Horizon Forbidden West Delayed to Q1 2022 (broke by Grubb, verified by Schreier)

If Horizon makes 2022 look possibly like that, no doubt GoW or GT will be pushed to 2023.

Wow, I never would've guessed you'd be in here not discussing the topic but shooting console war shots at posters.

Shocked, shocked I tell you.
No reactions to the "PS5 haz no gamezlol" posts that I alluded to as console warring though.

Hardly surprised, and precisely what I was referring to.

Now I'm even more mad about that waste of a collab that Genshin Impact got. Bah. Trash. Don't care about Xgen Horizon too, so... double bah

So much concern over "lack of PS5 exclusives" from the same hypocrites who've been singing the praises of a console that had none from launch till summer.
Microsoft wasn't the company that had an event during Holiday 2020 and lied about Horizon 2, God of War 2, and GT7 being 2021 launch window games and only available on PS5. Sony was dishonest about their game schedule and cross-platform plans, and that's why they are getting flak now.

Nobody said he's always wrong. The dude tweets what other people tell him as a career and can barely take care of his own hygiene. Not sure why you're cucking for someone like that, nothing he says or does will impact you or videogames in general. The release date has nothing to do with Jeff Grubb.
“Cucking for”? Come back when you can speak like a big boy, lil fella.

I have most of them blocked. And I was discussing the topic at hand.

Do the same and talk about the topic. You'll be okay.

Edit: Because you go into every announcement thread and respond to people trolling Xbox? No, you're usually one of the trolls there too. Hypocrite.

I take it you also call MS a liar for delaying Halo Infinite then.

More poor communication from Sony I guess. They literally just had a "showcase" for this game a month ago but didn't mention it. Misleading statements.

If Schreir confirmed it, it's probably true. Not exactly unexpected, or a big deal - but utterly silly they couldn't explain this to people when they showed their single "E3" trailer.

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
Now just make a themed ps5 with its release in a nicer color and make the wait worth it.

No issues with those kind of delays, specially for single player games like Horizon 2. If you think back games like TES, TW3, Cyberpunk or Fallout should've been delay and would made the games much better at launch.

1.) what a load of fucking shit. They have nothing this holiday except deathloop and two ports. They blatantly lied at the reveal event last year when they promised all these games for 2021.

2.) also how the tables have turned. Microsoft had jack shit last holiday, now they have two big games coming and sony have little to nothing. Its like they traded places.

sonys hardware will sell itself, but as a ps5 owner, im dissapointed that ratchet is the last major first party game this year

I agree, but nothing you can do but wait. I'm sure someone will take the console out of your hands.

Real question.

What does the 2021 Holiday lineup look like for PS5 at this point then?

So Kena, (since delayed to September), Deathloop (September 14th for now) and Death Stranging DC are the only AA-AAA games coming out between now and the start of Q1 2022?

That's a bold strategy.

Its not that bold if you think about....

Sony already released two big first party exclusives, R&C and Returnal and historically most 3rd party console games sell more copies on PS than Xbox plus they still have Deathloop and Kena which is also coming to PC but its PlayStation console exclusive for now. So that will cover them until next year.

Remember that Sony is yet to have its summer event. Big things (might not) be coming.

Must be confident to get this out before Sony. I'm bummed but not unexpected tbh.

I mean, we need a little bit more than that really.

No you don't. That's someone that works at Sony confirming the story before the rumor gets out of hand.

Well whatever, I can wait for Horizon 2 for ps4. This fall I have enough to play between Forza, Halo, Back 4 Blood and other game pass games plus Battlefield 2042.

I am drowning in games man.

Damn do you just let Xbox live in your head rent-free like this? Seems like everything turns into an attack on PS from Xbox to you, it's not that serious :pie_roffles:

Hmmmm.

Starting to think a release delay of a year for both consoles might not have been such a bad thing.

Nah, 2020 was good release year for both. They would probably be further behind releasing this year since they'd have to put a lot more resources to the last-gen systems during 2020, and it's also likely Nintendo would've ran right through them momentum-wise with the Switch (I mean they outsold MS and Sony anyway, but still).

Basically a lot of the 2021 releases we're getting would've probably gotten pushed to 2022 if the systems were coming out this fall instead, so in a way I don't think a year-long delay would've meant much besides letting content sit in the pipeline.

That said I do kinda think 10th-gen will get pushed back a tad. Maybe Fall 2027 if MS or Sony are okay with a 6.5 year lifecycle before having a new console cut into that, otherwise I don't see why March 2028 would be off the table. Nintendo released Switch in March and basically had two Christmases that year.
