Now that is indeed weird. What the hell.

i got to admit it is very weird. Ray tracing is one of the biggest things about this next generation. i mean it's what everyone loves to talk about.

We all know how important marketing is in selling things, how the heck do they make a mistake like this.

Microsoft loves their buzzwords, it is one hell of an oversight not to have it on the box.

Is it a part of upcoming SpiderMan Movie?!

looks phenomenal

Just realised the lighting fixture Rhino swings on is the Insomniac logo

By the way the console they were tearing down it was for the presentation and it’s obvious not only one console I am sure multiple shots with other parts ,and there was a shot it has PS5 logo and other shot it doesn’t probably just a kit for practices on how to teardown without too many mistaken. It seems like the video broken into different times and put nicely together.

The motherboard is two-sided, don't get confused ;)

This is the back of it:

Haha! I’d be interested in a thread like that as well.

My main choice of headphones are my Sennheiser HD650. I’m sure the audio quality is much higher with them, but they do require some sort of amp to be driven correctly. I’m very excited to see how the Pulse handles 3D audio, and if they do happen to be “tuned” for that like Sony claims.

Great! We'll drag you in that thread then! Assuming I won't be 100% spending my free time playing ;)

The mother board has the GDDR6 modules on the back of the motherboard, and SSD modules are split in half between the two sides as well. It's a way of having dual cooling sides and dissipate heat much more efficiently instead of all of them in one side affecting each other cooling process.

Another intelligent solution from Sony, could be as well a hit to future PS5 Pro stacked/chiplet APU.

Imagine seeing this and not wanting to get a ps5

Graphically I think it is significantly better than the 2018 Spiderman, and it is possible that the Miles Morales PS4 version will not show something close to this level of graphic detail.

This statement makes me think that we will see interesting graphical improvements in PS5 cross-gen first-party games, in addition to the inclusion of Ray Tracing and higher resolution.

One hypothesis for this is due to the fact that the PS4 and PS5 SDKs are similar, making it easier for a game developed for PS5 to be rescheduled for PS4 pipeline. But of course, for that to happen, the PS5 version could not demand much of I/O and CPU, which are more difficult to scale components. But this first wave of next-gen games seems to me to be more GPU bound, which is just the easiest component to scale, especially in the beginning of generation where resources are still being used gradually. What we are seeing from SSDs is only faster static loadings, in which the PS5's brute i/o force is able to accelerate without the engine having to perform so many specific optimizations.

When the second wave of next-gen games arrives, the engines will probably be completely rewritten and I think we will see more CPU bound games, more use of the I/O architecture streaming SSD/RAM, and consequently the PS4 will no longer be able to follow.

In cross-gen third-party games, I think it's a tremendous headache. A Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War handles at least 8 SKUs: Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5 and PC. How to work with so many specific optimizations for each SKU? They will probably be basic optimizations, as we have seen in so many cross-gen games. In a game like Spiderman: Miles Morales, there are 3 SKUs, all with similar SDKs: PS4, PS4 Pro and PS5. In this case it is much easier to seek to extract better capacities from each platform, and to expect cross-gen games that give us a better sample of what the new generation of GPUs of these consoles can offer.

Finally, it seems to me more that the cross-gen issue is due more to the fact that the first wave would not be able to take advantage of all the features of the new generation. And even a Demon’s Souls: Remake built from scratch for the PS5 could perhaps be ported to the PS4 without so much difficulty due to the similarity of the SDKs, and the game being primarily GPU bound.

My official PS4 dock works just like the PS5 one, connecting using the proprietary connections are the bottom of the controller. Looks smart too.

I've pre-ordered the PS5 version, couldn't live without it.

This is the one I am currently using with my PS4, what I am hoping with the PS5 one though because of the near surface connectors you won't have to plug it in like you are docking with the ISS like the PS4 one!

I've bought another controller and the charging station so I don't stop playing or use a wire to charge! I kept using my 2013 controller over 4 others because its analogs were soft and great for shooters. I hate stiffer ones as you do those fine pushes to nail your aim ;). I really hope DualSense is as fine and soft.

Apparently the lastest AMD drivers for the 40 CU PC part Navi22 now limit the gPU clock at 2.8 GHz.

RDNA2 2.8 GHz lol

AS we learn more, nobody gives a crap about 2.23 for a 40 CU part anymore for RDNA2, its meant to be fast.

Also Cerny said Ps5 could of gone higher but they capped it at 2.23 GHz.

Don't worry, I can see a PS5 Pro/Slim clocked at 2.5+ GHz with 5-3nm.

I had to fix the 2013 controllers I have, with new sticks(the original rubber coating was too soft and peeled off).
Also needed to change triggers because of too much force from my side.

I changed one of its rubbers as well, but other than that it's working great. But battery is like 5hr max. The jump from 800 to 1600mAh is a great welcome! And haptic feedback might not consume as much batter as the rumble engines.

So with PS5s finally going out to journalists and youtubers, is it ok to admit that this was the right move? i was told sending it to overrated football players and bad rappers was the best marketing strategy. ;p

Have we? Proper confirmed, not SSR? They showed Minecraft RT ages ago, I really don't understand why that isn't a launch title. It'd be the first thing I'd play launch day.
I missed that. What games have shown running on XSX and with RT? I was looking for that the other day, thinking the same and I couldn't find anything. Gears 5 being redone was the one I THOUGHT was with RT and I think a lot of people thought that...I'm pretty sure I had read that it was. Then we had it confirmed that Gears was NOT RT. So now I'm confused.

They have already shown Minecraft with FULL path traced ray tracing so it's not like the xsx cant do ray tracing.

I think what's happening here is that MS's tools are behind just like they were last gen when CBOAT was here telling everyone how the x1 was going to be a disaster. And he was mostly right, X1 games shipped with 720p modes in several games and a very poor laggy UI.

Oh, right. I wasn't saying the XSX can't do RT or anything like that. Of course, it can! I just haven't seen any demo footage of that, running on XSX just yet. It's all been PC, etc.

I agree, it's probably the development tools or something like that, that is putting MS behind a bit when it comes to the RT. We'll see where everything is in a few weeks. I wouldn't be surprised to see titles like that with or without updates for RT. Either way.

Very "creative" alright. Thank the streamers for all the free marketing they do. Their compensation comes from their own hardwork. Leave them alone.

The free market is good and that`s why game companies let streamers do what they do. It`s benefical to both parties.

That doesn`t mean stadia guy is wrong. Streamers do use intelectual propety for financial gain and the companies can demand a share of those guys.

Just because they can, doesnt mean they should, because as of right now, that would be bad business.
