It's finally arrived.. My Xbox Series X Box

I've removed all the stupid stuff inside and moved my mother's ashes from a diamond crusted urn into this glorious receptacle.

She can finally rest in peace.

THANK YOU PHIL SPENCER!

An open world game with driving mechanics is the closest thing to a roguelite TPS?
Yeap... 3rd person shooting with platforms and transversal gameplay.
Feels very alike... even the powers to rush in the mid air are similar.

I just watched more Crackdown gameplay and it has a lot of similarities... well the graphics in Crackdown 3 sucks.

People overrated a lot Open World... being Open World or not doesn't affect gameplay... in most games it doesn't make any different at all... they play very similar no matter if Open World or not.

Wow, this 8 minute gameplay demo has interested me in the game in a way no trailer prior has done so. I figured the game was meshing 3rd person shooter with bullet hell SHMUP, but I didn't realise all the cool moves you can do, or just how freaky the enemy designs are.

I'm a believer now. This game has got some potential, for sure.

That was exactly my impression of the game too. Now I'm intrigued to watch the video when I can get some proper free time.
Charming! Everyone got me on ignore or something?! I've had posted a few video links to Returnal before and nobody batted an eyelid but when bigshot Bo posts it becomes the hot topic. That cuts guys, that cuts real deep ... just messing :lollipop_squint_tongue: ... but now I know how much I'm worth here :messenger_poop:

Well that's a take I guess. Do you know how roguelites work? You have to start over when you die. (Also the levels are randomly generated...)

Gameplay isn't just how you control and shoot stuff. And what "platforms" are you talking about here? Crackdown doesn't have platforming. "Traversal gameplay".. you mean, you can move?

How does the packaging feel, at one stage, many months ago it was the most important thing to a user on these forums, god rest his soul. "lollipop_disappointed:

Well, Returnal doesn't have pedestrians which barely exists in CD3. :D And... World in Returnal changes every time, so, shouldn't be tiresome

Both have platforming... you can jump from one platform to another one.
You have transversal gameplay... so you can go to different platforms that are in different heights making it not just horizontal gameplay... you can start from a higher platform and end in the floor that means a transversal travel.

The type of the game.... Rogue-like, procedural generated levels, Open World etc doesn't change the gameplay... it plays the same in any of these... in better words the map doesn't change the actual gameplay that feels very alike.

BTW Crackdown ia described as a platform 3D game... how do you say it doesn't have platforming? It is the core of Crackdown.

Edit - It is not a bad thing in any... Return do looks like it did a better job than Crackdown 3.

X-Fighter....God bless his soul.
Literally lost his shit over the packaging then committed account suicide. Was a fun watch.

Lol. Really? Because of literally packaging?

Well, i hope you know that world changes around when you... die i presume.

Anyway, from description :

"Through relentless roguelike gameplay, you’ll discover that just as the planet changes with every cycle, so do the items at your disposal. Every loop offers new combinations, forcing you to push your boundaries and approach combat with a different strategy each time."

How drastically world changes, we'll see

Flashless at the Golden Globes
I honestly have no idea what Crackdown 3 should have been.

But I absolutely don't want Returnal to be anything like that abortion of a game.
It was supposed to be a physics driven game with 100% destructible environments. It was their power of the cloud showcase which quite frankly looked spectacular in 2015.

Of course, MS must have quickly realized that they cant just spin up 6-10 servers just for one instance of the game and quietly gutted the whole destructive aspect of the game. It's perhaps the biggest downgrade of all time but the game is so awful no one even talks about how they removed that whole power of the cloud aspect of it.

The graphics downgrade was nothing like what we got with TLOU2 and Ghost of Tsushima, they changed the entire look of the game. It was clear that the base xbox one was simply not powerful enough to run those visuals even without any destruction, and that they were showing footage from a fake PC build that entire time.

”Pushing the PS5”
The size of the memory that is available in the XSS is the actual determining point for the entire console generation as gameplay features have to be fitted to the lowest spec.

PlayStation Files Patent For Technology That Lets Spectators Mess With You in VR

The patent's copy talks about how audience members will be able to participate in games while another user is immersed within virtual reality. They will be able to make decisions for the player via "spectator devices," probably mobile phones, in a manner similar to PlayStation's PlayLink technology, used in games like Hidden Agenda and That's You.
