Dragon Age 4 Lead Producer Leaves BioWare.

Why not just stick a fork in Bioware and get it over with? After Anthem I'm still surprised EA is going through the motions of keeping up appearances. Let's not kid ourselves., a new Dragon Age game happening seems as likely as KOTOR 3.

Just add Bioware to the pile of other studios that EA has put out to pasture.

Good. They should rename the ones doing SWTOR, and give them their own studio. Then sack the rest of these talentless hacks who dare call themselves Bioware.

There really needs to be a new version of this that has a few relevant changes:

-"Some years from now" changed to "A few years ago"

-All the other dead studios EA killed since this was made added to the mass grave

-A new final panel of EA using Biowares corpse like a ventriloquists dummy to announce Anthem and DA4.

Judging by those stories about Anthem's development, the leadership over there was a large part of the problem, they maintained their "Bioware magic" mantra that it would someone all come together at the end, despite the talented coders, artists and designers who probably shouldered that burden on the old classics, no longer being there.

It’s either being shut down or a massive restructuring.

Inquisition was just as bad as any other of their recent stinkers (worse IMHO) so axing existing teams may be a great idea.

EA gave them a degree of autonomy. Bioware didn’t deserve it

Looks like it might finally come to a close. BioWare, one of the most overrated studios out there, is finally acknowledging something I thought for a long time.

To be honest, Dragon Age: Origins is the only good Dragon Age. DA2 had nice, but horrible executed ideas and Inquisition was (imo) terrible.

At this point EA won't need to close the studio. Just turn the lights off one day - there'll be nobody to turn them back on.

Also wasted £15 on DA:I and I can play through some jank. Lasted bout 2hrs maybe. 89 metascore though. 95 from Gameinformer.

But wait, I was told in another thread by 'totally unbiased gamers' that when high ranking people leave suddenly during development it meant everything was okay and this was normal. That the game was doing well and probably done already. All they need to do is polish....

.....

......

And it's BioWare too. The similarities are all there.

Dragon Age: Inquisition was great. The Frostbite engine was brilliant for that game and then came Andromeda.

Despite all of the trainwrecks and drama surrounding Bioware as of late, I'm one of the few people that will check out Dragon Age 4 and shed a tear when EA finally puts a bullet in their head :messenger_crying:.

The Lead Producer is like the most important person in the development, you just can´t leave in the middle of making the fucking game. It´s your vision and you who takes all the important decisions, instructing the team, greenlighting ideas, shaping the story and characters, wtf, it´s like Hideo Kojima or Hidetaka Miyazaki just suddenly decided to leave during the directing of Death Stranding or Elden Ring.

Yea but sometimes changing the top can also course correct... if they put the time and money. Not sure they will.

baldur's gate 1 and 2, neverwinter nights, kotor, jade empire, Dragon age origins/awakening and mass effect 1 and 2 are easily in the top 100 games of all time. Everything after those it has been a sinking ship, and anthem broke the hull.

Shit at least top 20 for most of those that you listed.

ye I was originally gonna put top 50 but I gave it some breathing room once I thought about a lot of other games, I would love to see a documentary recounting internal dev stuff from mass effect 3 to anthem. like what the hell happened.

I bet they'll be put on Star Wars Battlefield campaign DLC soon. Maybe they can work on the story for the next Need For Speed or Madden.

Time to take old yeller behind the shed and give him both barrels. All the signs of a SJW infection and general mismanagement are there, so it would be cruel to let Bioware continue suffering.

>well, watch this space :)

not a fucking chance, DA4 was crap. I wasted 10 bucks on that game. Get lost dude.

DA4 has not come out yet....
DA3 was awesome. Finished it the first time then did another play through imminently. One of the top games of 2014.

It really. really wasn't. Forced trans character that stuck out like a sore thumb. Boring ass open world, lackluster character and armor customisation, stupid plot and a weak villain.

I'll give it credit for some good companion writing, and Trespasser being awesome, but that's it.

Dragon Age has been dogshit since after the first game, if this is the horse they are betting on to save them they are delusional.

Saying Bioware is now a shell of its former self would be overly generous.

I'd rather all the important people left and the next DA turned out to be utter garbage, thus resulting in Bioware closing, than another wet fart like they have been producing for the last ten years and somehow keeping the company afloat.
