Are they going to change the healing system to Estus?

I've heard that DeS healing system is as cheap as Dark Souls 2 with those lifegems

I've NEVER played any Souls game, but the screenshots and gameplay video is forcing me to buy this game at launch. Especially after being told it's not hard in the "Ninja Giden" or "DMC" type of way.
Always start with “I never played” just so later we get the millionth “Souls needs a easy mode” thread.

Op be better than those who came before you. And good luck you will like it

I can see them limiting your healing items on hand, but highly doubt it will be similar to Estus.

In the original game you could farm/buy for Moon Grass items that had variations like partial, half, full, etc.

Yes, you can summon people to help you on bosses and certain parts of levels. You can also invade other's games for PVP as well.

So is this unlimited amounts of times? Or do you pick up "Call a Friend" objects in the game that allow you to do it once per level?

The combat in these games has always been simple. It looks slightly different because they went through it fast.
No, the gameplay looked like the character was at a much higher level than what people will be starting with. It's not a good representation of the combat when you can just one-shot anything in your path. Go back to the original. You can't one-shot a dregling, even 2-handing as a knight. And you definitely can't one-shot Boletaria soldiers. I guess they didn't want the video getting bogged down with the actual mechanics of the game.

That's what I mean, they clearly had a higher player character to run through that section fast. That was the entire point.

Stone of Ephemeral Eyes is a drop that lets you play in human form, but you can also get your humanity restored by defeating bosses. If you want to play in human form, you can find Stones of Ephemeral Eyes in the world or farm them from the enemies that drop them.

And these here are used for the summoning or invasion.

The combat isn't simple, which is what you said. It's incredibly complex. If you're saying they shouldn't have used an over-leveled character for the trailer, I agree.

I love the series, but have to disagree with the games having incredibly complex combat. As for the trailer, I think they should have used a longer gameplay section without the high leveled/ overpowered character.

So those stones allow me to call a friend to help me out in times of need? Are they hard to find?

See my post above. His was about turning back into human form from phantom form.

You get the stone from the Maiden in the Nexus (hub).

This is super confusing as a non-Souls gamer. So what's the default form of the character in the game?

You're right, I'm getting them mixed up. The item I was talking about gives you higher max HP and removes status ailments. The Blue Eye Stone lets you summon, and it's unlimited use.

Sadly this will be some people's first experience with Demon's Souls.

Fortunately there's RPCS3 to preserve history, since Sony doesn't seem to believe in generations.

Wait a second...what?
Why is it sad that this will be the first experience with Demon's Souls?

Look I love DeS as much as the next guy, but the game was janky at the best of times and the framerate. Christ above. The framerate and screen tearing in World 5 was awful.

Also, I didn't know Sony had the power to Thanos Snap all PS3's out of existence once the PS5 comes out.

Human form

But the moment you die you l become hollow

But theres what we called World Tendency in DeS

The more you died the less human your appearance will be and you l gravitate closer to Dark Tendency

If you gone too far to dark/black tendency the enemies will become harder and thougher

You start as a human, but when you die you switch to Soul form, which decreases your max HP, but you can summon using the Blue Eye Stone, which can be used repeatedly in Soul form. I think that's pretty much it. I just finished a game of Dark Souls III, so some of the mechanics are blending together for me (Dark Souls does the opposite: you have to be in human form to summon).

Default form is human, when you die you got into soul form which usually has a hindrance on health and stamina stats. World tendency also has an impact, positive or negative (dark or light).

"Body Form and Soul Form
When you start the game, you are in Body form, your normal living self, but when you die your soul is bound to the Nexus. At this point, you will re-awaken there in Soul Form; the downside of this is that you will have your maximum HP halved in that state. You will do more damage while in Soul Form compared to Body Form if you have White Character Tendency.

Each time you defeat a world boss, you will automatically be revived if you are in Soul Form, which means you are transformed back to Body form. There are items called Stone of Ephemeral Eyes which will also revive you to Body form and full health at any time.

In Soul Form, if you are online, you can lay down a Blue Eye Stone to be summoned into another player's world to help him/her defeat a Demon. Doing so will restore your soul to your body. Alternatively you can invade another player's game as a Black Phantom with the aim of killing the host. If you are victorious you will regain your body. Regaining your body in another player's world will revive you at the start of the world you last died, in your own world. See the Online page for more details."

I haven't gotten around to pre-ordering yet, but if Amazon puts up another round I'll cave even though Demon Souls is the only game I care about for as far out as I can see.

I’m pretty sure this game will be a like to like with the only difference being the graphics and UI. I’d be stunned if they gave Bluepoint the autonomy to make design changes.

Also you can get invaded by other players if you're human!
