dont fix it. The last one sold gang busters, Id like to see them mix it up but im 99% certain we will get the same game again but in Japan. I'll buy it for a coast around, but it could be so much more.

Really looking forward to this one. I skipped 5 because after spending so much time in 3&4 I was kind of getting burnt out with the formula. But I think I'll be good this time around and the fact it's i n Japan was immediately sold on the location alone.

I hope they dump the squeaky British voice actors and try to go more in line with the first game's story and progression. Maybe tone down the neon jizz all over everything just a bit.

per Bilbi: The date is accurate, physical release also confirmed at launch. Standard edition is $70.

We can therefore confirm that Forza Horizon 6 will indeed be released on 19 May 2026. We have also identified the different editions that will be available at launch, as follows:

Forza Horizon 6 – Standard Edition: release date 19 May 2026
Forza Horizon 6 – Deluxe Edition: release date 19 May 2026
Forza Horizon 6 – Premium Edition: release date 15 May 2026
Furthermore, according to our information, we can confirm that there will indeed be a physical version of the game available on Xbox Series X. This version will only be available for the Standard Edition of Forza Horizon 6 and will also be released on 19 May 2026.

There are no unpleasant surprises on the price front. Despite the recent increase in the price of certain Xbox games (which was ultimately revised downwards), Forza Horizon 6 will remain at 69.99€, exactly the same as Forza Horizon 5 at launch. However, the price in dollars has risen by $10, bringing the standard edition to $69.99 in the United States.

Finally, pre-orders will open today at around 8 p.m. (French time), including for the physical version, one hour after the start of Xbox Developer_Direct.
