Just in case someone hasn't seen these. He's been putting these out for 3+ years. He has dozens of videos like this. Try to make it to the end. Rough.

This video is a year old.

Any kind of tl;dr? A family member signed up for star link and brings it camping with us and it’s been pretty great

No. He is Musk enemy #1 and just searches for ways to point out he's a liar. For years now. Its a messy rant but has good nuggets in there. Its my guilty pleasure the last few weeks.

It was prestige... And one of the first line of premier EV mass produced in America. Had nothing to do with ideology.

Exactly.

Buying a Tesla meant that you were helping to save the planet, and it was a status symbol.

The last one is no longer true. It’s now “shameful” to own one because he alienated his main customer base. Also if Elon Musk didn’t own Tesla and therefore would not have to control his messaging, there’s the thought that he would be a climate change denier, which is very possible.

All of this looks bad.

Besides just being cringe as fuck it’s also a bit telling about what kind of 4Chan level bullshittery is getting whispered in his ear

Tweets like this, smelly offices, dirty toilets and not paying their bills just shows what a low class of people he comes from. Proof that you can become a billionare but you cant wash off the cheapness. His father was apparently rich but married his own step daughter and himself just comes across as a crass, sleezy, and unsophisticated dude. Everyone bitches about WASPs, but at least they show some class.

Yeah, it's translated to outside the US also. It's the go to electric vehicle.

Tesla missed or didn't care about mass market. Other manufacturers have caught up and there are plenty of options now.

The average person won't be able to afford a Tesla. This doesn't even include some of the practical issues including weather affecting battery. Also children mining for minerals for raw material (although that's electronics in general).

I still don't understand why Elon wanted to "get his hands dirty" with Twitter. He's rich, he could have hired someone to do whatever he wanted! Guess its narcissism, idk.

This caused my brother to crash his tesla last March. We both left Toronto at the same time. I was driving my trusty $20k honda civic, him his $60k model Y. He had to stop every 1.5 to 2 hours because the temps randomly dropped to below freezing. I ended up a full 1.5 hours ahead of him and just missed some freezing rain. He then crashed while trying to avoid a stalled car on the highway. He had that auto break thing enabled to save on battery life so as soon as he stepped off the gas to avoid the stalled car, the dumb tesla pumped the breaks and the wet road caused his car to spin off the road crashing into trees. He said he was fighting the car's control as much as the slippery road. I wouldnt be surprised if there was something funky going on with tesla crash detection kicking in and causing the crash. My brother is a good driver and shouldve been able to overcome some slippery conditions.

Couldnt get it fixed either. Teslas cant be repaired so they totalled it and offered a new car but that would take 6 months to build so Progressive just gave him a check for $68k since thats what they were going for. He bought a BMW for $45k and never looked back.

I love Musk because of the social media hilarity he brings. It is social media everyone. And tech people love publicly telling the world what’s going on behind closed doors. So Musk might as well roll with it and join in the public laughs.

Although I’m not a fan of ev cars. And that hyperloop thing he tried plugging as the wave of the future I think came to a halt. What a scam that was. And when he badmouthed that Thai rescuer that was absurdly in bad taste.

the way he's running the company is very third world like. We are a first world country where employees deserve to be treated well, and they shouldnt have to sleep in the offices, bring their own toilet paper, work in unsanitary conditions, sit in meetings with breastfeeding women, sleep on the floor, get laid off and then berated as useless hacks. Can these laid off workers even put their twitter work on their resumes now that hes publicly called them lazy and unmotivated?

It's one thing to demand excellence, and another thing altogether to demean and treat everyone like shit. Steve Jobs was a cunt but Apple was not run like this. It has always been rated as one of the best places to work. Their offices are literally in $5 billion compound. I can promise you it doesnt stink.

It's hardly a secret that Tesla was overvalued but it's still weird to see it in this context.

It's hard to quantify how much his Twitter acquisition factors into this. But it's probably cost him way more than 44B at this point in time.

The worst part is this type of stuff is intended specifically for the people with the least amount of critical thought ability. Vague nonsense fir them to nod their head to prepackaged in an easy to digest meme. Designed not to be argued against because it doesn't actually say anything. Allows you to essentially let everyone else fill in the blanks and bear no true accountability of the words

It's another sign Elon Muskva is sinking.

Besides being poor outreach since babies raised by wolves already know what it means in context, it's showing he's detached from reality, thinks little of the capacity of others(maybe an attempt to take advantage of the unsure), and is clinging to dated self-aggrandizing affirmations that indicate he's intellectually stagnant and terminally in a loop from the mind virus inflicted by swallowing the co-opted red-pill meme.

I mean, you'd think he'd realise that quoting from an incredibly progressive movie, made by two subsequent trans-women, would probably undermine his position somewhat, but I guess thinking too deeply into these things isn't how this stuff operates.

OMG Musk shitposted another political meme, let's analyze it to death including who made the movie the meme refers to, what would they say, and what his role would be in that movie!

The way I think of it, when he posts he is holding a press conference for the whole world. He was the richest man in the world. Both twitter and tesla are in flames. He gets up on a stage with a microphone, investors on the edge of their seat waiting for encouraging news, and instead he lights a joint and starts telling everyone they have tiny testicles if they can't break out of the matrix. Then he walks off the stage and his company stock continues to sink.

“Sources familiar with the matter told Electrek that teams at several Tesla facilities are going to some extremes in attempts to cut costs, including skipping on ordering office supplies – even toilet paper.”

Is it some teams or this coming from the top? Anyways, this is the case where stupid savings should be stopped from the top.

See the key thing is not to treat any such revelations as fact on their face, but to treat them as allegations. You want to disprove or confirm, have at it. But to just handwave this off as a "nothingburger" is insane.
Yep. I've included a good example of this "nothingburger" below.

The "Twitter Files" thing is an obvious attempt at disinformation. Just read it yourself guys, it's uncomplicated and brief, almost insultingly lazy attempts at deception. This is why no credible news source has even bothered to cover it.

Under threat of regulation and intervention, the government was telling twitter to remove content based on what it considers misinformation. Why should we accept that the government should decide the truth? Here's a very important point concerning what would have been considered misinformation 20 years ago.

This is from the Wall Street Journal. Here we have a Standford professor who was silenced by Twitter for spreading the "conspiracy theory" that maybe we should target vaccines and other medical aid to those who need it the most, and not shutdown schools. That was considered "misinformation" so radical that it must not ever be allowed to be seen by anyone who doesn't already follow the person suggesting it.

Can you see why many feel that the government encouraging this kind of censorship under threat of regulation is getting uncomfortably close to circumventing the first amendment?

an obvious attempt at disinformation

you're signal boosting the conspiracy theories

It's conspiracy theory nonsense.

The new owner is literally tweeting conspiracy theory

It was an attempt to be responsible as a social media platform.

Why are you so devoted to wanting to be told what you're allowed to say, and someone deciding for you what opinions are right and wrong?

Because they know they can't get a real job with a puppetry degree.
Huh?

That quote is about users leaving Twitter, not employees.

WTF kind of comment is yours anyways? Twitter employees have "puppetry degrees" and working at Twitter isn't a "Real job" lol?

And?

That's just like.. tech companies.

They do that because they have to attract high-valued workers.. who are valued highly because a company successful at leveraging them will make a lot more than they pay them.

They also do that because many expect you to be at the office for 10+ hours.. it's a strategy really pioneered by Microsoft in the 90s.

The fundamental issue for me is that if you accept that these huge social media platforms wield such immense social influence that they are potentially capable of affecting electoral behaviour, then we have a huge problem for democracy without independent oversight.

Essentially as they have the capability to be employed as propaganda networks, they need to be insulated from partisan political control.

They are just too appealing a tool for any group's political arsenal. Everyone knows this, and its why there's been so much kerfuffle over Musk's takeover.

What am I missing here? I had the same perks when working for AWS, apart from the red wine on tap.

Free drinks and snacks, amazing coffee, meditation and prayer rooms, gym and yoga, awesome canteen, sound proof meeting pods, top floor was a relaxing social area with views of the city, and multiple areas with TVs, PS5s, pool tables, etc...

Do people at AWS do not know what they are doing either?

I am not familiar with initial source myself, but it seems well written, and has specific dates and examples. I guess this place did their own independent investigation
I think I'll wait for another outlet to cover it I guess. The Quartering is heavily biased and specifically tailors his videos to fit around the stories he wants to tell.

He also hero worships Musk so him covering a competitor of Twitter also seems a bit fudgy.
