Music to wake up to in the morning

My current alarm sound is too jolting. Anyone have any good alarm music recommendations? I'm personally looking for one which starts off very quiet and relaxing, gradually getting louder over 5 minutes before turning into a more upbeat and energetic tune.

Robert Miles' "Children" is perfect, I'd say. It starts out atmospherically (there's also rainfall in the album cut) and builds into a warm, uplifting trance beat. It's the sort of dance tune that can get you pumped in the morning or help you reflect at night.

Oh he's fat fuck, but he's a funny fat fuck.

Edit - I saw them live a few years ago opening for KMFDM. 5 minutes after they left the stage the lead singer stuck his naked ass through the curtains and mooned the entire cloud. These guys are fucking hillarious.

You don't really need one particular song. I set three alarms on my phone, each two minutes apart. First one is very quiet, and often doesn't even wake me. The second is a bit more noticeable, and the third is much louder.

The only other thing I'd suggest is not using songs you want to listen to outside of your alarm clock. The association with those songs waking you up isn't good for your enjoyment of those songs overall. I'd also recommend instrumentals.

You might also consider using a very calming song as a "wind down and get ready for bed" notification. Most people use alarm clocks to wake up, but hearing a particular song each time you should be getting ready for bed can be helpful as well. It can get you in the mindset that it's time to sleep.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I'll start giving some a try. I'll just add my own here:

It does famously go with everything after all, and this acapella version is particularly suitable for early mornings.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

I don't trust myself to wake up to anything that sounds good or is too soothing, so I never use music. I have an old iPhone 4 set to use the jarring Alarm sound, works quite well. I have subsequent alarms set to more soothing alarm sounds, something called constellation I think, but yeah never music.

I stopped caring about slipknot a couple albums ago, but (sic) always gets the blood pumping.
