Remember Sony literally just did this with GoW:R & now Spider-Man 2 with no Deluxe Edition with just the Steelbook either.
Makes zero sense as the people who want digital don't want the stuff in the first place hence why they buy digital, and yet they're screwing over the physical buyers and wasting their time with the Digital buyers.
The only people who are gonna buy it is scalpers.

Yeah, this is what I had understood from the beginning, now that I think about it. I remember seeing a note on the collector's edition stating that there was no disk, but obviously it was not the case for the standard edition.

It's also crap when they give out exclusive stuff to people who get the game digitally while physical buyers miss out. It's all a design to force people into digital and hurt those who also still want physical

People go digital for a multitude of reasons that do not include an aversion to owning physical items. In case you ask, "what are these reasons". Convenience, remote play, game sharing, and the want to not have to store 100 games.

Now I agree that MS needs to start using 100Gb & and multidisc packaging. I just didn't agree with your take that "digital customers don't want this kind of stuff".

Standard edition comes with the disc.

Collector's edition comes with a digital code as others have done in the past as well. RDR2, Diablo 4, GoWR, Spider-Man 2, etc..

That is the boiling frog effect that will eventually trickle to normal editions in several years time.

Well it’s awkward when it’s happening with the most expensive version. I don’t personally use physical games anymore but I understand if those who do get annoyed at this stuff. They’re even including a steelbox. Please tell me it’s the soundtrack disc inside at least.
