What does look forward to mean?

The issue we who game on Xbox(you don't)have is we are displeased that we have nothing coming out/to look forward to until the end of 2022.

But you are in here(don't know why when you don't game on Xbox) doing damage control.

The delay sucks and hurts the lineup PERIOD!
They delt with Halo delay. Stalker delay wont hurt them, since gamepass exist.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

* Looks at game pass backlog *

I .. wouldn't complain about not having games lol

I bought XSX's for a backlog of games? I could of played those games on a One X if it was a backlog I was interested in.

Backlog doesn't necessarily mean last gen only games lol.

Anyway, we're all bummed out at this delay but it's better the game got delayed than release in a broken state. But to say there's no games to play is just a massive overstatement.

Crossfire is releasing in a few weeks, that's your next Xbox console exclusive.

How without 2022 games?
from november 2020 to july 2021, xbox didnt have any 1st party games. and the only timed exclusive game was the medium.

Xbox guys have gamepass. and gamepass have day1 games. Their 1st exclusive game is this summer redfall. Stalker 2 is just 3-6 month timed exclusive. It wont change their line up.

Exclusive lineups is why I buy different gaming devices. If they didn't matter I wouldn't game on more than one device.
No exclusive games releasing any time soon isn't a massive overstatement.

Well yeah ultimately if the extra time is going to help than it had to be done.
No reason now that multiplayer shouldn't be in at launch(was delayed)

Well crossfire looks like shit but I am hopeful.

you need to look at the long term, when you buy a console. not just the current lineup. We are 1 year and 3 month in to this new console journey now.

Xbox long term lineup is interesting. Same thing for nintendo and playstation. We are glad, its isnt like last gen, when nintendo and playstation were firing all their games.

Well this is kind of ridiculous because the delay is so late. Also why not just delay a year? This will be less than 1 month after Starfield releases. Do they really expect the same level of engagement that they would if it is not coming so soon after people just finish a major RPG? I tend to want something lighter after spending the equivalent of 1-2 work weeks playing a game.

Crossfire X's SP mode, IIRC, isn't part of the GamePass package. That's specifically for the MP.

That said I agree it could be a big hit, guess it depends on how good Smilegate's MP is. If that's really good, then it'll drive more people to buy the SP campaign, which is exclusive to Xbox & PC IIRC.
Oh really? SP is not part of GP? Fuuuuuuuu! Well that stinks. Hopefully MS rectifies that.

I don’t think it’ll be sales related because it was/is day 1 gamepass. Defo needed polishing.

Likely. Day one on gamepass as a next-gen timed-exclusive?

…yeah it’s safe to say they’re probably not too concerned about sales, unless they’re greedy.

You didn't understand my post or something?

Bruh you already replied to the same post earlier on this very page, with less snark even, lol.

Someone's celebrating the weekend a little too early ;)

Wrong. Microsoft’s lineup since launch has been objectively lacking. Sorry but Gears DLC, a months late Flight Sim port (that’s heavily compromised), a multiplatform Kickstarter game, and perhaps some other stuff I’m forgetting because they were so unspectacular, just aren’t cutting it. Pretty much the only noteworthy releases thus far are two cross-gen games (Halo and Forza). That’s not enough for most people which is what Microsoft is justifiably getting dragged for. The Stalker 2 delay pretty much takes all the wind out of their sails for 2022 until Starfield drops and that’s a long ways away.

It's not enough for "most people", yet they've essentially sold close to 12 million units between the S & X so far. Yep, "most people" definitely aren't satisfied, apparently.

Again, if it's your own personal, subjective opinion, then fine. But going by objective measures of quality such as review scores, your opinion is objectively incorrect. As in, in terms of objectivity.

I wonder if the NFTs stuff was more ingrained than some are thinking and they have to rework big parts of the game to take that out? Just a thought...

Around here people only play exclusives or on PC 3090XXX pc.

You have to learn to ignore the bubble, as most of Gafs tastes rarely align with real world gamers.

Why do people keep bringing up cyberpunk when it got almost exactly the same delay from April to december?
Yeah + you can really see who here is a casual Xbox player who knows nothing about the series.

The original STALKER was delayed like 5 to 10 times and released 4 years after its original launch date (I am not exagerating), and still it released totally broken beyond what anyone could imagine (Cyberpunk was in a polished state next to it, believe or not).

I could totally envision a similar state of affair for the second one. This series is like ultimate eurojank.

I think Crossfire X could be a huge hit. It has Remedy working on it, doesn't it? So could be a very compelling single player mode. And then I'm sure it has multiplayer too which could be a lot of fun. I've never played any of the Crossfire games, but I hear they're massive in Asia (I think).
The previews for Crossfire X Campaign weren't good and the people who played the MP beta last year said it played like ass so good luck with that.

Just LOL at anyone in here who thinks Microsoft magically has something planned for Jan-May this year. That isn't how things work. Big games don't just shadow drop like that. It's going to be a repeat of last year where you get nothing from them until at least July. Those assuming Redfall is coming this year may want to shut up before it's the next game delayed. We haven't even seen a single frame of in-game footage from it yet but sure automatically assume it's coming this year. Some people never learn.

I also don't know why people in here are acting like Sony had nothing after Ratchet last year. Not true at all. They had the Director's Cuts for both Death Stranding and Ghost last fall and they had secured other big titles as exclusives too such as Deathloop, Kena, Solar Ash, and Five Night's at Freddy's Security Breach. If you think those games weren't big deals then go look at the PlayStation Store sales charts where most of those did very well.

As for the first half of this year we know Sony has Horizon, GT7, Uncharted Remastered, Moss 2, Forspoken, Ghostwire Tokyo (which should be getting a date soon). Then the second half will likely have God of War or something from Naughty Dog plus potentially PSVR 2 and games for it. Final Fantasy 16 is also still a possibility for this fall as we heard it was supposed to launch in 2021. They aren't in Microsoft's position with nothing in the first half and questionable stuff that hasn't even been shown for the second half. We've at least seen in game footage already for God of War.

STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl was delayed for 4 years (2003 to 2007), so here's that.

Yea, I mean what we saw of Stalker 2 was a monumental jump in fidelity just in animation, and in skill. They have beefed up in terms of talent. It sucks that this Unreal 5 delay is fucking a lot of projects. Surprised no one has covered it or has reached out to unreal team at Epic?

You wonder if this was one of the reasons Bend is not on Unreal engine anymore? Also I believe people like Playground Games use their own engine correct? Also have to wonder what else in Microsoft's lineup is being hit by this issue with finalization of the engine being delayed? Hellblade 2, Perfect Dark, Gears, New IP by Coalition could be all impacted. Only good thing is Bethesda uses their own engine so starfield and anything under Zenimax/Bethesda I don't think will be affected.

Everyone knew it really.

And you can be sure as hell that it will slip to 2023

Also E3 footage was fake as fuck in case you did not know.

Still in the top 3 of my most anticipated announced games for the next gen.
Can you eloborate what you mean with fake E3 footage?

The only thing i see is...shooters, shooters and more shooters. Crossfire is looks ass...easy forgettable, Extraction same shit, STALKER 2 looks great, but how much better will it compared to Metro Exodus? then we have Redfall that looks like to be one of those co-op shooters which we already have a lot of and in my opinion does nothing different than what all these other zombie like co-op shooters are already doing.

I'm only interested in STALKER 2 for the PC and maybe PS5 later down the road.

Animations alone from facial on characters looks way better than anything metro. Same with the lighting itself and physics. So though aesthetically it looks similar because in terms of where it takes place and premise they are similar, the unreal 5 engine they are using is waves above anything 4A games has done engine wise.

It will be on sale for PS by the time the 3 month exclusivity-period runs out anyway lol

hopefully under the umbrella of the MS 12(?) month exclusivity, the devs will get the extra time and funding they need to really polish the game up because this thing looks amazing.

Graphics is just one part of it. Gameplay and story or whatever is something else. Let's see if they can compete with 4A...

MS doesnt own that studio. Same as how Sony doesnt own any of square timed exclusive games. Its up the publisher of that studio, to fix their mess.

noooo starfield and stalker around the same time

One of those is bigger than the other impact wise. I hope Stalker gets its time to shine, because having it come after Starfield could work for it, but also could just be a fart in the wind compared to the impact starfield will have. I feel bad because we at least know from the snippets of gameplay on Stalker how its going to play how well it animates. We have seen a in-engine trailer for starfield and thats it. So in terms of gameplay we dont know? But it's Todd HOWARD so its probably going to slap.

Its ok anyway Metro has been a piss poor attempt at replicating the mood of Stalker in a game more streamlined for people having ADHD. Can't wait to have the king back
