GTAV to be Epic store's free game

Interesting, I wonder if this is part of the Hype for a new update on GTA V. Today is the day they would normally drop an update for the game a weekly one or something big.

Why do we wonder that now and not when they put it on PS Now and not when they put it on Game Pass?

It didn't stay on Gamepass for long.

You'd be surprised how tight some people are. There are weird folk out there who will happily wait 7 years for a sale or to get a game for free. They don't think anyone deserves their hard earned money!
Some might be just not interested in this...game. I've buying a lot of games, but never interested in GTA since GTA3. Will grab it for free just for collection.

I haven't ever bought any GTA game.

Epic is really giving us awesome freebies. And after their latest tech demo of UE5, I'm gonna say they're on a roll.

My stubbornness will never yield. Even GTAV won't convince me to download EGS.

I have managed to remain somewhat principled in only buying my PC games from GOG (2 years running). Then again my PC is still severely outdated...

Is this the gaming equivalent of antivaxxers wearing MAGA hats?
Not quite. I firmly believe in vaccines and I am no conspiracy theorist.

It has been shown a few months ago how the client was sending lots of data without your personal consent. Sweeney said it was something they forgot/left there by mistake? Which is a behaviour I don't really appreciate.
I don't understand why they're pushing so hard with this policy of giving away free games. If their client is good and offers good prices (or is going to be so), then they will be able to compete with Steam and other platforms. After this wave of free games, what's going to differentiate it from other clients? Unfortunately I also do not see any price reduction for the end user.

Is a 2070super/8600k stock/16 gb ddr4 enough to play this at 4k60 frame with some useless shit toned down a little?

Don't really understand the attitude against Epic. If you just get the free games you would have all these by now. I've never spent money yet have over 100 games on it:

Some people are still upset about the exclusive launches (which to be honest do suck) and others are still paranoid Epic Games is a front for the Chinese government to steal their data or something.

But yeah the free games are great. I actually got more games that interest me from Epic than Ps+ last year

9 minutes to go for the reveal.

Edit: Yep. Premium Edition for the 7 people in the world who don't already have it :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I don't mind EGS as a concept, but the client is fucking awful. For instance, right now their servers are getting hammered. You know what that means? I can't launch any of my games that I own because it can't even load my fucking library. Like...what?

thats definitely not the case, but nice history revision
That's been the case for like almost a decade...

I've played Ps3 version, and i will try Pc version too, thanks to Epic. They are doing great things but should improve store features more faster. I'm glad there is some competiton going on between Steam and Egs. I love them both:messenger_beaming:

EverydayBeast

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
GTA V changed the open world game by offering more weapons, characters, buildings, stories etc. and I got it ranked high on the GTA hierarchy (a lot of really good R* games) I think Epic games' point here is to get Grand Theft Auto 6 exclusivity.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Seems like they should have realized that GTA5 would have been a big draw. They obviously knew for at least a week that it would be the game they'd be giving out this week.

The time for scaling servers was like... yesterday.

As much as I hate EGS, at least they keep giving high quality free games

... unlike some company with a "Plus" service that gives TWO SIMULATORS AT THE SAME TIME

:D

Despite owning it for PS4 I won't let that free game slip, for sure. Never played it on PC before, time to get into some modding my friends.

I doubt the Epic launcher is sending your personal details off to preregister you for some Chinese internment camp.

I've got Steam, Gog, Uplay, Battle.net, adding Epic wasn't much of a step. What's that joke? How do you know someone doesn't use the Epic launcher? Don't worry they will tell you.

Can't wait to download this later, been meaning to pick up on PC and some nude mods

Probably gonna have to wait for the servers to cool down a bit first

Their hostile and aggressive attempts at gaining a foothold in the pc market by buying up exclusivity, while attempting to be Mr Nice Guy by giving out free games really irks me. Not to mention hypocritical Tim Sweeney with his 30% bullshit.

Fuck EGS. If people want free games thats fine but some people have the decency to look beyond their petty offerings.

That's no different that what Sony and MS do.

I haven't spent a single cent on Epic Games Store ( a big reason - no Canadian pricing - all in USD) ... BUT I have quite a nice library built up on it now. I think they're playing a long game very well.
