This is getting so boring

Here, I cut the loading segments of both, especially for you and people like you.
So take out your mobile phone, go stopwatch mode, and time them yourself

Now, next time you or somebody else like you quotes me for this thing, he better have used his mobile to time.

2.13 - 2.19 seconds on average when ratchet enters the first portal and leaves the last portal to the actual game world

I think you misunderstood his point the message was more akin to this saying That you can prove the existence of something with a simple proof but you can't prove the inexistence of something the same way.

It's a bit like proving the existence of a unicorn if you find one then there is proof of its existence but you can't just look at one horse and say "look that's not a unicorn henceforth unicorns don't exists".

And I understand it is more of a philiosophical dilemma that probably doesn't really have it's place here.

To be fair, he had to deal with the massive efforts of Bo Hazem et al. constantly trying to derail his point by making utterly false claims about the timings in the clip being altered.

When people refuse the address the point, and even create a fiction to discredit it, you haven't got much choice other than to keep f'ing making it and hope you get through to the sane ones.
And you are some kind of an expert about not answering the bloody points as can be seen in your previous posts.

People are trying to explain that if the hardware was not capable of fast load times, transition times of 2 seconds would not be possible in any game, period.

Slowing down a transition with capable hardware - assuming that "Geoff's Astrobot demo" was even actually running on a PS5 - is easy, speeding it up with hardware that's incapable is impossible.

You know when all they can nitpick about is whether the loading was 1 second or 2 seconds that things are bad over at Xboxland.
Well, I know this does not suit your narrative, but I was only replying to this fella right here:
So at one point 7 mins 18 seconds a load screen takes about 5+ seconds to load.

That seems a little worrying on a small game such as this.

Imagine a big open world game, next gen looking, with rich detail etc.

Not sure this bodes well.

They said it was running on Series X after all.....

He timed the xbox demo loading times, and he got me concerned
So I did some comparative timing

and for your own information, I am both at "xboxland" AND at "playstationland"
I just dont like FUD and console racism

Though I don't think it is the case with R&C, it is a possibility.
The geometry and assets variety and complexity in Ratchet & Clank is much larger.
I think it only works in GoT because many of the game world assets fit in the RAM and don't need to be reloaded, while a lot of details like grass can be generated procedurally.

If we keep indulging the shark troll, we can get to 3000 pages before we get prices or release dates.

I still hope the PS5 has an extra USB port on the back.
I like your definition of troll, I only put up video segments and ask everybody to time them.
Very rich coming from you.

Can't wait for MS to show what multis japanese devs are working.

Before than, I want to see if they are doing anything at all for xbox :messenger_grinning_smiling:

interesting... so I checked it out.
I dont see much reason to be concerned

video starts with an initial load of a couple of second for the open world, but we dont know if there was more before it.
then from its open world to battle, the transition is instantaneous:

then from battle to camping less than three seconds:

then from camping to in house less than three seconds:

from house to open world less than five seconds

and all these are playable segments

this is just a multiplatform release of a small indie studio of basically two people,
yet it beats both sony's first party (ratchet) and sony internal demo team (astro's playroom ) on loading speeds for gameplay

Yeah, both games are EQUALL in graphics, destruction, fidelity.

Your post few weeks ago :

some comments clearly defy logic , don't they?

People are longing for them to bring back Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey ips, but it is kinda difficult to see them doing it right now.

Team Xbox has been teasing a lot of collaboration with Japanese dev community this time around compared to current gen. I wouldn't be surprised if plethora of xbox timed exclusives from the land of rising sun are announced at TGS and boom announce the price of Series X, outsell PS5 in Sony's home turf.

It is not impossible, just highly improbable. Microsoft still takes part in the gaming events cause they don't have the power to attract people to their own event like Sony.

But I could see they using this event to bring more ports directly to gamepass like the rest of Yakuza games, maybe Judgment.

...and some of you guys dare call me a shark troll

I give this a 50% chance. the other 50% is that they'll also have 1-2 more games no one has ever heard or cared about.
But Japan would be a good place to show the small form factor series S

I ain't trolling buddy, I am being fair here. Xbox said they've learned a lot to treat Japanese region with lot more aggressive and passionate approach for next gen.

Do you guys have any idea regarding the time frame around which Sony makes it anouncements ?

I dont remeber the aprox. time when the older anouncements were made

Don't bother with him I made a more than 10 points arguments and he tried to answer 2 of them and missed the point both times...
The thing is he wants facts over a bias ...we showed fact that he was skewed heavily toward Xbox and PC but those aren't biased facts because they are all piece of opinion disguised as an analysis.Unless he comes out and litteraly says "yeah fuck sony" there's no fact and even there it can be interpreted as a lies.
But we have evidence of double standards and a severe difference of treatment. Not even counting lies and bullshit.

And you are some kind of an expert about not answering the bloody points as can be seen in your previous posts.

You are a piece of work aren't you?

You posted a list of 10 unsupported claims. I foolishly took them seriously enough to research the first two points - only to discover that both were complete bullshit.

I proved the first two point wrong with actual links and quotes. Strangely you haven't addressed any of that? I think we both know why.

You can't.

So why would I give you the benefit of the doubt on the other eight points?

In all likelihood you just parrot that stuff with no idea if it's true or not. Must be annoying to be called out. You need to recognise that It's not true just because you say it is.

I'm not about to waste my time researching the rest of your list for you. You're making the claims, the onus of proof is on you.

You can start by posting direct quotes or links supporting your other eight, probably made-up, 'mic drops'.

Be sure to give me a heads-up when you've done it. It'll be an interesting read. Though I won't be holding my breath.

One S barely sells 20,000 units/ week worldwide at the moment. I don't think it will sell 10 units after release of new gen. It has no future. Only current gen console that is going to live for another 2 years is PS4 slim.
Yep, what makes me think: how about PS4 Pro? The moment PS5 arrives, it won't be the premium PS experience anymore, nor the budget option. Sony should retire it altogether.

Bo, you're wrong. The counter is timecode. It measures seconds and video frames. Every second of video is appx 25 frames. it isn't skipping anything.

Edit: Reading back through this thread I think a few of you owe ol' Sharky an apology. Geez, you guys are super quick to jump to conclusions.

It's amazing (not in a good way).

So it's a wrong type of timers, which still makes it wrong?

Let's wait for UI show. I remeber reading somewhere that they added screen transition with launching game, because it was so fast that people were shocked how blazing fast it is and it was strange to them.

I want to point one thing :
On phones when you launching apps you get animation transition.
When you use iphone and android which are on the same level, with animations turned on android they fell the same.
But when you turn off android animation it fell snappier than iphone. But lack of animations make it fell strange and jerky. Thats why animations exists. Not only its giving time app/games/assets time to launch but also can look nice.

I don't expect under 1 second launch time on PS5 because it would look rushed. It will be always like 2 s. Screen blackout and some fancy transition animation. For the sake of having nice look to it.

As I thought. The transition sequence is 2 seconds for artistic reasons

Yes, I think someone on here once explained in quite a bit of detail why it could technically be done faster by just showing a black screen for less than a second then pop you straight into the next world, but because they want it to transition, the system can't just cull all assets from memory and start fresh, they have to still be showing elements of the other. Regardless, 1,2,3,4 seconds, whatever is a generational shift and will allow new experiences to be explored. Imagine grabbing a rift portal and then waiting 90 seconds :messenger_grinning_smiling:

In terms of time of day, usually 4-6 hours from now?

If you mean how in advance they announce events, the Future of Gaming one was originally announced before the delay I believe May 29 for June 4, so less than a week earlier. Which means if there really is a PS5 event September 7, they could announce it today or tomorrow.

giphy-9.gif
No. The timer isn't wrong. It counts in seconds and frames, a defined fraction of a second.

Video runs at twenty-five frames per second (minor variations depending what country you're from), so the counter logs one second for every twenty-five frames. For instance one second plus twenty-five frames is two seconds total. Yes, two seconds, exactly like a clock.

So, in short, two seconds = two seconds, regardless of the counter.

Thegreatwhiteshark was right all along. The video isn't edited or manipulated, you could just've timed the bloody thing to see for yourself how long the transition was. All the bullshit about the counter was just you kicking up dust and denying the bleeding obvious.

You are now, and have always been, completely wrong on this issue. You spent a significant amount of time accusing other people of spreading FUD simply because you don't know anything about video timecode.

If you have any integrity at all you'll just admit an honest mistake and move on.

Nah, japanese developers know they have to make their games to the world, not the tiny island. And western market have great demand for japanese games right now. When I say people I say in general. That's the gist of it no matter if it's for Playstation or Xbox.

We can never say no, but I'm just skeptical by nature.

What about Persona?

Would be a hell of a surprise when even nintendo is still in the shadow. Although this is the kind of series I could see Sony going to make partnership this time.

I've seen various times that they post announcements. They use a scheduler for Twitter as some tweets are right at the top of the hour.

In EST, I've seen announcements as early as:

9am
11am-12pm
1pm-4pm

4pm is the latest I've seen for the types of announcements we look for. The DualSense reveal for example was at that time.
