In the center of the game's plot is Akito, who was possessed by the spirit of a demon hunter. Akito uses this to free Tokyo from the evil youkai spirits that have taken over the city. A ghost that has moved into Akito gives him advice, talks about yokai and cheers him up. Akito's enemies include headless schoolgirls with bows and arrows, women with very long arms armed with large scissors, faceless businessmen with umbrellas.

In battle, the main character uses a special technique called Weaving (weaving, weaving). With its help, he inflicts blows on the spirits, parries their attacks and draws the essence from them with a golden thread. Akito will be able to use various elemental attacks, kill spirits with stealth, and use weapons such as archery. The arrows will run out.

There will be boss battles in the game. Damage will not be fixed with numbers and health bars. Instead, the spirits will change appearance: umbrellas will be torn, and so on.

Residents of Tokyo will wander the streets as ghosts. Akito would need to capture them and place them in katashiro paper dolls, then send them out of the city via payphones to restore their human form. You can buy katashiro and replenish other supplies in shops where floating youkai cats trade instead of people.

In general, the Rock, Paper, Shotgun journalist was interested in Ghostwire: Tokyo: the game, in her opinion, looks "cool and very strange, unusual." In spirit, Ghostwire: Tokyo reminded her of 1990s and 2000s action films like Blade.

Out of nowhere this release date :messenger_grinning_sweat: . Sony should have made a SoP last january to announce it (among other things). This game certainly appeals to me, keeping my eyes on it.

This game looks crazy good but I guess the marketing push is really low compared to Deathloop? What happened?

"From the maker of Resident Evil" should be more hype than Arkane. Day1 for me 😁

What time is it?
I'm excited for it but I think I'll just wait for the exclusivity period to expire. Only a year+ to go. :(

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
This one could be great, love how it looks.

About the PC version... Will it come out on March the 24th too? And if so... Which storefront? I've been googling but can't find anything.

The gameplay descriptions are worded oddly, but I've had my eye on this since it was announced and it look interesting.

Not sure if I will get at launch, as I'll probably still be enjoying Elden Ring and GT7.

Go Go Neo Rangers!
Find it odd its getting a release date so soon outta no where. Hopefully its solid.

Shinji Mikami is an action game god so I trust this is gonna have at least some pretty decent action. Also if I remember correctly one of the battle programers from Doom worked on this.
Oh you're right
Ghostwire is primarily an action-adventure game instead of a survival horror game, though the game still retains a couple horror themes and elements. Shinichirō Hara, who worked on the combat of 2016's Doom, joined Tango to help the team craft the game's action-orientated combat. According to him, the game's combat, which was largely inspired by Kuji-kiri and martial arts, enabled the team to "put a lot more movement and personality into the player action as the player's hands are organic extensions of the character".

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
Hoping the PC version goes on Game Pass day one. Nothing really stopping it.
Microsoft Store and "Xbox Store" are basically synonymous.
Sony doesnt want this game on MS store front.
So its absolutely not going to be on Gamepass until the exclusivity ends.

P.S
Nextgen only?
Gonna need some direct feed shots.
Unreal Engine 4 and not utilizing TAAU well enough?

That's a really bold release date IMO. Even ignoring February, March has GT, GTA, and early April has MLB I think.

Wow, that's soon. I need to see an in depth preview of the game. I don't really know what it's about. Sounds like just a few more days to wait for previews though

and I assume that means the game will release on Xbox on March 24, 2023.

Announcing a release date just 1 month before the release with little marketing fanfare doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence in this ..

It certainly does not. Hopefully it's not because the game isn't good. Maybe Sony just feels there's no reason to waste money on marketing this game at this point. And obviously Microsoft won't market the game until the exclusivity lapses and it goes on GP.
