People are unironically trying to go after Bugsnax graphics?

Lmao the well is shallow
Just like the same people going after Dirt 5 for no other reason than they think it should look better than what it is.

I actually feel bad for the Dirt devs, they never claimed it was breathtaking or out of this world and they’re getting it rough from the gaming community.

Why you ask? Because it was shown on Xbox and didn’t meet the mythical next gen standard that’s been set in people’s minds.

I mean, in less than a month it won't matter anyways. Plus Dirt 5 is already out there. They could test both versions.
Make no mistake, developers are no fans of multiplat comparisons. They put a ton of work in for it to be picked apart and then one fanbase or another to go ballistic

I dont anticipate any dev is putting that out before launch, let alone be the first to do it

Poor xbox fans having to go to bat for a multiplatform game that will look trash on both consoles.

Dirt 2.0 Arguably looks better than Dirt 5.

You know if there putting Bugsnax in with their launch console line up/showcase showing off the machine I don't think its completely unfair to put their graphics under the microscope.

If anyone is too blame for that its more Sony then anyone (No dev is going to turn down that kind of exposure).

Hehe yeah, asking the internet to be respectful. Never gets old. These smaller devs will get so much shit for not making their games 120fps native 4k fully raytraced on the new Uber-Consoles. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Now the real question: when will the videos drop?

Sadly tho, most die-hard console warriors have been permabanned in the recent months, I'd love to see their meltdowns and/or excuses and spins. But adding to what John wrote, I'm actually more impressed with what indie titles have shown so far than the big AAA studios, especially the ones using UE4, we have reached a point where it's basically impossible to distinguish if the game is made by 100 people or just a single person other than its length/content, because when it comes down to visual fidelity, it's all on par, which is really good for us gamers.

We know the real reason it's just because they wanted to attack the Series X.

Completely forgetting a multiplatform title is gonna perform even worse on a weaker hardware. Denial is one hell of a drug.

Or "I don't want to spend 500 dollars to play the same games".
Nobody is entitled to all the games. Until early 2000s I believe multiplatform games were not that widespread.

Gaming is actually a luxury - I can for example afford to throw 3k on PC and never use for anything else rather than Skyrim - some people cannot afford another console.
Anecdotally Gen Z feels to be richer than millenials, so they are more likely to afford more consoles (though they don't need to).

DF is an awesome source that I refer for all technical analysis. Can't wait for their analysis on the PS5, please go easy on the 1000x magnifying glass analysis folks!

It may just be me, but it is somewhat ironic for John to say that he doesn't like cherry picked examples that show games in a bad light to fuel console wars, yet his job cherry picks examples of differing performance/graphics between multiplayer games that then end up fueling console wars.

says GAF is a racist board but still wants to be a part of it...
Why we should be respectful if a game sucks. I don't get John's take there . We should give a pass to some games. No way ! Being indie is not an excuse, games like Resogun were amazing on day 1.

People on this board and others unironically listing Bugsnax as a PS exclusive they’re dying to play.

The absurdity goes both ways. #listwarz and pixel-counting are about to become the most important talking points. Personally, I’m just interested in the multi-platform face offs. I would expect a PS3/ 360 scenario, where the former’s exotic hardware is exploited by in house devs for results better than 3rd party can achieve, but the latter performs better across the broader range of titles.

But we’ll see!

This generation will be very interesting to say the least but we should get the gist of what the limits will be on these consoles pretty quickly. I think the first RT test head-to-head will be WD: Legion.

Actually no we won't because games will start off being modified versions of PS4/Xbox One games & will take some time to be made around having RT hardware & SSDs.
