Finally, results of my scheme that I put in motion years ago is starting to show.

Now that Bioware is kill, how long until DICE is next? I know that Criterion is still alive but mainly as a zombie and Respawn is too recent, so that leaves DICE as the prime candidate for EA (Electronic AIDS).
Oh, you don't have to worry about DICE. No other studio under EA can do a goddamn thing with Frostbite. They would keep DICE around just out of practicality.

The Tribe Has Spoken
This could have something to do with what EA was referring to in one of their recent financial reports:

Over the last six months, we’ve made organizational changes to shape our teams against our priorities for the future. We’ve made operational changes to better position ourselves to effectively drive live services and serve our player communities. We’ve made creative changes, including the formation of a Creative Council to strengthen our creative decision-making. And we will continue to make refinements in each of these dimensions as we focus sharply on execution across the company.

We are making critical adjustments to sharpen our focus on execution

As Blake and I have talked about, we are experiencing a difficult second half of FY19. We’re disappointed with our underperformance. We are confident in our overall strategy, but we are making deliberate changes to our organization, our operational processes, and our creative focus to address our challenges.

Good riddance to this joke of a studio. Bioware was one of the first studios to be infected and eventually overrun by the SJW virus. I'm honestly surprised they're still around given their output.

Unfortunately a lot of AAA developers in the West have been overrun by SJWs already with boring character designs that follow the toxic SJW’s code strictly.

LOL Anthem didn't fail because of any SJW leanings. It failed because it was a shitty looter shooter with horrible drop rates on gear.

are in a big trouble
EA has been doing this for years and years now. Destroying companies after they've made there money.

I would love to see someone save this studio but I doubt it would happen.

Can’t disagree but this time we might witness EA shutting them down

It'll definitely happen. I mean they shut down Visceral games who made the damn good Dead Space 1 and 2. Even DS3 was somewhat decent.

If Visceral got shut down over a lack of sales for DS3 but must have cost significantly less to make, then what hope do Bioware have? If Dragon Age fails in sales then yeah. Bioware are i
gone.

I'm just surprised that they've managed to stay around after the mess that was Mass Effect Andromeda tbh.

Me and my friends didn't buy it for the sjw bullshit they pulled with Andromeda.

This might be in bad taste saying this, but, why would anyone want to hire someone from leadership on Anthem?

Because more then just 1 person led to that game being the way it was. The team for sure have a hand in it, but so does the publisher EA for forcing them to even use such an engine. Keep in mind, 1 bad game by someone doesn't actually support them NEVER being hired else where, the industry just doesn't work that way and people don't hire based on those reasons. It would be like saying to not hire someone who worked on a bad game and he is just a character artist or something.

So....good thing most companies know 1 person doesn't just make such games and its actually a team of many people.

Final fantasy 14 comes to mind, but Final Fantasy is also squares crown jewel ip with a 30 + year legacy that they couldn’t afford to have tainted.

Anthems ip is probably a negative asset at this point while final fantasy is one of the biggest in gaming history.

Except you nor I know what will be done with that IP in years to come to really say that.

We could have said the same thing about FFXIV in 2010.....

I know I've stated this before, but the concept is fantastic. Robots. Guns. Loot. Flying around shooting monsters.

How do you fuck that up?

That question is no longer rhetorical, I guess.

Encouraged to leave perhaps. Despite the bucketloads spent on marketing, if you can’t make it then, you know where the fault is.

They did well with the movement and shooting. They dropped the ball with everything else; most importantly having content.

cant launch a destiny competitor with 1/3rd the content of launch d1.

and then provide no content anyway ...

keep in mind fallout 76 is successful where anthem is not. Both launched at the same time and Bethesda’s product thrives.

BioWare got pwneddd

If the guy is competent, and the game failed because too much factors beyond your control, so this is a guy with a lot of experience in how things can go bad and how to avoid. Of course, if he is competent and learn with the situation.

What's really hilarious about stories like this is that people assume that producers in the video game industry do fuck all anyway. They have nothing to do with any of the important aspects of game development.

They're a dime a dozen interchangeable suits. Worry when the lead art director or systems engineer leaves. Producers are useless.
