They do video games, time is not infinite neither is money. There is plenty of competition, just say you prefer Xbox instead of this fake narrative.
🤣🤣🤣 I don't though. I'm playing FF16 atm on my ps5 haven't turned on a xbox in months. Xbox and Sony competing leads to better hardware. I stand by that. Your never going to play big budget aaa games on a Nintendo product. They do their own thing. I live that. I beat more Nintendo games than any other platform. But they don't do big graphic aaa.

They fight for your time and money, there is competition with or without Xbox and we can easily argue that Xbox isn't providing much competition since many years now.

Cool, I liked FFXVI.

I still don’t think people understand Microsoft’s long term vision here.

They absolutely will foreclose on PlayStation…one day

That day will come whenever everyone moves completely to the cloud through streaming. Could be decades off, but they’ll wait patiently

In the meantime, they need to make their gaming studios relevant and competitive. They can only do that by going third party

Are you serious?????

Honestly I don't think many people really see how this man, little by little, destroyed the image and value of Xbox.

Xbox is still good, if you have an Xbox you have thousands of games to play, you'll be happy. But the lack of vision, of knowing where they go, of doing something, 6 months after doings its contrary, switching again, and again... That's just ridiculous.

I say it all the time but I just never understood the love for Phil. I don't care that he's a gamer he wasn't delivering on the things I care about.

Is it a good idea to wait this long? By the time Phil is ready to speak there will be 75 new leaks.

It's a 4D PR move. They """""leak,"""""" the historic news to see the public reaction before the actual OFFICIAL CONFERENCE so they know which talking points to really pound and the things that need softened or altered for consumer perception. Obvs.

Lol, I know this is a joke post but there is absolutely no master plan here.

Phil and Nadella got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. They blew multiple billions of daddy MS money on acquisitions with fuck all to show for it (GP subs growth is stagnant) and now the CFO is clamping down essentially forcing them to go third party because their hardware platform having been neglected for a decade is on life support.

Xbox under Spencer failed. Pure and simple. And far more spectacularly than anything cuckold Mattrick did.

Yes…?

How many of us are buying physical copies?

That will eventually happen to consoles. It’ll all be on the cloud…eventually
We'll be underwater before then. Im not sure how good the wifi will be.

Y’all talking about how no competition will hurt the industry…bullshit. If anything it will force devs to come out with better games that people want within the same ecosystem. Dev companies will literally be forced to have the better game.

At the moment this seems ridiculous but you’re right in some ways.

They are trying to carve out the future of the industry and be there first so I don’t think they give a shit about the device people play their games on just that they do and open up the gateway to their services.

Ah yes. The rest of us just can't see their centuries long master plan.

lol people will be crying next week that really want Xbox to exist the console market that they’re not and will be mad about why all these rumors didn’t pan out to be true. We could see the reverse outrage on the other side next week I’m here for it 😂.

Yea because they did soooo well with game pass. This is not a power move, it’s a “we can’t hang anymore” move. You can try to paint the picture however you’d like, but they are scrambling right now, this isn’t a chess play.

Naaah, when SEGA had to stop hardware it was in fact totally unfair. The Dreamcast was AWESOME, their games were awesome (Jet Set Radio, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Soulcalibur, Virtua Fighter, Sonic Adventures, Zombie Revenge, F355, RE Code Veronica, D2, Toy Commander, Power Stone 1&2, MSR, PSO, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5, Samba de Amigo, REZ, Ikaruga, Grandia II, Virtua Tennis 1 & 2, Dead or Alive 2, Berserk, Street 3 Third Strike, Capcom VS SNK2, Marvel VS SNK2, House of the Dead 2... 99% of those being masterpieces, in 2 MOTHER FUCKING YEARS).
I had no idea REZ was on the Dreamcast.

That list is fucking awesome and the Dreamcast is just vastly superior to the last two gens of Xbox combined.

Forecasting new technology/disruption is a nice excuse for current failures, but I wouldn't count on this "vision" coming to fruition and forecasts change on the daily. Any vision, needs to have the fundamentals down - the killer app, something that's desirable, must have. Gamepass, for all intents in purposes, is an online blockbuster without the killer apps and multiple hour downloads/updates. They don't have the fundamentals. If anything, I can see Sony partnering with Netflix (like they do with with studios) and making gamepass obscure someday.
