I just think we should not "castrate" all the insiders (Be it on either fence).
It was great that they shared their info with us and the debates are awesome!
I still do have friends/colleagues in the gaming industry who gave me info too but i don't want to risk their jobs. (there is only a handful of big devs in Singapore).

Let's just enjoy the ride and be grateful that we will have 2 great console releases end of this year (If there are no delays, that is :messenger_smirking:)

Given how Microsoft repeated multiple times there clocks are
locke, no boost mode etc....

... could the reason why we have so many different numbers floating around for PS5 GPU just be that it has a “boost mode“ that’s higher than its “normal mode” ?

If people got the clocks and CUs mixed up, then the TF calculations are mixed up/wrong like accidentally ?

maybe it can only hit 2.0 GHz with some CUs disabled, but full CUs at lower clock speed, etc ?

Yeah i thought it was interesting how DF said Microsoft kept mentioning how their clocks are locked.

Some over at Beyond3D are speculating this as well. There might've been a reason they kept stressing "consistent clocks" Monday, it's unusual to do in context of a regular console when typically consoles have always had stable clocks.

We'll find out tomorrow; personally I hope that's the case if it means some engineering fun to be had by devs down the line, same with some of the XSX stuff mentioned Monday. I know we'll never get the type of exotic, esoteric designs back like from the old-school days but it should be interesting to see how it goes on that front. Just a little over twelve hours to go!

I guess it has more to do with the fact that modern PC hardware is so much about "game boost" and other shit these days.
the CPU and GPUs in modern PCs change clock frequency literally from one second to the other at all times.

they most likely wanted to assure everyone that this is not the way they are going. that's important to say IMO because of how close modern consoles are to PCs... hell the damn thing even looks like a PC!

Report me for trolling ND/TLoU2 threads
most of us have to remember, just like BGs said, certain numbers which have been thrown around might have been true at one point in time or another during the Playstation 5 development, as for the final number which will be revealed tomorrow (hopefully), then even an insider cannot say for certain. My point is we don't need to start delegitimising/cancelling the insiders if their numbers were slightly off.
Im bored as shit in isolation right now so im taking notes and jotting shit down for the island vote

What if the PS5 will be able to run at like 13+ TF for PSVR 2 games but like 11-12 for PS5 games?

cause no one plays VR games for like 5 hours nonstop so maybe it can handle the extra heat for lIke 30 minutes? or is this a dumb idea ?

Oh I'm glad they're doing it as I've been starving for news but I was just saying from a maximum splash kinda perspective. Like I think MS' announcements have been pretty drowned out by all the constant updates of lockdowns

Yeah I agree with you. The splash will be big enough tomorrow I feel. Xbox sits in at over 26K likes from their fastest, most powerful tweet. Sony? 110K on their announcement for tomorrow.

I can't wait for all the 9.2 Teraflop believers to eat a massive amount of Crow tomorrow. We knew both consoles were coming out the same year, Sony is not going to give Microsoft that much of an advantage in GPU performance for their base system. Even if PS5 ends up being $399 it'll still be 10+ Teraflops. From the people who actually mattered has been saying since last year that both consoles were very powerful and very close in specs. Yet, people wanted to believe in rando github leaks.

I do think it's important for Sony to have fixed speeds. My hope is that they will go with one rock solid speed. I would love it if the 15 TF rumor is correct and they used a top notch cooling system.

So my perspective is that Xbox series X is a crazy powerful machine. I expect PS5 to be near or beating this performance from all the rumors and discussion. Is this not a win for all of us gamers? AMD is killing it and we are all going to benefit. Regardless of your platform of choice. Next gen is going to be great.

I can't wait for Sony to announce that their system is at least 13 TF. The cynics who have been pushing the idea of a gimped console are going to look like total idiots. I urge everyone to SAVE THEIR POSTS because they will be deleting their post history. We need a master list of everyone who promoted the idea of a weak system.

I'm not quite on the 13 Tflop hype train, but its going to be 10 - 11 Tflops minimal.

Disregards one of the Japanese heads saying psv will be niche and for the hard-core gamers foh with this nonsense driven by a narrative 🤦‍♂️🤡🤡🤡🤡
He did, they also said they wanted an easy and fast transition to next gen, I assumed they ment in terms of getting your profile and purchases switched over, but i suppose it could have ment cheap console😉😂
It's crazy how much misquoting and blatant made up shite gets done online, especially as we all have access to a search engine🙃

Guess we'll find out tomorrow. They might go for one speed, but I doubt it'll be 15. Firstly I still a PS5 that's $500 at maximum. Secondly I don't want them to cheap out on something else to hit the 15 and the only way that would happen and still go 15 is to go well north of $500 on MSRP.

Would rather prefer a balanced design to the system vs something going for absolute power in one area just to be extremely weak in another critical area.

Tht was definitely in regards to bc as well as affordable price relevant to specs and 500 is not out of that realm
