They should of just released Halo and done a patch later on upgrading the visuals if the game was ready to be launched. What the hell is delaying it gonna do if its cross gen anyways its not like they're gonna built it from the ground up to XSX only now.

For multiplats is really the only thing I can think of. That's at least what I'm getting it for along with the PS5 for Spiderman and Demon's Souls.

MS just bought Zenimax/Bethesda. That's a *lot* of huge games that are now likely not coming to PS5. MS have 20+ first party studios that you won't get games from. Most third party games will run and look better on the Series X because it's just flat out the better hardware.

Unless you absolutely cannot live without sonys first party single player games, there's no real reason to go PS5 over Series X.

I didn't play Spider man so I'm looking forward to the remaster and Morales. Demon souls looks pretty sweet too but the real reason I'm getting PS5 is the secret Sauce SSD. Just kidding it's mostly for next gen 2k21 which my brother and friends will be playing on PS.

You're right in that they'll both be playing pretty much the same games at launch and will both have great 1st party titles. I guess my best bet is to wait a bit and grab a XSX a bit later. I'm gonna think about it a bit more and decided tmrw thanks for the response broskie.

NBA 2k21 etc? I'd bet they'll all be cross-platform play sooner or later, so that could solve that problem.

But yeh, if you like sony first party games then absolutely, get the PS5. I'm never going to say they're bad games, they're just not for me so I have no desire at all to buy a console to play them.

Pre-orders went live about 4 1/2 hours ago here in New Zealand.

Two of our biggest gaming online retailers sold out within 10 minutes. One within 2 minutes.

Most sold out within an hour.

All Series X have now sold out, two retailers still have Series S stock, with one showing lots of Series S allocation remaining.

I'm pissed I didn't realise Microsoft take your old xboxes for cash also. I would of just went with them this morning instead of fucking with ebgames..

Now I've gotta try to preorder again off eb in and hours time for stock they don't even know when they'll get.. the fuck is this bullshit. I would of gladly walked instore to pre order my shit like I've done in the past. How does a site sellout of stock when you can't even checkout of the store and it signs you out..

I'm talking a wait and see approach. Microsoft's first party offerings haven't necessarily enticed me. The Zenimax acquisition might change that, though.

Only problem is its delivery only (hopefully they arrive on the release date) and you need to pay for the whole system up front. Good luck.

EB Games sold out again or they've pushed back pre-orders again by 3 hours took 1 minute for them to sell that batch.

Edit : disregard it was pushed back 8 minutes before pre orders were meant to open.

Just saw this on their Twitter. 8 minutes before pre orders were meant to recommence they push it.. think I'm just gonna wait for Microsoft to release more stock on their store. I've called up EB Games to get a general date for the post launch pre order supply and they told me that they don't know a date and that there's a chance that stock may even be pushed to early 2021.

Yep it's all been a gigantic shit show from EB.

I got one from JB, who knows when I'll get it, but doesn't really matter as I won't be buying any games for it for the foreseeable future. Nothing with a release date yet appeals to me. It'd just be a PUBG machine for now haha.

Sold out in about 30 seconds....I had the system in my cart at 8am and it wouldn't process the payment no matter how many attempts I tried.

They've dropped the ball pretty hard, I should of just pre-ordered from JB or Microsoft..

I can wait as you said there's not to much I wanted to play straight away other than cyberpunk, I'm more annoyed at the fact that you advertised pre orders can only be made online and yet you don't take the steps necessary to make it a simple process for people while also protecting stock from scalpers.

JB also wasn't working for 20+ minutes lol. Errored every time it tried to look up postcodes.

Looks like Microsoft decided to also keep the price of their new controllers same as last gen and not up the price unlike Sony. Good move. This is New Zealand pricing.
