WaPo: Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian foreign minister

Russians must be fucking gloating. Isolating US from allies and pretty much walking into the WH and get classified info by just asking.

GOP:"hey it's all good"

There is no way a large segment of the Republican Party in congress is not complicit in any of the Russia stuff. No. Fucking. Way.

Arrest all republicans.

Yup. I think he's doing this on purpose, too. Someone has pulled him aside at some point and explained to him why doing this is a bad thing. It hurts our ability to gather intelligence and it goes hand in hand with his war on the intelligence community. He's trying to make America weaker.
Indeed. This is terrible on multiple levels. But unfortunately it's all in the hands of idiots like McCain at this point, who refuses to do anything despite having nothing to lose and the Idiot-In-Chief having personally insulted him directly during the election. I just don't get that man...

So, need-to-know information.

A: Trump thought the Russians needed to know it.
B: Trump is a fucking idiot.
C: Both.

D: Russian officials were instructed to antagonize/butter up/manipulate Trump in order to get him to brag about information they were interested in. Trump, who can't even help himself from taking every bait possible on twitter, bites hard.

Checking out for a bit. Expect to come back to a hot mess of a thread with people calling for impeachment, Repubs hiding from the press and dodging questions, Twitter rants from Donald and Spicer hiding in the bushes.

This is another time to say as Chris Hayes once said of Marco Rubio and is applicable to all Republicans, "if your life depends on Marco Rubio Republicans having a spine, you are already dead."

- The President and his campaign are under investigation by the FBI for colluding with Russia.
- The President demands a loyalty test and fires the head of the FBI, the head of the investigation. Then threatens him to try and make him not talk.
- The NSA advisor was forced to resign for his connections to Russia
- The Attorney General was forced into recusing himself (LOL yeah right) for his ties to Russia
- The President gets a law firm to write a certified letter saying he has no financial ties to Russia. The law firm was named top Russian law firm of 2016.
- President discloses highly classified intel to Russian foreign minister.

This isn't smoke its a full blown fire.

Updates for the latest events.

Why the fuck is Fox always the last to report on Shit like this?

it's a real head-scratcher

What if the intel was provided by our moles inside ISIS?

As I understand the story:

- Unidentified partner nation (not the US) develops source inside ISIS
- Shares intelligence from this source with the US intelligence community under previous sharing agreements (this is not a daily thing for security reasons, you wait until the source has something that is actionable in the now or near-future)
- Intel goes up the chain to the President, presumably because it requires a decision for action
- President shares this with Russia, exposing the source primarily to Russian interference (e.g. misinformation, turning, exposing in exchange for prisoners etc.)
- This is brushed off as the president's legal right, which puts the aforementioned sharing agreements in a whole new light for partner nations with at-risk sources.

Why the fuck is Fox always the last to report on Shit like this?

It shatters their carefully crafted pro-Trump, pro-Republican narrative. They just need time to figure out how to spin it in way that's least damaging to the GOP.

My guess is they'll just go with the 'we need to find the leaker!' angle again.

Guys, the "declassifying on the spot" thing isn't nearly as relevant as you think - it's a bit of a red herring. The only thing that can actually happen to the President is impeachment, which does not require him to do something that is illegal at all. Impeachment on "High Crimes" involves dereliction of executive duties.

Told my listeners I'll wait 48hrs on the Trump-Russia intel story to see if this too gets retracted. But I know one of the sources. Credible

Leahy can't / won't believe this WaPo report before he gets info from own sources and colleagues. I guess he just doesn't want to admit to himself that Trump would be this huge moron?

lol the White House is like a bad sitcom on repeat.

Yea. It's clear people close as hell to Trump are now leaking these things.

I bet shit is crazy on the inside.

Like the goddamn Führerbunker I bet. He must not trust anyone except Ivanka at this point.

I want some low level staffer to get him screaming at the tv on video. Periscope the next meltdown.

I bet there's like one sane person in there who is going to write the craziest fucking book about all this when it's done. Hopefully it'll be allowed to be published in America by then

It's actually a very smart move. He's luring the Russians into a false sense of trust. This way he can tell them anything and they'll believe it. He's operating on a plane above the rest of us, especially the Dems. They're just not seeing the bigger plan and it's embarrassing.

I don't know how stupid Trump can actually be. He complains about the Russian story not dying, but this stupidass keeps shooting himself in the knee. This is the worst time for him to do such a thing.
Even if he was intelligent at one time... which is open for debate... he is clearly mentally incompetent now at age 70.
I would sooner trust classified information in the hands of Barron Trump over his father.
