It can be trying at times... hang in there. This forum is worth it for all the general news that get posted quickly, but a lot of the Sony fans are extremely pretentious and can be downright obnoxious at times. A little fun jest here or there is one thing, but some fans are rabid in their their loyalty.

You have to look at it from a bigger perspective. Microsoft wouldn't be adding a $15 service to Gamepass, at least not on console. They would be bringing an Ubisoft subscription to console, and we all know that subscriptions mean dlc sales and microtransactions.

There's also the other big issue of Gamepass taking other subscription customers. I suspect this is what led to EA coming to Gamepass. You can't compete with it, so you take the benefits of joining.

I'm still not convinced it's happening - especially not with new games, although God knows the latest batch have got cheap fast enough. Its just every Microsoft rumour lately seems to be "This amazing thing is just round the corner", followed by 20 insiders saying "I've kinda heard something a bit like that..."

But it wouldn't be massively farfetched.

There is definitely a Sony slant but I don't think it's anything terrible here (maybe I am not seeing/receiving the brunt of it since I have a Sony-adjacent avatar)

The one thing I do notice that is pretty aggravating is whenever Xbox exclusives are brought up and dozens of people that clearly never played the game come out of the woodwork to roast it. Battletoads and Crackdown 3 being two of the biggest examples I can think of.

I am playing through the campaign right now on XSX, and I will say it is pretty incredible how quickly everything loads. It's mostly very seemless. I don't know that there is necessarily any difference that's impactful enough to warrant another playthrough, but if you're already thinking of playing it again it's a really great place to play it.

So apparently CDPR is really getting sued over CP2077. It kind of makes me sad. Maybe I'm naïve, but I still feel like CDPR are some of the good guys in gaming and I think they tried to make it right by offering blanket no questions asked refunds.

I admit though, I might feel differently if I'd bought the game to play on a base Xbox One. Overall I'm really glad I decided to wait for the Series X version and therefore have no hard feelings towards CDPR.

Speaking of GP library, Tetris Effect pure crack, don't make the same mistake i did .. if you're into these type of gms.

Yes. You can transfer XSX|S titles from the internal storage to an external hard drive for storage but you can't play off of it.

OK, sweet, so I can transfer Gears 1-3, Blue Dragon, Dragon Age 1 & 2, Witcher 2, Ori 1 (plus any of the older Gold stuff) to the external SSD, but I should keep: MCC, Gears 5, Forza 4, Destiny 2, Halo 5, Ori 2 & Phantasy Star2 on the SerX HD because they are Series X updated?


What about Final Fantasy XIII and Lost Odyssey? Should I keep them on the Ser X HD because f the update files?


Do I lose any performance gains (loadign times, etc) booting them from the external SSD rather than the SerX drive?

I don't know the answer, but if it doesn't include the base game, just grab it on Game Pass. It will most likely be there permanently since Xbox now owns Bethesda and XGS games stay on GP forever.

When I first bought the XSX I set up HDMI-CEC and when I turned the console on it turned on my TV, switched the correct input and labeled that input XBOX. Now when I turn the console on it just turns on the TV and doesn't do anything else. Anyone else have a similar experience? Is there a setting I'm missing? My PS5 still switches input and labels it PlayStation 5 for reference.

There was a recent update that totally screwed up HDMI-CEC. I fixed it by rebooting the Xbox and the TV.
