DF: NBA 2K21 PS5 v Xbox Series X|S

Series S flawless 60fps except for the parametric camera option where there is bigger dips.
Seires X has single frame drops plus bigger dips in parametric camera option.

I just watched that part of the video.. Looks like they got to where they could for launch and pushed it out. Nothing that a patch couldn't remove.

Curry looks more realistic on Xbox. MJ looks like a plastic action figure on both. DF not critiqueing the ps5 version because they’re scared of sonygaf.

The lighting looks different for one so the comparison is not like for like. Its invalid. We don't know what quarter it is or anything. We do know when DF showed them back to back that they looked the same though. But DF are Sony trolls right? Just this year though, not last year when they were xbox trolls, showing the X1X wiping the floor with ps4 pro over and over. They weren't "afraid" of sonyGAF back then right?

Or... The scene is fillrate bound and Series X is struggling more because XSX GPU has 18% less pixel fillrate throughput than PS5 GPU among with triangle rasterization, etc. XSX simply needs a resolution drop through dynamic res scaler here as the processing of final pixel values is dependent on ROPs/pixel fillrate.

Could be. But then then the series S has the same problems with the same camera angle.

Gotta say it though, in all my years of visiting gaming forums, I never heard "fillrate bound". I suppose that each new gen brings new things.. XsX maxed out already at launch. Gonna be the first gen where each succesive year of software gets notably worse instead of better.

You guys taking shots. Remember when Xbox guys were doing it? I know some of it is good fun but be prepared to eat some Crow when XB wins one of these. I just hope it is not Cyberpunk because that is going to give them a ginormous epeen and they will never shut up about it.

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
So on the camera angle that every single person who plays this game uses the XSX is below 60? Noted

Everyone uses the parametric camera?
For what?

Next you are gonna tell me everyone plays COD puts their FOV as low as possible so they can focus on the one target infront of them at any time

Series S seems to do a bit better than Series X because the res is very low 1080p (compared to native 4K). Hence the "GPU related drops" on XSX.
Yeah it doesn't have the same 1fps dip in normal play. But I was talking about the other camera angle

Facts ? U r really delusional it seems. This video was posted a month ago to begin with . If it is to believe it was correct , it is not the case anymore. He mentioned games run on exact same setting .
Why would it not be the case anymore? There hasn’t been some huge update patch on the consoles for graphical fidelity for this game.

Series S....better 60fps than....Series X?? But not PS5...

Riky!!!

Sorry, they are hard to tell apart...

So would Riky say the Series S is pushing the Series X?

We'll see, also with the RDNA2 features I would think within 12 months Series S could be pushing PS5 pretty hard, I wouldn't worry about Series X If I were you it'll be out of sight by then.

I know you were talking about the parametric camera angle. Series X has slightly more inconsistent fps dips than Series S due to it rendering 4x more pixels than S. The X just needs to scale down res below PS5 to clean up those fps drops.

What you don't think that the devs could have removed them? Especially as they are present on both consoles XsX and XsS. Which would imply more of something on their end (the devs) as opposed to "pixel fillrate" No? A bug or a little bit of extra optimisation..

I'm seeing a pattern here. In multiple games now that have the same resolution on both, PS5 performs ever so slightly better. I don't think every game is bugged. In AssCreed when the resolution is similar (1440p) on both, XSX performed worse than PS5. XSX required an aggressive res scaler to clean up those fps dips. Pixel fillrate on XSX: 116 Gpix/s, PS5: 142.7 Gpix/s. As I said, the unit inside the GPU that handles the final pixel values is clearly much faster in PS5. There are other units like the vector ALU and TMUs that are faster in XSX.

Oh wow those color differences are real. And the sweat shader on Curry is far more noticeable on XSX.
It’s called “comparison was made at two different points in the game”. He obviously got footage from the ps5 first, then had to wait on the Xbox for curry to make a similar face so they could be somewhat comparable. It’s not rocket surgery

they run and look exactly the same, except for one exception: the parametric camera option runs locked at 60fps on PlayStation 5, but does drop frames on Series consoles. Thankfully, this is easily avoided by using other camera angles (and the parametric viewpoint isn't actually that great for gameplay).

lol

they are basically the same, no one uses the parametric viewpoint anyway.

Also, it looks more like a bug if it’s only dropping in a certain camera angle.

"Just don't use certain in-game camera angles."?

That reminds me of, "Just sit further away from the TV."
