Season Pass details for Assassins Creed: Valhalla emerge (Legend of Beowulf)

It was on the German Ubisoft online store that some new details about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Season Pass appeared. Reportedly, the first episode of Valhalla’s Season Pass DLC will be The Legend of Beowulf story mission. There’s not much on what this mission will entire so far outside of the following flavor text:

“Includes the story mission: The Legend of Beowulf,” the page reads. “Discover the cruel truth behind the legend.”

Outside of that, the Season Pass promises other content featuring “new countries and new equipment,” but there’s little else on what The Legend of Beowulf will actually entail.

I see people here are finally noticing Ubi's business practices. This has been a regular thing for them for quite a while now. Not at all surprised by this.

I would buy a performance tier instead of a dlc pass. Like 80$ for a 1080p 60 version would be nice kinda like you can buy a car that is the same model but can go faster.

gameplay hasn't even been shown yet, and already season pass..... yes clearly gaming has transcended to the next level. Next year they will just show a tweet saying game is revealed and already showcase a season pass. SMH
I think next time they will release a season pass announcement before the actual game announcement!

Hey here's the details of season pass from our next game. Game itself will be revealed two months later.

I’ll wait for actual gameplay to be shown before i make a decision. Origins was pretty good though I havent played Odyssey yet.
Agreed, kinda silly.

Is this the new normal?
When it comes asscreed it certainly feels that way sometimes. Like how just barely after a reveal, suddenly they put up pre-orders for 5-8 different versions of the game.

I don't get the hate. Both AC:Origins and AC:Odyssey had a huge base game campaign with god knows how many side quest and places to visit plus cool bonus contents (discovery tours). If you still wanted more after 100 hours of gameplay, you could buy a season pass that also offered dozens of hours of content that would keep you playing much, much longer. I have no problem with that at all. Ubisoft isn't selling you useless horse armor, but real content worth playing. Compare that to Nintendo who have rubbish season packs that are laughably low on real content.

You can already pre-order the game at Ubisoft and in that case it should of course be possibile ot order all different editions. If you've been playing any Ubisoft game you'll have amassed Ubipoints and you need only 100 of those to get a 20% discount. So the regular edition would costs $48 instead of $59.99, the edition with the season pass $80 instead of $100. Those are great prices considering the amount of content you're getting. I got the Gold edition of AC:Oddyssey from the Ubisoft store for that price and it was the steel case edition instead of the regular one. I absolutely got my money's worh with that game. I40 play hours and that doesn't include the six additional chapters in the season pass. (And these are big, they need an additional 20GB of HD space on the PS4).

So stop complaining. All that negativity is just juvenile and tiresome. Save it for the real bad actors in the business, companies like EA and Activision that have implement gambling mechanics into all of their most popular games and generated billions of dollars of additional revenues that way. I played through the last two AC games and there's no need at all to buy addon packs in order to finish the game. You can earn all the XP and money you need just by playing the game, enemies generally progress at about the same rate as the player so you'll never get into situations where you have to grind for ages in order to get any further, forcing you to buy XP from the game store.

Wait. Do I get to kick ass while buck naked? What's the rating on this game?

Anyway, if the game's good I'll get this. I buy like 1 season pass a decade so whatever.

If there will be more dlc stories in that season then its fine. Bought other dlc stuff on previous ac's and its worth money, same as division 2 dlc, worth it. So dont see problem here.

People seem to think quantity is quality. Doing the same repetitive objectives in an expanded map isn't quality. Sure odyssey had a lot of things to do in the game. Probably the biggest game that came out. But it wasn't all that exciting. When I have to smack a measly wolf 8 times with my sword to kill it, you know you're not playing an AC game. The balancing in odyssey was ass. I loved the world and exploration but it was too big for the sake of being big.

All I'm saying is I wanted to see gameplay before they talk about shoving dlc down our throats but yea.

The news cycle for this game has told me everything I need to know. Gameplay is going to be exactly what you expect and played last time with minor tweaks so gameplay videos not really as essential as laying out that you can have butt sex and buy more things after you've bought the game.
