How easy would it be for the government to infiltrate Dead Sec when operatives just go up to random people in the street and say "hey you need some hackin' from Dead Sec guv'nuh?"

This. It's astonishing how little thought and effort went into making the world and the setting believable.

Also, guns blazing into the fucking police station... Like two people come as backup to help. No one cares in this totally suppressive government. Nothing makes sense. It's just a flavor of a setting.

So I see a 50% sale on this game in the PlayStation Store and am wondering if the game is worth it now?

So far I've played Valhalla and Immortals and liked both for different reasons.

I have more than enough game to play, but wondering if the 50% is worth a purchase right now for later on.

I would consider the PC version but it's only 33% off currently in the Ubisoft store.

I find no 60fps on next gen to be unpalatable personally. If they patch it that would change.

Blown away by this game on Series X on the LG CX.

Not even kidding guys, this game has blown me away and I'm obsessed with it.

It's already reached GOAT status for me, one of my favorite games ever.

I had to tear myself away from the game after putting in 8+ hours into it which is not something I do often. And I still wanted to play more!

Is this my GOTG??

Couldn't fucking believe what I was playing the other night. I felt like I was IN that fucking world.

This game damn well better have sold well enough for another sequel. If not I am going to be very disappointed. It is so much deeper and more varied than GTA in gameplay and it has so much more heart.

WDL is probably the best open world game I've ever played, maybe even including BOTW and I'm gay for that game!!

I have very few complaints about WDL and can sing its praises all day.

My main complaints stem from UI clunk and that's basically it. It can also be hard to tell what you're hacking and losing track of things you wanna control/where you are during stealth bit but aside from that it's gravy.

Everything about this game is repulsive. Yes including the graphics. And that handling omfg that handling... what is it about ubi that they can't make at least a serviceable handling and they've done 10 or so open world games already with vehicles? It's not like its their first open world game. And what is with 99/100 of people in this game being old hags or middle eastern or african looking and the game is set in London UK how/why/wtf? Wouldn't have spent $5 on this pos if I knew how bad everything about the game is.

Exposed yourself as a racist with trash opinions. London is one of the more diverse cities on earth. The cars handle well too at least the sporty models.

Fuck no.

Game is fucking amazing. I dunno what kinda crack people are smoking to see anything but.
The intro before you start building your own team was pretty weak but it was also pretty short. A shame if people are basing their opinions off what is essentially a tutorial. The world is alive in a way no other open world has come close to and the gameplay is varied and interesting unlike GTA. Relatable and well written story too with great humor whereas GTA relies on some vary obvious and on the nose satire, profanity filled monologues and playground level jokes.

I actually enjoy playing this game the only reason I'm not playing it as much is because it doesn't support quick resume

Dr.Guru of Peru

played the long game
Picked up this game on Epic Games sale with their $15 instant coupon. Having a lot of fun with it. Probably the most underrated game of last year, and likely one of the best. It's a shame game reviewers don't reward games that try new ideas anymore.

The game is clearly anti establishment, anti authority, and anti lockdown bullshit so I'm positive that's part of the reason it went under the radar.

The game's message is literally anyone could help overthrow totalitarian rule.

Not a popular message these days when everyone is expected to boot lick for COVID.

Disappointed the MP and Co-op got delayed. Overall it was an okay game, but I enjoyed 2 a lot more.

The NPC schedule system is amazing though.

Why did you enjoy 2 more? There is so much more to the combat and exploration in Legion. The story despite having no canonical lead character is also much more cohesive and actually gives you choices.

I am missing some features from 2 like the always available phone (especially when you put the ambient music it was awesome!) and less clunky item selection, other than that I definitely prefer Legion to 2.

Yea what I loved about 2 was hearing the awesome music out of the car,the npc did funnier stuff like the goths at the cemetery dressed as zombies, the random bands playing in the park, npc destroying cars with bats, and getting into fights, and I loved the hillside also,in legion it’s all city

Some things I liked more in 2:
- The hack perk tree/skill unlock system, and some of the hacks like calling gang hits and arrests
- The map - you had city and some forest area, and it had better use of water. Overall was just more fun to play in.
- Being able to play music outside of your car
- Weapon variety and having access to more
- Buying cars and finding secret vehicles. Plus vehicles variety in general.
- Side activities like photo ops and driving people around the city and then you have the vehicle challenges
- The climbing and parkour

I dont understand how after a good first watch dogs, an almost perfect watch dogs 2 they made probably the worst ubisoft game i have ever played the last 10 years. legion sucks so much. like how did they think those driving physics would be anything good?

Neogaf always exaggerating. There are some things that could be Better, but there is still fun to be had. You guys always howling to the moon and shit.( I don't even know what that means but it sounds dramatic)

I'm waiting for a good sale for PC, but so far from this thread:
1) The game is returned right away
2) The game is 10/10

Not making my decision easy >_<;;

I have no idea what game the complainers were playing. My thoughts about it below.

I have to applaud Watch Dogs Legion for the amazing world it has created. The NPC simulation is unreal. Thousands of NPCs that actually have their own back stories, rivalries, schedules, names, and unique perks and they are all playable. They are also nearly all quest givers since you need to help them before they will join your cause. In the Elder Scrolls and Fallout the guards are unnamed but even they are named and recruitable in Legion.

You can fire a recruit and then run into him as a guard in a different area. If you kill someone's uncle or doctor it will affect their opinion of you. It's the only game I've played where the random NPCs actually seem "alive" to me and I go out of my way not to kill them while driving through the city. You will notice they actually do things related to their occupation as you explore the city. Buskers play their instruments, hackers will be accessing computers in restricted areas, artists will be spray painting walls, anarchists will be protesting, etc. There is also random crime in the city with muggings and police brutality happening around corners and in alleys.

Add to that gameplay that is far more complex and innovative than GTA with the choice to play as a hacker, stealth, melee or full out combat and they are all fun and viable and can be mixed and matched to your heart's content. It's also really funny and has a great story that is very applicable to today's society. I love the team I have put together and can't wait to see how they can push this formula forward in the next entry.

It was an okay game that launched just at the right time. A lot of my enjoyment from it was due to being a big open world release after a dearth of new games in 2020. Going back to it now it just feels awful after playing Cyberpunk. The 10/10 people are just trolling, don't take them seriously.

Trolling? Ever hear of having a different opinion? It's the best open world game ever made IMO. The world simulation is second to none and the actual gameplay has so much more variety than GTA or any GTA clone. In GTA you can shoot people in the face and run from the cops and that's about it. In Legion you can hack the whole city infrastructure, other cars and even the police vehicles/drone themselves. On foot there is a robust melee system that makes stealth more interesting since it gives you a chance to defeat enemies alerted to your presence before they can alert their squad. Hacking drones, spider bots, cameras, and the environment is a viable way to play, or go stealth or go Rambo and they all are fun and have different routes through levels.

I think that you found the way the game was meant to be played.

I didn't like WD2 at all but I find this game a lot more interesting just in terms of building up the team, coming up with different ways to approach problems, etc. One review video I watched painted the game as a sort of open world immersive sim, which I can definitely see. It's not a game for everyone but I do appreciate that Ubi tried some new things in a franchise that was drifting along.

This is a fucking James Bond game, a hacker game, an anarchist game, it can be any and all these things. It can feel like Metal Gear, Splinter Cell, and Black Mirror all rolled into one.

This is one of the best games ever made. I'm in awe playing this game. This is a human achievement and I say that with no hyperbole whatsoever. How games have come so far is amazing.

You could almost fool me I'm really there in a real place.

Prob the most immersive game experience I've ever had. I can't put this game down it sucks me in so much, and it's addictive collecting people too.

Looks unbelievable on SX and an LG CX.

It's so much like a playable fucking action movie it's insane. This game is a dream come true for me and a brilliant blend of so many games, movies, and genres. You can even find some sort of light horror elements too.

So good.

You are overselling it. There is no real simulation, unless you count randomized text in that. The melee is ok but too on-rails and very limited, the overall handling of the character is very heavy and cumbersome and the shooting is pretty weak overall. That's to not even get into the vehicle handling which is the worst that's ever been done in a video game that has a budget of more than 3 cheeseburgers, where you have essentially a train on wheel rather than actual cars with individualised steering and handling. Should I go on? What's the point. I liked the game, and if you feel it's great, then good for you, but you're not gonna convince me you're not trolling when you say this is a 10/10, and frankly it's so absurd I cba to even argue it any further than I feel like arguing about the blueness of the sky.
