Skyrim Anniversary Edition announced (Nov 11)

This is probably to stop the lawsuit (if its still happening) they are going through with the creatorclub content (possibly) as that was going to stop the MS acquisition wasn't it?

If they add it to this edition this is how they pay the royalties for the creators to keep up with their contractual obligations
That lawsuit was never actually filed, and I don't think it ever made it past the discovery phase.
Also....that's not what any of that was about. The proposed class action lawsuit was because of Creators Club content for Fallout 4 wasn't part of the Season Pass, despite the wording for said Season Pass suggesting that any and all dlc would be included. Creators Club content(for Fallout 4, not sure about Skyrim) was almost entirely done by Bethesda themselves, with a few things contracted out. They weren't just grabbing mods and charging for them without compensation as you are seemingly suggesting.

It's free bruh
Existing owners of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also receive the option to purchase an Anniversary Edition upgrade for their Special Edition version of the game to gain access to all the additional content found in the Anniversary Edition.
Imagine crying about a FREE upgrade.
The free upgrade is for if you buy the last gen versions of the Anniversary edition, not if you already have the special edition.

I thought this game was okay at best when it released on PS360. I couldn't figure why anyone would want to play it during the PS4 years, especially in a post-Witcher 3 world. I sure as hell don't want to play it over a decade later on PS5/Series.

The question is, do they release Skyrim again on the next Xbox before ES6 releases?

Anniversary Edition is not free. It's a paid upgrade.

The Anniversary Edition will include 10 years' worth of content plus some new features. One new feature? A free fishing mechanic. Plus, if you own Skyrim Special Edition, you can upgrade to the Anniversary Edition for free.

I'm actually gonna do my second playthrough (only played in 2011) in VR this November just to feel really nostalgic. I started it a year ago but never found time to commit to it again.

My info comes directly from Bethesda.

After ten years, we can say with certainty that Skyrim’s fans are what make the game shine and its anniversary worth celebrating. This coming November, we can’t wait to revisit a modern classic and share the festivities with you, so don’t miss out!

IGN are wrong.

Guys, guys, it will be a free upgrade for Special Edition owners. Its the same game, but with fishing added, and some creation club points. I doubt Bethesda would dare charge for that, and even if they did it would be what?, a couple of bucks?.

They just had to do it again before ES6. It wouldn’t surprise me if we have yet another right around release. Probably the 15 year anniversary edition built on whatever engine ES6 is using.

They should probably charge 20.00 for the fishing and then 10.00 for the upgrade with no way to just pay 10 for the upgrade, so you have to spend 30.00.

That way most people will be happy and the devs deserve to get paid. 😅

I mean it’s only 10.00 right? 🤷‍♂️

To be fair, i think its fair to do a 10 year anniversary for such a landmark and beloved game.

Uuuuugh.....ill buy it again, and probably put another 300 hours into it. Its still one of my favorite rpg’s of all time. At least it will be more of an upgrade than ghosts of tsushima directors rip off

Free upgrade is fishing, a mode and some quests. It's paid to basically just get the 500+ creation club mods included. It's not cc points. It's 500+ individual mods and quests and things from the community

But the mods are free arent they?, or do you mean Bethesda have handpicked the mods and included them in the package, and we will be paying for their time in doing that?.
