Why do people think MS will allow Elder Scroll and Starfield on PS5?

Those titles are system sellers. People will buy Xboxes solely for these games. Smaller titles like Ori and Minecraft makes sense since those don’t move hardware.

If Microsoft doesn’t care for big exclusives then why isn’t Halo, Forza or Gears on PlayStation. Are people just that delusional?

Because they paid 7.5b
Because Minecraft is bigger than anything bethesda has and still is multiplat
Because MS did not say those games are not coming to PS

Minecraft is not a system mover and keeping them exclusive will increase the Xbox install base for sure, without a doubt. You have to have an Xbox to play these on consoles. Doesn’t make any sense to put these on all platforms. If that was a good business proposition then Sony or Nintendo would have done so already.

Because they need to make enough money off them. Getting them on GamePass will still entice people to get Xbox, but for everyone else selling them copies at $70 makes sense.

A) Because basic logic says that there is money to be made by releasing on the maximum number of platforms.

B) Because they want these games on PS5 to make them feel like their platform loyalty is justified and above reproach.

I completely forgot Sony already locked up two Bethesda games for a year and have two more Online games from the same company. Im pretty certain thats all their getting at this point.

For the same reason they allow Minecraft on PS4.

Not even remotely in the same galaxy when it comes to business deals.

Redfall and Fallout 5 would be XBSX and PC. You better have one or the other.
There's a huge audience for such games on PC, but there's even more on console, that leaves only one option.

Who knows, maybe Sony did bribe Rockstar and Microsoft is getting ready for the impact, or maybe not.

Starfield it's going to be impossible to release on PS because it's a new IP.

Elder Scrolls is a different story, and I thing Microsoft has a lot to gain by releasing it on Playstation, too.

1. Exactly - they didn't pay $7.5bil to keep letting playstation stay ahead
2. Minecraft being one of the biggest games in the history of the world is why it's still multiplatform. Bethesda games being smaller means they won't be.
3. They didn't need to. You don't buy companies to then keep helping the competition.

The answer is because the majority of this forum won't own an Xbox console or gaming PC that can play them so they're trying to will PS5 versions into existence.

Didn’t bethesda imply (or flat out say)that the already announced games haven’t changed publication? This would include starfield and TESVI

No one can say for certain whether or not they plan to put the games on PS5.

I mean, come on. Phil outright says other consoles will be considered.

are in a big trouble
Make more money simple as. I think they'll do what Rockstar does with the PC. They'll launch it on the Xbox first and a year or more later on PS5. Sure you'll get the it's not coming threads it didn't say PS5 in the trailer etc just like Rockstar does

Different situation. Minecraft was on multiple platforms before the acquisition. New games are an entirely different ball of wax.

That said I think Microsoft has finally seen the writing on the wall with respect to hardware and will publish most of their games on multiple platforms, including those that could be considered competitors in terms of hardware.

Long story short, the hardware arms race is a bloody slog that isn't where all the money comes from. Nintendo has known this for awhile. Microsoft figured it out in the last couple years and even Sony is starting to realize it.

All they confirmed was that Deathloop and Ghostwore contracts would be upheld.

Everything else has had no consoles announced. Only “coming to next gen” when they were announced at E3.

Those don’t have announced platforms. And rumors circled around Sony tried to get timed exclusive on Starfield and got shut down just a couple of months ago.
