Hey guys, for the folks who want to use an AV Receiver between their console(s) and TV. There is some important information:
There is a hardware bug (discovered by big German IT site Heise) in an HDMI 2.1 Chip from Panasonic Solutions. This chip is build into AV Receivers of Yamaha, Denon, Marantz and also Sony, Onkyo and Pioneer bought this chip from Panasonic Solutions. Because of this bug the AV Receiver can't pass through a 4K/120 HDR signal (only this is affected) and the bug can't be solved by a firmware update. The delivery of not faulty AV Receiver might end up mid next year at earliest when the chip will be replaced.

Who can read German:

Oof... appreciate the info.

In the market for an entirely new entertainment setup including reciever.

Guess I'll be waiting; or are there receivers out with a better chip?

I literally just bought a Denon AVR-X2700H for its HDMI 2.1, but it looks like all manufacturers are having the issue so I would have been screwed either way. According to Reddit (not sure how legit the info it), but the PS5 shouldn't be affected (hasn't been proven yet, obviously), only Xbox Series X and nVidia cards, hope that is true!

They tested only the XSX and a Nvidia RTX3090, but it is not their fault. They don't have a PS5 yet, so they couldn't test it.

That makes absolutely no sense... how would the PS5 magically work? lol The bug is in the receiver itself.

Yeah, that is why I put that is hasn't been proven yet, obviously because they haven't been able to test it yet, but worst case scenario, the unit is under warranty for 3 years from Denon so they will just have to either replace the board or give me a whole new receiver.

That is my thought too, they don't have the console to test so they obviously don't know, but I will know for sure here in a few weeks, hopefully there is a 4K/120Hz/HDR mode that I can test to see if it works or not. If I can find something to test I will definitely follow up on here if anyone is interested.

I suppose then you would have to connect PS5 to tv and eARC the sound back to reciever out of necessity? True?

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't that the preferred way anyway?

Multiple PS5 Games Are Live On Sony Servers Including Demon’s Souls
Sony has started to add its launch PS5 games on the official Sony servers which also confirms how backgrounds will be displayed on the PS5 for these games.

This includes the launch lineup like Demon’s Souls, Destruction All-Stars, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and more.

Because the plastic lol he trow out the PS5.

Says the guy that says the Pixel 5 has better camera than iPhone 12 and when you open his pics you see the opposite lol
I don't think he said the pixel 5 has a better camera but the previous pixels did have the better camera unanimously and I watch all his content.
