I think e3 convinced me to get a series x. Stock is still constrained and most of the games I want to play are some ways off. What are the chances well see some new shell colors around holiday 2021? I think go for a whole series x.

I've had a few co-workers come up to myself and my SoT shipmate and ask us about GamePass and how to get a XSX after E3.

Seems like All Access is the best way right now with the stock situation.

It seems a strong showing from Microsoft has made it fairly easy to pick out the people on the board that disregard everything that isn't their favourite conglomerate.

I've seen excuses that don't make much sense and a few people dodging rebuttals or conversations all together. My question is do these people just not like games ?.
Im quite convinced that games isn't what its most important to these people, but that they have more fun in console wars and cheering for their favorite brands. Its almost like an ideology.

The demos for Sable and Tunic are out (among plenty others I didn’t try).

Tunic is amazing and plays just as well as I expected, maybe a bit too difficult.

Sable looks and plays really rough, don’t know if it’s an old demo but it runs sub 30 FPS with plenty of glitches.

Right while she's on the screen. The media loves to hate on Xbox, that's so brazen.

With no shame I'll say that I enjoy a bit of console warring and bantering/debating from a position that I know is somewhat in opposition to the those involved. Unfortunately, some people like to overdo it and derail any thread about a brand that isn't their favorite (unless it is a negative topic), that's the unfortunate thing. It's too bad that mods can't issue temporary bans that are partial, if I cross the line, ban me from Sony threads but still let me participate in Xbox threads (where I wouldn't be so toxic anyway), but that's probably not possible from a technical perspective. Plus, a lot of threads are more in the middle. 🤷‍♂️

I guess when you start from next to nothing it's easier to get those big percentage gains. Look we had 10 users now we have 20, a 100% increase. (okay that was mean). Seriously, good to hear, maybe more of the Japanese content will eventually be available on Xbox, at least digitally.

Wasn’t Gunk a permanent exclusive? Also, Grounded will eventually leave Game Preview.
Pretty sure that tweet was referring to 1st party games, not exclusives. I don't think The Gunk is published by Xbox Game Studios.

I guess Grounded full release could be the Sept one, (bit of a letdown if so, only because in my mind it's a game thats already out.)

The more I think about redfall the happier I am MS bought Bethesda. Clearly they made this game in a new genera because they needed to get better sales than prey did. With cash, they can feel free to make an immersive sim again if they want

Maybe both are Halo, September MP and December campaign?
That would also explain why they didn't show any real new SP footage during E3. Focus the coming months on MP aspect, launch it in September. Then start the marketing campaign for SP for the next 2-3 months.

Expect they said that the game was launching together, this holiday.

That would neither be together, nor holiday

Finally was able to order a Series X, should be delivered tomorrow! Any recommendations for games to blow me away?
Game Pass!

Might be a weird recommendation, but Halo 5. It looks really nice on a 4K TV if you have one. Sea of Thieves, and even Crackdown 3 look very nice on a 4K HDR TV. Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order got a next-gen update recently and it already looked good. Gears 5 Hive Busters DLC is supposed to look really nice.

No Man's Sky
Ori
Cyberpunk 2077

Is Cyberpunk a nice upgrade from One X? I know it isn't upgraded yet, but it run pretty crappy now.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Gears 5 especially Hivebusters (its included with GPU). A Plague Tale is on GP and will get the 4k60 upgrade in 2 weeks. Halo 4 looks really good at 4K. Forza Horizon 4 is beautiful, fun, and runs perfectly. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is 4k60 with FPS Boost enabled. If you've got a 4k120 TV you can play games like New Super Luckys Tale at 4k120 for a beautiful and smooth experience.

I was in the same boat last week, having upgraded from my old 360 warhorse ;)
Having a blast with the Definitive Edition of the first Ori game, RDR 2 (not on GP) and The Falconeer is tickling my Panzer Dragoon itch until I get to reinstalling PD Orta.

Not sure if these are the games that will blow you away as far as new gen bells and whistles go...though RDR2 still stands toe to toe with anything out there but they all look great and have lovely art direction.

It's a very impressive piece of kit that compliments my Nintendo Switch perfectly.
Enjoy!

Speaking of Ori.. am I the only that gets reeeeally annoyed with the constant back-tracking and the lack of directional advice? Maybe I just suck at the game, but I got really annoyed with that and gave up on Will of the Wisps eventually because of that.

It is actually how most 2D metrovinia games are done. They never tell you which way is the correct one.

I have noticed that I spend less time playing "bad" games than I did before Game Pass.

BGP ("Before Game Pass") I sometimes used to buy random games, when there was nothing else to play or just out of curiosity. If the game turned out to be boring, I still had to force myself to play it more, since I had paid for it.

Now, when I want something extra to play, I can try something on GP, ditch it (in case it's unplayable) and find a better game without any buyers remorse or lost money. Talking digital only here, btw.

Of course, I still buy games that aren't on GP, but I can be more selective on what to buy. This arrangement works very well between blockbuster releases.
