No reason to have a PS5 if everything goes to the PC with better graphics.
Look I have a powerful PC myself but, all PC will be getting is the PS4 games. Anything that is made for the PS5 will not be ported to the PC for many years.
PC's today do not have a custom I/O throughput that can do up to 22 GB/s. Not even close. So PS5 will be necessary to play those games.

Maybe.
No problem, many people can await for the definitive edition.

Yap, just waiting for that 3080Ti or even 3090. Prices are scalpers, Scalpers are prices...

I got my ultrafast 144hz HDR1000 monitor and 16 cores 5950X. :messenger_smiling_hearts:
You don’t need a master racer to play PS games.

They won't.
Relax dude, you’ll still be able to play on the PS5

Of course there is a reason: many people don't/can't pay for a pc as powerful as a PS5.

Also, the experience is more streamlined.

I have a capable PC and I'm still interested in getting a PS5 once they are commonly available.
The same should be applicable to the Xbox, right? Or is it only true when we talk about PS?

I don’t need the game day one. Huge backlog... I would be ok to wait and get the best version later on.

Except I’m not buying an entry level gpu for 400 dollars, fuuuuck that shit. 400 dollars use to get you the best GPU on the market, now it’s literally just enough to start gaming.
Again, is this argument also valid for the Xbox or only when it comes to PS?

I'm sure you don't need 22GB/s to play crossgen games like Horizon 2 and potentially the next GoW too.
22GB/s and the install size of games like R&C is less than 50GB. Yeah, you totally need that speed to read all the game's data in 2 seconds...

Oh don't worry, I have a PC with an RTX 3080. All PS5 exclusives still won't come to PC, zero chance. I'm very relaxed regardless 🙂 🤷‍♂️

If it was about performance, people would have already bought a PC.

Need to run 2 3090s in SLI.

Yes, PS5 is more powerful than the machines the games are made on, or the flagship products of the company that made both consoles.

Exactly. I'm a PC only gamer myself, but honestly, I'm quite scared that the new hardware prices might really kill PC gaming at some point if it stay like this. Not everyone can afford super expensive stuff like this, this is really way above the line for most people, including me.
I bought a GTX 1080 less than a year after its release for 450€, today I couldn' thave anything at all for this price, it would only start around 550€ for a 3060 only, it's just ridiculous.

And even before this price crisis, I never really understood the "no point in buying this console if the game is on PC", and again, I say this as a PC gamer without any consoles. When I was a kid, I couldn't afford a pc, console was more accessible and I didn't even care if the game was on pc or not, I also never cared if what I was playing was an exclusive or not. I know people who play on consoles and have no interest in playing on PC, many people just prefer to get a console without bothering with a PC if they only get their hardware for only gaming.
It really depends about what people want and what they do, but there are a lot of people who will play on consoles just because they want to play on console, not just for the "exclusives".

give me Bloodborne. if they want to put Demons Souls on it i'll buy that too. try the "have fun waiting 2 years to play it". don't worry, i've been waiting 11 years to play Demons Souls so i'm sure another couple years wouldn't matter. And i already played Bloodborne a shit load of times on my PS4 so i'm really in no rush :)

if Sony want to put games out on PC then that's great. gives me less reason to buy a PS5. i don't really mind how long it takes for them to come to PC. if i can save myself a few hundred £ i'll happily wait.

Childish comment since it'll come out years later and they've only released PS4 games. PS5 exclusives like Ratchet & Clank require the ultra fast SSD so until the day every PC has one standard, don't expect many PS5 exclusives on PC.

Its not childish. There are PS games I want, I don't want a PS5 so I'll get some of them whenever they pop up on PC. And they will look better, as Horizon and Days Gone have proved.

Simple fact.

Yeah, but it doesn’t matter when you play the games. I have never understood the idea that games somehow get “stale” if you don’t pre-order or play them at launch. It’s a really odd marketer’s dream.
Whilst I agree, some people just like playing games straight away.

But then I guess if you really wanted to play them at launch you'd get a PS5 so I guess it doesn't matter

Until pc gets up to speed with direct storage and I/o performance you are mostly going to see specific titles. You won't see ratchet, new horizon, Ragnarok on pc for couple years or possibly not at all.

It depends on how much is leveraged on the custom hardware.

Notice all titles we know about coming to pc are previous gen. They were all designed based on older hardware and HDD.

NEW titles like ratchet will take a lot of work for pc because of SSD and I/O is leveraged so much in games level design.

Of course there is. People always say PCs are too complicated for them, they want to sit on their couch and don't think about it. Or just children who can't afford a PC and/or have no parents to help them buy a decent one.

I am a diehard pcmr person but even I can see lots of use cases for consoles.
