What old gaming franchises would you like to see come back?

I kind of would like two versions of Double Dragon. One as the typical beat em up and another as a 3d reimagining. Rhapsody from the ps1 game would be nice.

Legend of Dragoon
Twisted Metal
Parasite Eve
Silent Hill

Forgot about Twisted Metal for a second. Supposedly they might make a show based on it so maybe it comes back.

Silent Hill definitely needs a reboot. Never played the other games.

Suikoden
Ultima
Ulitma underworld
Might and Magic
No one lives forever
Castlevania
Legend of Dragoon
Legend of Legaia (jrpg with fight game mechanics in the battles, yes please!)
Titan Quest
Kotor (not mmo)
Neverwinter Nights
Wing Commander
FreeLancer
Black and White
Undying
Unreal
Legacy of Kain (either soul reaver or blood omen arks)

Off the top of my head, i know there are tons more.

It has to be Max Payne, I love the story and gameplay of 2 and I replayed them many times, but 3's gameplay is somehow even more fun to replay over and over. I must've put 100+ hours into it. Only game where I played the stupidly hard (RNG bullets hitting your head and one-shotting you) difficulty just because I wanted to do everything the game offered.

I really loved the Michael Mann film inspired story/tone and I never once got annoyed by the over the top camera effects, it just felt right to me.

edit - more specific Max Payne 3 love: https://www.neogaf.com/threads/underappreciated-sequels-in-a-game-franchise.1596125/#post-262723226

Bring back proper Paper Mario, son! None of that sticker/paper mache bullshit that we're getting nowadays, I want my turn-based combat with vibrant worlds full of unique and interesting characters!

Origami King was actually somewhat decent, I know, please don't kill me.

Prince of Persia. I know that the remake is in development, but it needs to do well in sales in order for this franchise to be resurrected, and the chances are seem to get lower and lower every single day as many people were not excited about the way the remake looks to the point that the development was allegedly given to a more experienced team, which in itself is not a bad thing.

I'd love to see

Max Payne
Dead to Rights
Jade Empire
Bushido Blade
Double Dragon
Golden Axe

I miss the beat em up games. With how much better hardware is these days. They could make some amazing looking side scrolling beat em up games.
Dino Crisis
Dino Crisis
Dino Crisis
Even more Dino Crisis
Legacy of Kain
Tenchu
Tomba
Syphon Filter

Of all these games, I think with today's gaming environment the ones who could do the most would be Dino Crisis ( Capcom is reviving survival horror's fire, finally) and especially, and pretty surprisingly Tomba, in the right hands could blast the world for sure

I also could never refuse a modern Ready2rumble, bloody roar, Wwe Day of Reckoning ( 2 was the best wrestling game ever with Smackdown vs raw 2004-05-06), Tony Hawk's Underground, Fifa Street ( not like the recent one, 100% like the first one, the only great one in the series), nba street, def jam, fight night or knockout kings

I legit almost cried in nostalgy only thinking about how many goodies EA used to have back in the day, less than a shadow remains today sigh

Ok now I'm crying

My parents bought me this as a kid, to try bring my morale up (they knew I liked action / war games a lot) I had just lost a pet of mine, and I was crying 24h a day, could'n eat or sleep

Even with all the sadness in the world, and also crying nonstop while playing it, I loved this game and also replayed it countless times, the stealth under cover level, with nazi disguise in the base is the best stealth I can remember from a game after mgsv, pure suspense, and also sniping at the italian outpost level was awesome

Oh my God, there's actually a second person who knows Blake Stone in this world, I finally found it!

Aliens of Gold is my first fps ever, played it as a 4yo kid lol, love that game so much, also responsible, with Wolfenstein 3d and Duke Nukem 3d, for my eternal love for fps games
Oh, also, Duke Nukem deserves a return, and Viewtiful Joe too

Forgot about Syphon Filter. The old Smackdowns were great. Ready2Rumble was also hilariously fun. Really took me back with that one lol.

Final Fantasy - But like the PSX series. So pre-rendered backgrounds (in 4k) and characters, objects and effects in 3d.

Medal of Honor - Again, like on PSX but improved obviously.

SWAT - I believe there is something in development tho.

Unreal - Why hasn’t this happened yet?

Oh man, sorry to hear that :(

And yeah it truly was a cracking game, one that I played many times too. I re-bought it on Steam and GOD as soon as it was available. The expansion pack was excellent as well, especially the stormy first level.

I'd love a remake, they wouldnt have to change much either.

+1 for this thread: Zool

Someone played it? Loved it as a kid, as well as prehistorik 1-2
Funny you should say Zool, I loved Zool. My father took my airing cupboard door off back then, I thought he was replacing the door but he'd spent a week whilst in downtown at his work hand painting Zool on it. It was brilliant.

It's still in my old room to this day. If I ever have to give the house up it'll come with me.
