So how is the loot/difficulty/itemization? Witcher combat issues were imo overblown ( not great, but better than in most western/europen action rpgs), but I really hated that MMO-like approach to gating gear, difficulty and quests.
It's mindboggling they decided to go with this in a game based on Pondsmith's PnP. Does anyone even enjoy that type of system?

So, for those of you with older PCs:

I swapped my AMD-based build for an i7 2600 (a Sandy Bridge CPU, from 2011!) and a RX 580 and the game is running mostly fine on Low, with some settings on Medium.

Give it a try.

Hopefully this doesn't move into spoiler territory, but right at the very beginning, did I just not pay attention, but what happened in Frankfurt? I tried to see if I had notes or a shard, but there wasn't any. Am I just supposed to go along and pretend I know what happened?

I'm Corpo by the way. I'm hours into it, and this question has bugged me for a bit.

My impressions from 3 hours in on a PS5.

Bugs wise:

• No noticeable framerate dips
• One soft crash to the home screen when meeting Dex
• Some very minor popin, some of the underside textures of massive bridges/parts of skyscrapers not loading properly
• Jackie sitting in a chair the wrong way around floating.
• one hilarious moment where another car clipped through endlessly crashing whilst I met Dex in his car.

Gameplay wise:

• Deadzones feel slightly weird, at the start of the game if I didn't move the screen when I loaded onto something I'd slowly look up until I moved my stick, after I did that it wouldn't happen again.
• Deadzones in general feel weird, cars take a while to turn, guns feel like butter on sticks so hard to find balance
• Gunplay generally feels great, better than any Fallout that's for sure.
• Eddies seem really hard to come by so far?
• Driving feels like GTA IV in a way, cars are pretty slippery but I don't mind it.
• Stealth feels underbaked, gunfights are much better imo.
• Love the freedom of choice, the Flathead mission bot for me was completely unique to other playthroughs I'd seen due to my choices.
• Need the ability to transfer clothing power to preferred items, I hate the fact the most powerful clothes I have look like shite.

Visuals wise:

• Game doesn't look bad at all on PS5 considering it's a brute force BC job. Resolution is 1080pish but good enough for now, HDR seems really washed out? Still gotta test it on my other telly and monitor though.
• 60fps is a godsend.
• lip syncing is better than I thought it'd be
• Night City is the best open world of all time.

Have you tried the deadzone options? The game actually has an insane amount of control options if you unlock the advanced stuff in the options menu.

Setting aside the visuals for a moment, and man does this game look incredible, I low how dense the world is and is how well written everything is. Reminds me of the Witcher series, not just the characters and random npcs - every description and note and bit of lore you find is written with care. I love that about CDPR games.

I've barely gotten into any of the gameplay systems, though, still just dicking around in the starting areas but I'm getting a lot of Deus Ex vibes and that is most certainly a good thing.

HOLY SHIIIIT! I've been going under the assumption that the elevators and stuff are loading screens which separate off areas like in Fallout or other games but I just found out how dynamic and open the world is, I went off the beaten path while following a quest NPC and up and elevator to the roof of some random building to find some hidden stuff and lore and then fell off the side of the building, assuming I was gonna die from fall damage, and V does this kind of super hero handing onto a smaller building next to it. Quite a big fall so I drop down the side of this building use vents and stuff to break my falls, just incase and I'm on the street again, it the middle of a huge crowd of people all doing their thing. Absolutely mind blowing moment, I'm surprised this game is running at all on the PRO never mind so smoothly and hitch free. They should have given out the pro build to journalists even if they had 1.02 half baked cause this is vastly superior to most of the PC players I've been watching in performance and lack of bugs and glitches. I've only found one T poser, had one game breaking bug and a graphical glitch that I noticed in abut 5 hours of play.

Also, this is seriously overwhelming (in a good way) and on top of that the content and choice just keeps building and building and the dept in customization is more so that some CRPG's or at least on par with some of the deeper ones.

Still just completely mind blown by falling off that building and realizing that whole areas are loaded in and "alive" simultaneously with no tricky barriers gating things off.

Just like Witcher 3, all of the early gear/clothing CDPR's artists design are ass-ball ugly. I remember running around with Geralt in Witcher 3 in a green jester-inspired chest of padded armor, jaunty pirate boots and flare-out pants, with mittens like a toddler. I stopped at one point to look at my character and thought "why is a single piece of any of this gear even in the game?".

They be smoking some powerful funk in the Nordic countries I guess.

Where did the reviewers go? Why are there no reviews for the current gen console versions on Metacritic? Are they waiting it to reach 30 fps?

Okay, fuck it, 3840x1600 is just fucked in this game and I can't put up with it anymore. I will read your guys impressions and wait to see if they fix it.

It's makes sense to the lore and that is the type of clothing described in the books, as for the Witcher 3 it's the cool looking armours you get later in the game and the DLC which seem out of place. Not complaining though.

Cyberpunk has normal clothes, I mean, what do you expect aside from pants, a top, hats and jackets...

Pretty solid experience so far. No crashes at all. I've seen a few minor visual bugs, including a T-posing NPC near the starting area, and the lighting being completely broken when looking into a mirror, but that's about it. The physics seem a bit janky, like it's easy to send things flying just by barely running into them, but it's caused nothing except for some humor.

It's less buggy than OG Skyrim, is what I'm saying. And for something of this magnitude, I'm pretty happy with that.

A bit overwhelmed by all the different upgrade options. I just got my first skill point to spend and can't decide where to spend it. Also a lot of loot just from the first fight.

. . .you're going to need that loot if you want to do any meaningful crafting. I can't imagine crafting if you weren't able to loot most things. Also the loot frequency seems about the same to TW3 to me.

Yea I read the books, even own some supplemental hardcover stuff.

As for CP, I’ll screenshot my character tonight after work - I look silly xD

My arms are glitched out about half the time, floating about a foot above where they should be, probably look like Frankenstein's monster walking around.

So I wanted to keep myself in the dark as much as I could on this one going in and it looks like I've been so dark to the point I didn't realize the PS4/XB1 versions are not in good shape?

Is it really that bad? Wondering if I should return my copy and just wait for the full on new gen version whenever I get a PS5.

I think that this is able to run AT ALL on seven year old tech is pretty damn impressive.

I mean if it looked better on them sure, like RDR2 or TLoU2 level. But it doesn't.

Anyone can turn settings down to get things running on potato PCs.

just its not right that game on consoles takes so much space, because with one language eng steam version full game with all patches is just 62gb , thats all this game takes, rest are languages at least on pc. but you need just one language no ?
My XSX is 59.3gb

What are you playing on? that street is jam packed for me. It's like a mosh pit on PS4 pro.

Good to hear. I suppose nothing happens outside of a one liner if you talk to one of those people ?

Can you follow one of them and look where they go or is their schedule just an illusion ?

By the way, I have the PS5 version but I can't start it because it needs to download the 1.02 patch first. Is there a way to play the game anyway in version 1.01 while the patch is downloading ?
