It's definitely b-roll but not sure if it's new or not as I have only seen the gamescom preview and maybe one more video after that? Look like newer stuff to me atleast. The melee hits look a lot more 'chunky' I guess with large blood splats and sometimes even chunks of flesh flying out...looks nice!
IGN guy said the game has actually hard and seeing the death scenes for the protag was inevitable but maybe he was also just bad. Apparently resources are really scarce? So meleeing and waiting for an opening to shoot a weak spot is necessary I guess unless you've built up supplies. All that stuff sounds cool as I thought Dead Space was a bit too easy and resources and ammo were quite abundant.
Also all the footage is 30fps or lower with a lot of motion blur. Would be nice to see some footage from PC or console performance mode.

This reminds me of when the guys who left Activision/infinity Ward were going up against Call of Duty with Titanfall 2. It'll be fun to compare this to Dead Space Remake.

I may of misinterpreted the GameStop preview, it came across as this is a melee combat game first ? I thought it was like Dead Space with a variety of guns whilst improving on the melee stuff .

Well thats why I already decided to have my already preordered physical copy lie around unopened for at least a month, so all those impatient 'day one Beta testers' have time to give dev feedback and the game gets some additional post lauch patches in order to smooth things out.. yeah I inow... it takes some discipine and an extended media blackout for possible spoilers...
