Rich always bringing Xbox to the picture everytime he thinks Xbox would look favourable.

Poor man was SURPRISED by how BIG the motherboard was...really Rich? More than 95% of all all electronics are designed using ONE motherboard like PS5, its Xbox who opted for Two sheets design. He is just trying to slip in MS complement so hard ... Yeesh 💸💸

Also I see some concerns regarding the soldered SSD on PS5! Ok Rich , I get it that Sony doesn't communicate with you, but why didn't you ask your buddies at microsoft about the same issue since Xbox AND PS5 have soldered SSDs?

Also I love the skiptisim about WiFi6. Lol...really Rich?

Also since he loves to brings Xbox whenever he can notice how he didn't mention them when he talked about:

- SSD raw output (2.4 wont sound impressive compared to PS5 5.5)
- he didn't bring up Xbox when talking about USB ports...we know how Xbox compare in that area..
- he didn't mention Xbox when talking about WiFi6 , instead he was like...not sure we can reach those figures!! WTF man, was it so hard to praise Sony for future proofing threir console?

In the end, his opinion is worthless and the best thing is..Sony thinks that too 🤣
Yea! Watching that video was literally wasted my time. I was hoping more like a technical discussion review but There's nothing new technical knowledge, he just bashing sony and concerning for sony, also keep mentioning the words gigantic, enormous, massive and so much concerning for the size of PS5. I feel like I just watch a typical journalist crying and ranting at sony for not getting free ps5 sent to them, and sony doesn't give a fuck about them.

I wasn't really hyped for Spiderman or anything, but damn do the reflections in the glass look good. It just makes the glass look so right, and seeing people across the street walking around yet also seeing through the glass into the store is so damn impressive.

It looks like the red stripe on his suit is even reflecting things from off screen behind him as well, but I can't tell for sure.

Speculates that the PS5 OS may have its own RAM pool.

This is just non sense there’s no secret ram or secret gpu or unlock cpu that will make PS5 more powerful technically then series x. Right now Sony has the upper hand in the category that matters most they have the better launch games and first party titles and the development pipeline has been great that developers were able to implement things such as ray tracing and in more of their games on their platform then Microsoft even with the better hardware something that Microsoft needs to address.

GOW starts too hard then it gets easier the more you progress.

This is something I hate with a passion for many games.
BoTW is a perfect example. Love it to death, 11/10. But I want games to challenge me more the more I play.

That said you can make BoTW not totally fall apart if you avoid the obvious ways to make it easier like food.

Can you also provide next weeks winning lotto numbers?

Huh!! Wait! What!! I played GOT and even plat it, but no way i didn't notice any tearing because I am sensitive to screen tearing. My TV is Bravia 900F.

Tearing is more obvious on OLED, I remember Linus doing comparisons with LED and slower response time certainly helps.

I'm not sure about tearing but I do know that OLED tends to stutter more than LED tvs in low framerates contents because of very fast pixel response time. It has to be compensated with motion interpolation, also sony TVs are king in the motion processing.

Yeah, I have no problem with it. MHW is always online and a true joy.
i thought this was cleared up the other day when they said you don't need a sub for single player
It's for online multiplayer though, but for solo you play online but you need PSN ID, of course. Similar to solo in The Division.
I hadn't thought about it but you're right. MHW is the same way and I've never heard any complaints about it. Everyone seems to LOOOOVE MHW! I am curious why it does need a persistent connection. I get multi-player, of course, but what about the game requires it to talk to their servers? Will be curious to see what that's all about. Fortunately, it shouldn't present an issue for me, but for people who travel....I can see them not liking this.

You guys don't seem to see the problem.

The problem is that since Godfall is online only, it means that the second Gearbox shuts down the servers, the game is basically dead and cannot be played anymore. You can play offline games 10 years from now, but this one? You may not be able to.

Which is different from MHW, because that game can create an offline server ala Minecraft, allowing you to play it as long as your heart beats.

Well, we will find out the details, but for myself I really don't care. The chances that I'll be playing the same game in 10 years and IF something like that happens...is very slim. But I see the concern and there may indeed be a few people that this could truly affect. Not many, but a very few.

Cool! Definitely proves that this is working by saving the state of the game completely to the SSD and has no dependency whatsoever on power. Good to know! We need to see more of this kind of thing. Of course, at this point, I don't believe we're going to see any more from either MS or Sony till the consoles launch. For whatever reason, Covid or just arrogance...they're not sharing any more information, it seems.

Not to call anyone out, but what did you want Rich to offer that he didn't? Sony's tear down is pretty darn bare bones, doing little more than labeling components. Rich discusses this, contrasting it against M$'s approach, which explains the differences in what DF can talk about. The liquid metal TIL is the closest we have to new concrete information from this video, and Rich discussed it about as much as it could be discussed. He mentions the size of the console because its the largest home console ever made. The design harkens back to the PS3: just supersize traditional components and use tried-and-tested techniques. That really limits the discussions to just how big everything is. There's really not much more to discuss without blind speculation, given the lacking content of Sony's video and Sony being pretty tight lipped about their design. I feel DF's video discussed it about as well as can be - what do you think they could've added that they didn't?

Yeah I think this is the end of all the info before launch. Dorsnt matter to me, but I even think the PS5 UI might just be left for us to see ourselves at launch.

we will see but they are no making two different games here. its the same exact game which will run on both the ps4 and ps5. thats why the game looks practically identical to spiderman ps4. thats why spiderman has the same traversal speed despite what cerny said.
No, it is the same game, but one version will be able to stream data from the world map upon exit from the interior area much faster than the other.
I'll leave it to you as an exercise to figure out which version and why.

Probably, but depending on secret sauce custom optimizations, closing a 17% performance gap is not inconceivable. We'll see what happens when we have benchmarks of 3rd party titles.

No it is not well optimized, R9 3900XT, RTX 2080, 32gb DDR4 3600mhz cl16, SSD Samsung 970 pro.

It is going to stutter no matter what build do you have so maybe you didn't notice.

it’s windows 10 crappy memory management. I had the same issue with control. you need a tool to clean up memory set and stuff. I forgot the name....

Having the choice to turn it off is important.
Oh yeah! When I first played Dark Souls back in the days I didn't know too much about it, and I was furious when I suddenly was invaded by another player, and also seeing other people's messages on the ground. That sort of stuff ruins the whole experience for me, and I have played all Dark Souls games and Bloodborne offline 100% of the time ever since. So their solution is great, you can easily choose according to preference.

I guess it depends on what "no offline mode" means, but if there's any kind of integration with other players I'm out. I want to play alone, or else all the fun is gone and I'll just get super annoyed.

Anything unproven is a guess/speculation.
Facts require hard evidence of which there are none of.
It’s not speculation just how ps4 was more powerful and some xbox fans kept trying to convince themselves that Xbox one was more powerful with all kinds of secret sauce but eventually reality will set in.

This isn’t about secret sauce. We know the hardware components. We just don’t know what the differences in hardware design will bring.

Xbox One and PS4 were a lot more straightforward in their design

It’s a fact that the Xbox series x is more powerful it’s not a guess but hey denial of facts is your right.

The facts are XSX needed 1080p to get stable 60 on Yakuza, 1800p50 on Sekiro and less said about Dirt5 the better. And no ray tracing clearly evident

Games seen so far on ps5 are 4k with ray tracing which is very expensive, or dynamic 4k60.

So the question is, what facts do we look at to determine power ? Is it paper specs of 1 metric, or how good games run ?

Hopefully we see some much better XSX performance soon, as last 5 or 6 have been dissapointing IMO. Nobody has looked at any game and gone wow, thats TF in action....

Next gen games vs cross gen and back compat . Not really a honest compare. I do agree Sony showed their better first party new gen games.

yet BC looks very impressive on Series .

It'd be cool if they just gave all users as much of the SSD as possible by default to use for anything, but then also let any user just save a game's RAM state to the SSD. Leave it up to each user to decide when/how.

I'd like to be able to save my game(s) to the SSD if I need to power down the console, but I'd want that space back for other stuff sometimes too.

For users who don' t need this feature, just let them use that chunk of storage for other things, like game downloads. Don't reserve a limited portion of the SSD for just this feature, just give all users the option to save as many or as few games' RAM states to the SSD whenever they want, or not at all, so more of the SSD is user controlled.

Why even limit this caching to a set amount of the SSD? Some don't need it at all, or would only use it for 1 game, but others would want more than 3-4 games.

Wonder if that shithouse ram setup on XsX is coming home to roost already
