Another quality game added to the list.
For somebody on a perm-ban warning for console warring, you sure find a way to turn every hype thread and every bidy of excitement into console warring opportunities.
This thread was going great at the start, everybody hyped for an awesome trailer and the coming State of Play and you've taken every opportunity to turn hype into warring in this thread.
All on a perm-ban warning after your last perm got turned into a 30 day or whatever. The Playstation community here doesn't need that baiting bullshit and you need to grow up.
Nowhere NEAR it bro. Come down a little bit off what you are smoking.
HYPEEEEEE
How is PS5 able to achieve these Pixar level graphics? As somebody who works in the field you do, how was this wizardry achieved?
Lost Legacy is just as long as Uncharted 1. And much better.are we really comparing a remaster and a dlc to full fledged games?
Huh? And why is that?REEEEEEEsetEra already pressuring the devs:
Neoxon "I’m guessing (& hoping) that this will be James Arnold Taylor’s final performance as Ratchet. If so, I’m all in favor of Robbie Daymond replacing him"
Yep, Herman Hurst needs to be replaced by Ted Price.
Since last gen started, insomniac has released
- Sunset Overdrive
- Ratchet remake
- Spiderman
- Spiderman Miles
- Ratchet
ND has released:
- uncharted 4
- Uncharted Lost Legacy
- The Last of Us 2
Guerrilla Games:
- Killzone Shadowfall
- Horizon
Sucker Punch
- Infamous Second Son
- Ghost of Tshushima
SSM
- God of War
It's not even close. I think a lot of that has to do with managing the length of the game. Their open world game was 15-20 hours. Their linear games are 8-10 hours. I want quality over quantity. I have no idea why linear games like TLOU2 and GoW need to be 30 hours long. Why Days Gone, Ghost and Horizon had to be 40 hours long. Even U4 was way too long at 15-20 hours for its single player campaign. Biggest complain for that game was its pacing. Not everyone likes padded games.

Insomniac are awesome, quite a change from Neil Druckmann that got mad when he see people liking ghost of tsushima over tlou2
And people still say they dont see any advantage of ps5s io
Can't wait!!!
Damn
These people should be locked up in a padded cell.REEEEEEEsetEra already pressuring the devs:

Now that's impressive.
I went to the comments. It’s ugly in there (xbox fans explaining how the VA is much better and faster).
The game looks fantastic. I hope this Lombax is non-binary......Not feeling the female lombax. It feels forced.
Game still looks great tho
I'll wait for Game

I let out a loud sigh and just put the controller down when that happened. I was already PISSED at being forced to play as Abby and then they took away all my upgrades and weapons. I can swallow them shoving Abby down my throat because its a creative decision by an artist, but resetting progress midway through the game is something I just cant justify. A good game designer wouldve gone out of his way to make that switch less jarring.Hated that you lose progress with upgrades mid way through the game.
Calm down Bo
Sony is hitting hard with what matters: New, great exclusive games! That's why I bought PS5.
It sees to me that you are being overly defensive about a game you are excited for. Partially, in all likelihood, because the forum has been a bit of a console war as of late, but that's just a guess on my part. There was already a trailer months ago full of gameplay, and this newest one has gameplay in it as well. You're just choosing to focus on the fact that there was also alot of cinematics as well. Plus you already admitted in an earlier comment that you don't care for the series gameplay, so why exactly are you commenting then?
Come back after the 15 minutes of new gameplay on Thursday, and we will all look forward to your deep analysis where you call all of that cinematics as well.
Good god, those snakes need to get over themselvesREEEEEEEsetEra already pressuring the devs:

The curscenes cinematics are in engine and realtime just unplayable but not pre rendered thank you."Gameplay Trailer" - 90% cinematics, with only 10% actual gameplay (much of which is just the character walking)
Still, it looks like it could be a decent game (from the tiny snippets of gameplay revealed so far, anyway). Hopefully it'll live up to the hype and we'll see the famed PS5 SSD I/O system put to good use in the warping mechanic.
That's true. And I can say that based on my contacts but that doesn't mean their output is crap. I thought you was talking about their quality output as opposed to their frequency of output. My bad.i can judge their output. Insomniac released 2 next gen games within 2 ish years after Spider-Man during a pandemic
naughty dog took 4 years for a game that is a pretty straightforward sequel
they’re good, but not nearly as well managed as Insomniac and it shows
One can absolutely be excited without spouting out overzealous claims. Not everything everyone says is "super serious."
Let a man be excited.
Although the occasional game does manage to be compelling on a longer runtime, it becomes proportionally more difficult as the length of the game goes on. Days Gone was way too long, so was TLOU2. And for what? To appease a tiny vocal minority that value game length above all else?Yep, Herman Hurst needs to be replaced by Ted Price.

Man i grew up with a windows 98 pc played games without a 3d card so some games had to run at 3d software mode and mostly at 14fps so growing up with motocross madness and age of empires to this is incredible.Man, kids growing up with games looking like this... blows my mind.
It looks good, but what happened to the female lombax, they made her look uglier in this new trailer (Unless it's just and expression facial thing that make her weird)
One can absolutely be excited without spouting out overzealous claims.
Mate, you need to relax. I personally don't like playing with female protagonists, but you need to know that there are people who do like it whether it's male or female gamer. Also that photo is blurry as fuck, here a screenshots from the video:
First she has a fine ass
And She looks hot for a furry.
They did nothing to her face or visuals since the reveal
But it had actual gameplay. I don't get your point. You can't have a trailer with just the raw gameplay footage from start to beginning. How will you reveal or tease the story points? It's pretty safe to assume that most of the scenes where the characters are having a dialogue (i.e. the majority of the trailer) are cinematics. I know Sony first party likes the whole walking and talking mechanic, but even they don't take it this far, especially for a mascot platformer (I enjoyed the Uncharted and most recent GoW games, so no hate, it's just a standout feature of Sony's more realistic first party games).
I suppose they covered themselves for the misleading video name with this small print though:
Why not just simply call it a "Trailer" instead? Surely we can all agree that a "Gameplay Trailer" should mostly consist of, you know, actual gameplay.
The funny thing is, this might not matter anyway. A lot of fans are feeling deep down that this might be the last R&C game ever. I guess we will find out. If so, aside from 2 games it's been a good run.REEEEEEEsetEra already pressuring the devs:
Neoxon "I’m guessing (& hoping) that this will be James Arnold Taylor’s final performance as Ratchet. If so, I’m all in favor of Robbie Daymond replacing him"
Looks boring with a lot of nonsense on screen.
You can backpeddle now if you'd like, but your posts in this thread are clearly cringeworthy troll posts. I showed you the gameplay trailer from before, and you clearly only wanted to point out that there wasn't enough gameplay in the latest trailer, even after myself and others showed you some from it. It even says there will be 15 minutes of NEW GAMEPLAY on Thursday, so you going to lengths to point out that the new trailer is mostly cinematics and then when you're called on it by several people, play defensive and change your tone.It sees to me that you are being overly defensive about a game you are excited for. Partially, in all likelihood, because the forum has been a bit of a console war as of late, but that's just a guess on my part.
It's fine that there was a trailer months ago with some gameplay, but that is besides the point.
Yes, this one had gameplay as well, as we have established - but how much? I've watched it again to make sure, and the scraps of gameplay thrown in do not justify the title "gameplay trailer".
There is a montage of the character running forward that lasts about 3 seconds, which is the largest bit of gameplay we are treated to in this trailer. The way the trailer music plays the moment up as if we are actually witnessing something is actually pretty hilarious.
Have all the cinematic trailers you want, but if you are going to call something "gameplay trailer" and show 90% cinematics, that is disingenuous, especially when you take into account the main audience for this trailer - people who may not even know exactly when they are witnessing gameplay vs a cinematic.
Yes, I admitted that I don't love the gameplay in this series. So?
We are discussing two separate points, but you're seemingly implying that my feelings on the gameplay itself are informing my feelings on the trailer being called "gameplay trailer", which is inaccurate. Don't confuse the two issues.
And by the way, I do appreciate other aspects of the game, as I said. I played through the last R&C, simply because the world was a joy to be in.
Honestly, it's hard to discuss when you are acting so butthurt over my opinions and resorting to using snark and dumbass emojis. I'm down for the conversation, but not really here for the rest of it. What on earth is the bolded part of your post for? I'll gladly watch the fifteen minutes of actual gameplay, but this just makes you look like a big baby.
Remember, I'm not going to take the game away from you.
That's Pixar quality. Some other screenshots I made from the trailer:
Gameplay with no HUD
Cutscene, literally a movie!
I agree with what you said, the CPUs are gonna be the biggest game changer this generation and its very exciting , just their advancement won't be noticed much on screenshots.Yes folks Ratchet & Clank looks amazing as expected with Insomniac at the helm. Pretty much every Ratchet game has looked amazing for it's respective generation. However, most folks are missing the real takeaway here. If this game is one of the first to look truly "next gen" it's not primarily because of the advancement in graphics but rather the advancement in CPUs (FINALLY)!
Many folks are lauding the visuals because of how dense the environments look which is really an advancement indeed over what we've seen in both the PS3 and PS4 generations. Let's remember folks, we have been embarrassingly stagnant on the CPU side of things since the arrival of the Xbox360/PS3 back in 2006. The Jaguar CPU in the PS4 has less than half of the raw throughput than the Cell processor in the PS3 (and roughly the same as the X360 CPU) !! I've written and discussed this in different forums at length but the PS4 generation was one of the (if not the) smallest advancements in a generation ever, particularly when it comes to the CPU items like world simulation, AI, physics, weather, animation, density etc. This is actually very ironic for the Sony side especially as Ken Kutaragi always primarily invested and emphasized the CPU advancement for each PS generation (PS1=32-bit RISC => PS2 = "Emotion Engine" => PS3 = "Cell Processor").
There are numerous examples of games/franchises that literally remained dormant during the PS4 era (relegated to remasters of older entries) or had top be scaled back during the generation with generally the same scope and gameplay mechanics as the previous generation. There is a reason that Rockstar did not release a new GTA game in the PS4 era (GTAV enhanced only) or that Insomniac didn't release a new Ratchet entry for PS4 (remastered old version). And we saw what happened when games tried to push the envelope in terms of interactivity and simulation: Watch Dogs, AC: Unity, Just Cause 3 to name a few (ran like crap and severely scaled backed in sequels). The jump from GTA III to GTA IV or from Ratchet PS2 to Ratchet FTOD on PS3 seemed like a a very distant memory for most of the past decade.
The real improvement this gen (aside from the SSDs) is having a modern, powerful, highly threaded CPU that is finally a meaningful advancement over what we saw in the PS3 generation. Again, we saw levels of AI, animation, and destructibility in PS3 era games like Motorstorm, Far Cry 2, Killzone 2, and Battlefield 3 that we have literally not seen since (scaled back in sequels). THAT's where the true advancements will be seen and while graphics will improve the difference won't be dramatic even at it's best for this gen. It's the combination of a advanced CPU and ultra fast SSD that will finally deliver gaming experiences we haven't had before. Of course, DualSense, Ray Tracing, and 3D audio are just icing on an already tasty cake
That's Pixar quality.
