So why did Deathloop get pushed back
W3 was/is in Development since 2017/18 by their main team (1/2)I'd rather have a Wolfy 3 tbh....who fucking cares about Indiana Jones in 2021....I guess Microsoft finally want that Uncharted competitor they never had....bit late as Uncharted isn't a thing now, lol.
Not sure if you're joking (apologies if you're lol), but timed exclusivity are almost always like: "X months after release date on [X] platform".Might of had exclusivity deal for year 2020 this way they can launch day and dot on gamepass.
Was/is?......so are we not sure if it will get made?......hope it does,I like Wolfenstein and the current story feels unfinished.W3 was/is in Development since 2017/18 by their main team (1/2)
I do. As someone who loves the movies I'd love to play as indy.I'd rather have a Wolfy 3 tbh....who fucking cares about Indiana Jones in 2021....I guess Microsoft finally want that Uncharted competitor they never had....bit late as Uncharted isn't a thing now, lol.
“Absolutely we’re making a Wolfenstein III,” Hines says.
So all the assets in that trailer few months back... these assets come from thin air?
Of course it's in production
It looked like 3d models. Maybe i am missing somethingIt was one 2D drawing.
Anyway mods merge threads
The Indiana Jones game by MachineGames is now in production

This is a very minor, minor thing, but as a developer, I'm kind of confused when someone says it is in production when it is really in development.
Unless I am totally wrong and they are producing the gold copy version right now?
It's definitely a flat 2d image with a bit of mograph fuckery near the end. Looks hand-drawn, too.It looked like 3d models. Maybe i am missing something
Don't you mean a Tomb Raider clone? Which is in itself an Indiana Jones clone. Not sure what to expect from this. I'm hoping it's more than just a Uncharted clone.

In game development, "production" usually refers to a specific stage of development. I.e. not done and not in some sort of pre-productions stage. They can have assets and concept art and what not and still be not be in production. They can even have playable prototypes too.So all the assets in that trailer few months back... these assets come from thin air?

It has to be third-person. A first-person Indiana Jones game will just not work.Wonder if it will be first person? Very intrigued to see how they handle this. For the adaptation to work they need to be very conservative with the action.

That's like calling The Beatles a Weezer clone. Man, we can see you PlayStation babies from a mile a way.
Yep Indy game needs to be tpp game for sure. It won't work with first person perspective. It has to be third-person. A first-person Indiana Jones game will just not work.
Why is that? We learned during the round table that they helped on everything at Bethesda from Doom Eternal to Skyrim.Machinegames helped Arkane making Deathloop until February? Boy, that doesn’t sound comforting at all
Lol come on can’t talk about Indiana Jones being an Uncharted clone and expect people to not mock you for itI mean in gameplay. Uncharted is a different game to Tomb Raider, especially the older TR games.
PlayStation baby? I do plan to get a PS5, but will be getting a XSX first because of Gamepass and the amazing exclusive games. I've always had both Xbox and PS.
Didn't realise Xbox fanatics could get so defensive. Relax. They're just video games. Nothing to go to war over
It's ironic that you use the word "gameplay", because arguably it's not, but one thing Uncharted did was to set the stage for those semi-interactive blockbuster setpieces - which, yeah, can be not so great in terms of gameplay. As an audiovisual spectacle though, they can be awesome. Which is definitely something that the 2013 reboot heavily borrowed from, I don't see how you could argue otherwise. And did Uncharted even give birth to any new gameplay? I would say it’s Tomb Raider with Gears of War cover shooting.

Why? It’s perfectly normal. Big Studios need help all the time. How many external staff and studios are involved in ND games for example.Machinegames helped Arkane making Deathloop until February? Boy, that doesn’t sound comforting at all

And did Uncharted even give birth to any new gameplay? I would say it’s Tomb Raider with Gears of War cover shooting. Which we then got in Tomb Raider 2013 as well which makes the clone talk even more complicated, especially since Uncharted later had a darkhaired curvy woman in ponytail as the lead in Lost Legacy lol

I get what you’re saying, but as long as the game is great then I would welcome such a game, I wouldn’t mind another type of action adventure though, or an RPG, or platformer. When Uncharted first hit, it was compared to be a mix of TR and Indiana Jones. What I want to see is something completely different than Uncharted with an Indiana Jones skin. That's all I was saying.
Do you develop for hardware/systems or non entertainment use? Because when I hear production in that context I think that the design is done, all HW and SW are fully tested and it is now being built to ship to customers. Of course for movies production means they are making the film and that's basically what term they are using here. This is a very minor, minor thing, but as a developer, I'm kind of confused when someone says it is in production when it is really in development.
