Always start with “I never played” just so later we get the millionth “Souls needs a easy mode” thread.
I've NEVER played any Souls game, but the screenshots and gameplay video is forcing me to buy this game at launch. Especially after being told it's not hard in the "Ninja Giden" or "DMC" type of way.
Are they going to change the healing system to Estus?
I've heard that DeS healing system is as cheap as Dark Souls 2 with those lifegems
Not seeing it.There's your ray tracing.
Wouldn't say terrible but Dark Souls III PC 4K can look very close to that. This particular screenshot looks terrible to me. Nothing really looks above PS4 quality.
The others look nice.
Yes, you can summon people to help you on bosses and certain parts of levels. You can also invade other's games for PVP as well.
No, the gameplay looked like the character was at a much higher level than what people will be starting with. It's not a good representation of the combat when you can just one-shot anything in your path. Go back to the original. You can't one-shot a dregling, even 2-handing as a knight. And you definitely can't one-shot Boletaria soldiers. I guess they didn't want the video getting bogged down with the actual mechanics of the game. The combat in these games has always been simple. It looks slightly different because they went through it fast.

Stone of Ephemeral Eyes is a drop that lets you play in human form, but you can also get your humanity restored by defeating bosses. If you want to play in human form, you can find Stones of Ephemeral Eyes in the world or farm them from the enemies that drop them.So is this unlimited amounts of times? Or do you pick up "Call a Friend" objects in the game that allow you to do it once per level?
The combat isn't simple, which is what you said. It's incredibly complex. If you're saying they shouldn't have used an over-leveled character for the trailer, I agree. That's what I mean, they clearly had a higher player character to run through that section fast. That was the entire point.
You mean the Demon's Souls mountain. There's your ray tracing.
Also the BotW mountain.

lol, please don't remind me. I hope that's the extent of the bullshit they try to pack in to this remake.also the Deluxe Edition comes with easy mode

So those stones allow me to call a friend to help me out in times of need? Are they hard to find?

I'd advise Bloodborne first, it's harder to go backwards from a locked 60fps to its frame pacing issues. And imo, it teaches you a more fun way to play Souls with no hiding behind a shield.
See my post above. His was about turning back into human form from phantom form.
You get the stone from the Maiden in the Nexus (hub).
You're right, I'm getting them mixed up. The item I was talking about gives you higher max HP and removes status ailments. The Blue Eye Stone lets you summon, and it's unlimited use.See my post above. His was about turning back into human form from phantom form.

Sadly this will be some people's first experience with Demon's Souls.
Fortunately there's RPCS3 to preserve history, since Sony doesn't seem to believe in generations.
This is super confusing as a non-Souls gamer. So what's the default form of the character in the game?
You start as a human, but when you die you switch to Soul form, which decreases your max HP, but you can summon using the Blue Eye Stone, which can be used repeatedly in Soul form. I think that's pretty much it. I just finished a game of Dark Souls III, so some of the mechanics are blending together for me (Dark Souls does the opposite: you have to be in human form to summon). This is super confusing as a non-Souls gamer. So what's the default form of the character in the game?

Human form
But the moment you die you l become hollow
But theres what we called World Tendency in DeS
The more you died the less human your appearance will be and you l gravitate closer to Dark Tendency
If you gone too far to dark/black tendency the enemies will become harder and thougher
It'll be interesting to see if they change the tendency mechanics in the remake.Default form is human, when you die you got into soul form which usually has a hindrance on health and stamina stats. World tendency also has in impact.
Are you talking about the pic with the helmet? the reflection on the puddle?Ray tracing is so obvious this time there is a slight hope that even color blind Alex can see it.
And at irregular intervals, other players invade your game, attempting to assassinate you.Hold on.......that's possible? The Souls games have some form of multi-player?
I’m pretty sure this game will be a like to like with the only difference being the graphics and UI. I’d be stunned if they gave Bluepoint the autonomy to make design changes. Are they going to change the healing system to Estus?

And defeating bosses and key enemies will shift it back to the light world tendency.
Same place it's always beenI don't remember that mountain in game, can someone remind me where it s?
Not seeing it.

If I could have picked one game to be remade at this level, it would have probably been Demon's Souls. I have not been this excited for a single game since I was a kid during the NES/SNES years.
Ah okay, that screenshot wasn't loading for me.The helmet reflection?
Yes and shadows also seem to be ray traced on the other pics. Lighting in general looks different from the performance mode, it has more depth. Are you talking about the pic with the helmet? the reflection on the puddle?
