it runs pretty well on the switch, the menus are inexplicably blurry andand the intros are 30fps and ugly but the actual fighting looks great and is 60fps. No regrets with my purchase

I have a 1 tb card so not sure on your other question. It’s probably the biggest game I have.

Mario + rabbids - just found this and was highly amused:

Had to use someone’s Twitch as I have no idea how to get pictures off a Switch into my phone.

Yep, and you get the benefit of spamming/using Twitter, while contributing nothing to it. Lol.

It was such a fun, lovely, well-done little game, even if it had a few flaws.

I legit want a Let's Go Johto! game. I agree that it had its flaws and that it can be seen as a kind of "Pokemon Lite" in a sense. But for me, it's a perfect combination of "pick up and play", quality of life improvements and I legit like the catching mechanics and also the more significant split between wild encounters and trainer battles.

I always used the Pokeball. I miss that silly, Wii-like fun so much.

I think it was just a really good fusion between an update of a classic game that maybe understood the fundamental appeal of Pokemon better than the modern games, and really fun overtures to the Let’s Go audience, that kind of made the game more enjoyable in general.

Unlike Sword and Shield, top-down played better to Gamefreak’s graphical strengths too. The game is really pretty and inviting, in this kind of nostalgic, rural country way. Just a quick search reminds me of that.

Yeah, I also agree that the perspective helps in making Let's Go look prettier than Sword and Shield. I also think the color palette they've chosen to go with fits Pokemon more than what they have used in recent mainline Pokemon games.
But yeah, you summarized it very well: It's just fun and it feels like they've captured the essence/spirit of the old Red/Blue/Yellow games very well.

I have to admit that if they hadn't put out a demo, I would've probably never tried it because it got blasted to hell and back by all the "fans". Thing is though, so got Sword and Shield (mainly for the lack of Pokemon, but still...). But Sword and Shield did nothing for me. In fact, I dropped Sword after a couple of hours. With Let's Go Eevee, I not only finished it but I also managed to catch every Pokemon that the version had to offer and it was just fun.

Edit: I think I’m going to play BotW and complete all the Shrines since I beat Paper Mario: The Origami King which was my main single player game. Going to delve into the game much deeper and enjoy every detail to see what’s there. The amount of detail and content is astounding...I like looking at the names of locations on the map a lot too. To see if any connection from a past game exists
Kinda like saying a splinter is better than a papercut. In this instance I'd take the papercut.
Is Shield/Sword good? I would take a splinter over a paper cut ten times out of ten also. Maybe it’s because of Steve-O lol

Depends really. If you don't really play Pokémon I'm sure it's just fine, but as someone who already played the rest I dropped it pretty hard, pretty fast. As usual it's the same game they've been making for decades with even more ripped out of it. Let's Go was even worse for that, but that was the intention with that one, so it gets a pass.

Just play SoulSilver or HeartGold, it's never gotten better than those.

Damn, they went that same route again? I had thought all through the hype of waiting for it before its release that Swords/Shield would be a phenomenal entry back to the roots of Pokémon Blue/Red/Yellow. I’m surprised they wouldn’t take advantage of this opportunity and make it an unforgettable entry. Why do you think Gamefreak decided to skate through development again? A couple friends of mine play the games religiously but personally, I have only beaten Blue back in like 2001

Honestly, it's because they don't need to; Pokémon sells 16,000,000 copies every single iteration without trying, it has such a dedicated fanbase. They won't change up the formula enough to make it interesting because it's all people need in order to pay up each time. It just works.

If you haven't played since RBY, you really should just go to HeartGold or SoulSilver if you can, they're snappy remakes of Gen 2, which is widely considered the best. The core game is fantastic and there's an enormous post-game if you still want more. Like I said, I've completed everything up to Let's Go and Sword/Shield and stopped there, they're just not going to get better.

Edit: actually, honestly, if you haven't played any since the originals, Sword/Shield will probably be quite fun. They've done a LOT of quality-of-life improvements over the years, it's just that with those improvements they've also ripped out some of the stuff that longtime Pokémon fans got used to.

Well, for me personally, it's more like saying getting a massage (Let's Go) is better than getting beaten up by some sketchy dudes (Sword/Shield). But I understand that both games aren't really favored by most fans. But I am also a guy who keeps saying that GameFreak should stop adding more and more Pokemon with each new game.

It's fine. Not nearly bad enough for the reaction it gets.
They clearly need more experience making console level games though.

A soundbar is fine compared to most tv speakers. If you ever want to upgrade just ask.

Post team.

The problem I have with the sound bar is the sub woofer always seems to cut in and out. I read that it might be because it's interfering with the modem thats near it. But i really have no where else to put the modem.

Bluetooth is finicky, sounds like the problem might be the sub. Does it have any settings you can toggle? (on/off/auto) Try taking it off auto see if it works better. How would a modem affect BT though? Is it a 2 in 1 modem and router? Can you disable 2.4 GHz and use only 5 GHz to see if that fixes your issue? My phone does this with my receiver but that's cause my phone has crap BT, plugging things directly is always the best.

Bruh, don't use a soundbar. First you get tinny sound, then you're out there blowing old men for pocket change and Werther's Originals. Worst time of my life.

Real chads use real speakers and definitely only kiss girls ever

What sub is that

It's good. They primarily do sealed subs, which sound accurate and don't have the boomy bass issue you get with ported subs. I do want to swap it out for a sealed sub from Legacy at some point (which is who made the speaker to the left of the sub), but the F15 is definitely the best sub I've owned.
I thought that tower was a MartinLogan lol.

I paid good money for this Dynex!

Incidentally, these replaced a pair of Martin Logan speakers. Electrostatic speakers do some things well, but there are sooooo many drawbacks. I really didn't like them after the novelty wore off. Their more conventional designs aren't particularly good, and frankly, ML's stuff is all overpriced.

I really wish I’d give Mario + Rabbids a proper go sooner. It’s brilliant. It’s remarkable how many games from genres I don’t normally get on with are done so well on the Switch that I can become a complete convert.

I felt the same way when I started playing it. It's one of my favourite Switch games but definitely gets pretty hard later on. Maybe it's because I haven't really played any games in that genre before.

I was on mobile earlier. Looking at your picture now. Those Legacys are incredibly nice speakers. What kind of receiver are you running them through?

...I already have too many expensive hobbies. I really don't need to be looking at these.

Nothing too fancy. Emotiva XPA-2 amp going through a Marantz SR6011 receiver. I do want to ditch the Emotiva, too. Legacy (notice their name coming up a lot?) has a Class D amp that came out earlier this year that's stupid powerful, and I was going to get the 5 channel one for when I finally add in center and rear speakers again.

“Nothing too fancy”...higher end amp and receiver. lol

Very nice setup. Certainly higher end than anything I’ve considered. Going to match the center to your legacy L-R?

Yeah. I’m going to use a pair of the studio hd bookshelf speakers for the rears, and probably the smaller center speaker (which is still like a foot and a half wide). Won’t be doing it until I move in probably like 4-5 months. I’ve already got a pair of the Studio HDs as my computer speakers (with a Rythmik f12 as the sub) and they’ve been fantastic.

There’s already a big jump from world 1 to 2 - I suspect that I may need to get more upgrades first!

I Inanilmaz - just one speaker I’m afraid.
