Anyone considering an XSX instead of a PS5 after the E3 conference?

Got a Series S with Gamepass for supplemental stuff like indie games, AA games (Dark Alliance, Aragami 2, etc). Its kinda perfect for letting me play games I was interested in but not enough to actually buy like Yakuza or Dragon Quest Builders or Back 4 Blood.

Stuff I want to own physical copies of I'll get on ps5 and switch.

Nope, I already have a PS5 and a PC. If Xbox games weren't on PC though, I'd have bought one in a heartbeat only to play the next Elder Scrolls, Starfield and Fallout. But now I can't find any reason to, so...

If I wanted an XBX I would buy one. It is not about sticking to just 1 platform.

If some must have Xbox exclusive eventually comes along that doesn't run on my PC I would buy one. But Microsoft is just not there yet.

Playstation is already there now with must have exclusives unavailable anywhere else. So it is a must have for me.

Instead of a PS5 is probably the wrong way to put it, but rest assured OP MOST want an Xbox Series X after that conference if they didn't already, and many will in fact be looking to get one now. Some will admit as much, some will have too much pride to admit they've done so. Most gamers who just love games for games won't deprive themselves over console wars. Not everybody has that beast of a PC people always brag about, so most are going to grab an Xbox Series X.

What? 😂😂😂

The reality is the future is bright for gaming on Xbox. PlayStation, well Sony, are great at what they do, but it does seem there is an end of the road for them.... Unless they pull out all the stops. Granted, it still comes down to exclusives because 90% (something around there) of third party content is on both. But the value proposition heavily favors Xbox.

Most of what Microsoft showed are either service games they had already out or games that will come out in late 2022/2023.

Their future looks certainly bright, their present not so much.

Of course, if I didn't own both since I need every good game, and could only go with one at first it would easily be the XSX. Game Pass is just too awesome.

I have an Xbox One and unless I misinterpreted, I should be able to play XSX games through Gamepass and cloud right? I don’t see a reason to get one.

OP, This is a PlayStation land. They wont change their mind, even if the universe is ending.

The old saying is you can lead a horse to water but Phil spencer is in there and he is swimming in gamepass titles

No, I still want to get a ps5 once I can. Maybe I'll get a series x later or get a good pc, but nothing they showed makes me want to get one over a ps5.

i have both... get what you feel you will enjoy more... its kinda a waiting game with Xbox, i havent turned mine on since feb when i finished Hive busters, but iv got a few next gen games on my ps5 and some games from last gen 1st party that im playing with better performance so for me PS5 is better that might change thru the gen when microsofts 1st party starts hitting but that still seems pretty far off and Sony doesnt seem to be slowing down

Definitely, in the next day, even my grandmother wants an Xbox! She can’t wait to use gamepass… she tells me she’s feeling like a 15 year old girl again! Oh and she’s happy for Hallo, “looks more real than reality”she says… can’t wait to own all those noobs in multiplayer.

I’m also thinking of giving my cat a one year sub of gamepass! It’s so amazing! Also my cat is a racer fan, it will have fun playing Forza with his cute little paws

Thank you MS!

No. I'm keeping an eye out on games like Hellblade 2, Starfield and 1 or 2 others but I will need a few more for a XSX purchase. Even then, PS5 will be my primary console

I'm still disappointed that the new Perfect Dark isn't a 3rd person reboot too

I saw a man get shot yesterday and his last words were "renew my Gamepass"

Game Pass for the rest of the year is looking great.
1. Dark Alliance
2. The Ascent
3. Back4Blood
4. Yakuza: Like a Dragon
5. The Evil Within 2
6. Forza Horizon 5
7. Halo: Infinite
8. The Gunk
9. Age of Empires 4
10. Psychonauts 2
11. Flight Simulator
12. Hades
13. Scorn
14. Sable
15. Aragami 2
16. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit

There are more that I'm missing but even these are more than enough.

I'm looking forward to The Ascent, Dark Alliance, Forza Horizon 5, Back4Blood, and Halo: Infinite. Plenty to be excited for this year. The games will keep coming as well, each and every month.

For Starfield release.

I was always gonna buy one because I’m a Bethesda fan.

I was considering getting it earlier and waiting for the Stalker trailer to release. Now that I’ve seen it, it isn’t a must buy yet since the trailer seems kinda sketchy. I want them to show stuff like UI and extended gameplay and not just spliced up clips.

Im a playstation guy, love the games and the platform but this covid next gen hasnt hyped me as much. Even when announced, I really didnt get the XSX appeal with its gamepass. I chose my platform based on the games I have most connection with. Im not gonna lie, I do wish some titles were on PS like Forza Horizon, Gears of War, Flight Simulator etc. And then the E3 show happened and at the end of almost every single trailer: "Day one gamepass". And considering how often I see GP on discounts I was like wait...I can play all these new games, day one if I wanted with a single subscription of under $100 a year (taking advantage of discounted GP). And on the other side I have to think if I want to part with $70 for each game on PS5. Sure, ill miss out on the big exclusives from PS but I never said I wont buy it later as well.

Im at a similar spot where as playstation fan I bought an xbox360 first and then a PS3 when the slim version came out because at the time it was just a better purchase and took awhile for those exclusives to pile up. Now I feel like im in the same spot, that maybe ill go for XSX first and get a PS5Pro or slim later. This time being because I get the appeal of gamepass. Its a financial decision but I also play a shit ton of third parties. And not gonna lie, even Halo Infinite got me interested again. Not to mention I can find XsX way easier than a PS5 atm. Anyone else in a similar boat?

I doubt you'll get a similar answer. It's quite hard for die hards to admit your 'changing sides'. When I said I'll be going from Ps4 to XSX last Nov, I was accused of being a fake MS account to garner support for the release of the console.

That said..... What you said is the exact reason why I switched. Gamepass was amazing value. I'll get a PS5 down the line when the games I want come out and hopefully a smaller revision.

My advice is always just get both.

For me they are two sides of the same coin.

PlayStation first party has the more robust and satisfying single player exclusives.

Xbox has the more robust and satisfying online/social games, alongside Game Pass.

Sometimes I want to play Bloodborne, Horizon, TLoU, Uncharted or Ratchet. Other times I want to spend a couple of hours on Halo, Gears or Sea of Thieves online or drifting around on Forza.

PS5d is £360, Series S is £250. It’s a small cost. Most flagship mobile phones cost between £800 and £1200. 1 season ticket for your football club would cost more than both of these consoles combined, and they’ll last 8 years.

am expecting majority of their lineup will be similar, multiplatform, execpt MS will Gamepass'd them.

so if you just wanna play games, the value proposition is too much to handle
Xbox started slow, while Sony released 3 next gen games, now on the back half Xbox is releasing lots and Sony is going to have thier hand in thier pants.

Very similar to last gen, but in reverse.

Gamepass has great value and I keep thinking that investing some money to buy a Series S probably makes sense if you look at the games that are gonna drop the next years. I will probably wait a little bit longer until I can get my hands on a fairly cheap and used Series S somewhere down this generation.

I wouldn´t call it hands in the pants. Deathloop will soon release. horizon 2 as well

Because you can't lug your PC around everywhere and want options?

There's something to be said for portability and comfort of playing on your couch/TV.

Obviously - if you only want to invest just a PC - yes - obviously. Really depends on how you enjoy playing games.

Over the past year however, I've began to re-evaluate whether or not I want to continue to invest so much in my PC as it's significantly more expensive to upkeep/maintain than a console.

Not to say I won't ever upgrade my PC again - but at these prices - I'll be hanging on to my 2080 until prices drop or it dies and I'm forced to buy a new card.

None of the points you made about PC gaming are valid (aside from the cost).

Lmfao naming an Xbox 1st party as an exclusive.

At the end of the year they will have a close to equal amount of games and Metascore.

Timed exclusives aren't exclusive, no matter how bad you want them to be.

It's owned by Xbox and will actually count towards Microsoft publisher score for 2021.

Even if it doesn't release on Xbox until 2022

Wait until the Xbox boot up happens on your PS splash screen. 🤣

SONY lies about exclusives all day and it takes a keen eye to see through it. Even thier own employees fuck it up regularly.
