Nothing is below expectations, you are taking a twitter account opinion as facts. Sony has expected 13m unit sold and achieved that. Its their second best selling year with record revenues and income. Just look at the "official" financials man 🤣

Also these drops are expected giving that PS4 has released 6 years ago and only had one price cut.

Sony lowered their expectations to 15 million back in July, and then adjusted to 13,5 million in October. So I guess you're right. It's not below expectations... but the only reason for that is that they kept lowering their expectations all year.

They spoke about it briefly about 10 minutes ago.

What I gathered:
  • They will announce their plans soon and provide investor guidance shortly after.
  • They can't talk about it yet in relation to this because a price has not been announced.
  • Current focus is still on improving services and increasing user base (along with subscription numbers) in preparation for the upcoming generation.

No, I think "comparable to the past" was in reference to how soon after the reveal they plan on providing investor guidance updates.

Diskless SKUs are not profitable if you have a SKU with a disc drive. The disc drive costs Sony pennies and it would require more money spent in a redesign of the Diskless SKU (unless they follow the lame Xbox SAD design of simply removing the disc slot.) The price difference of disc drive is not enough to improve storage size, not even to add another controller to that SKU, so as long as there is a disc drive in the main SKU, a Diskless SKU doesn't make financial sense.

Take a bigger cut, loss and make up for it by selling more subscriptions and gamus! They should have adjusted the price of the PS4 around late 2018. I´m not so sure, if the BIG GUNS of 2020 will push any system, seems pretty saturated af at $299.

PS4 amateur $150 or if you have the balls $99 and PS4 pro at $250
