I think if the continued pursuing vanity projects that are be inconsistent with the rest of the business worlds regulators and potentially risk investment in their country then political scrutiny would increase and they’d find themselves replaced, regardless of political independence

Bruh. "Xbox peeps" are so used to new games being exclusive to Sony first that takes of, "How would you feel if Sony purchased X..." hits about as hard as a marshmallow. Even funnier is when Square is used as the example. SQUARE. You know, the Square that already has exclusives with Sony. Lol.

This is true. Pre PS5 purchase I'd just wait until that game hit PC in 3 months... er... wait no, 6 months. Uh, fuck. No. Um. 1 year? 1 year, right? Um. Fuck. 2 years? What was the equation for Sony releasing their 1st party on PC again?

Going by recent history, two years or less. LOU Part 1 was I think 6 months. And by the looks of it, their upcoming GAAS probably day one.

i now see what you're saying. thats the merger agreement ends on the 18th and they still didn't get clearance from the CMA, therefore they can't close.
i was talking about the CMA issuing the final order on the 18th which would have been a definite block, but the order has been extended to aug 29th to work on a solution.
now what happens we'll have to see what unfolds, because theres chatter that it will all be resolved by then.

Both companies still think it’s possible to close the deal, which would be the largest ever in the video-game industry, before next week’s deadline, the people said.

It'll be a case by case basis for others. Now the cases might tend to lean one way over the other, but still.

Regardless of how the CMA/UK situation plays out, it's good to see the FTC fail (at least so far) with such a poorly put together case that had no real standing in US antitrust law. Will be interesting to see if they continue to waste tax payer money on this or take the L and move on.
