According to his LinkedIn post, Frankenstein’s Army Director Richard Raaphorst revealed that one of his characters in the 2013 horror film looks exactly like the one of the creatures in RE Village. Spoiler alert, it is one of the monsters in Heisenberg’s area.

Raaphorst accused CAPCOM for plagiarizing his work and not giving him the credit that he deserves. The two creatures, when set together side by side looks exactly the same. He also clarified that in the 2013 film, he made all of his creatures by himself and has not shared his ideas to others before releasing the film.

Games have been ripping off movies since the 80s. Consider yourself a part of the club now Mr. Raaphorst.
Guess what. There are more movies that were ripping off books than games that were ripping off movies.

And in this case it's more inspiration, and it's just one boss from many many others in the game, there are movies that ripped an entire plots copy pasted from books, but less people know about this because not many people read books compare to those who watch movies.

I mean, i haven't played the game yet but they do seem too much alike. I mean, if the part of the plane are not the same or the outfit of the human parts....but that second pic with the fire makes it look way too familiar.
I usually find these claims to be over reaching, but if the charcater are indeed this close, meaning, more similarities than just the concept of half propeler ahlf human, then yeah, someone either copied or didn't realize that his inspiration was not coming out of thin air.
Sometimes happens you know, some ideas might resurface and not be as original as you though when doing character design.

Guess what. I assume you were not gaming in the 80s. Just go look at the covers of Metal Gear, or Contra on NES. Look at what Metroid pulls from. Heck, Kojima's entire persona is that of being a wannabe director. This has been happening in blatant ways in gaming for decades.

Like it or not, movies have a little more originality to them, and if they do draw from books tend to actually give credit (There Will Be Blood is a good example).

It's funny how silly little jokes on this board, like mine above, just sets some people off "Well, actually! ..."

Give it a rest man (and that was sort of my message to the movie guy who will of course never read this).

Those were inspirations, MGS for example has a lot of movies references of course, but that's it, there are a lot of movies that were more than reference straight up copy paste from books, some of those movies are Steven Spielberg movies as well, and there are even some other cases copy paste like King Lion to Leo, but anyway.

Starting this drama may garner some attention for the filmmaker. I have a feeling that’s the only reason he’s making a fuss.
All he did was make a LinkedIn post pointing out what is pretty blatant, and seems to be asking for credit.

What else is someone supposed to do, as a person who designs characters, when someone rips off their character design?

I'm sure this is the first time anybody other than the film makers ever heard of 'Frankenstein's Army'.
I sat with the scriptwriter of Frankensteins at MoteLX in Lisbon/Portugal. He was eating one of the delicious pizzas Cinema São Jorge is known for. Cool dude. He actually started a conversation due to how embarrassing it was for us, two strangers, to be on the same table. Every other table was full. He was there to promote his new, ghost story.

This kind of argument is cringe, to say the least, when, if not for the captions, half of us would think the images in the OP were from the same source.

I wasn’t saying what the director did was right or wrong, nor was I picking sides.

Uhm wasn't this already very similar/maybe inspired by Peter Jacksons Brain Dead/ Dead Alive?
