Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite Gameplay Trailer

Also trailer combos while flashy and can seem long, are hardly ever optimized. Those trailer combos could be garbage due to scaling.

Trailer combos are almost always very basic compared to what is discovered post release. Not sure why you are assuming a Marvel game will have shorter, stronger combos upon release as opposed to flashy, longer combos. I agree with dahbomb that if they are trying to cater even more to casual audiences, this is a strange way of doing it.
 
I had a friend tell me that people are down on including X? WTF why? Is there Megaman vs X beef now?
I was against his inclusion since Vanilla MvC3. TvC did Mega Man representation right with 3 characters each from a different series. We already had Zero, the original and better X design.
I wanted either classic Mega Man (who was probably too cute for most), or MegaMan.EXE (who was too new/not nostalgic for most).

And give me Lynn, dammit.

I didn't want to do Capcom side wishlist since I know it's disappointment all around (Zack & Wiki, Sissel, Akira/Shoma, Date Masamune).
 
Im sorry but the no assists feature takes a lot from the game. Im mean the 3 on 3, assists and over the top combo system made the game really chaotic, but at the same time frantic... ill wait and see on this one.

EDIT:Hmmmmmm...from the playstation interview today it almost sounds like infinity stones change your moveset tools not just buffs but perhaps like MKXL or Melty Blood special or normal changes. They talk about depth late in it they talk about "infinite possibilities" to movesets and how you can do MORE now than ever in movesets in this system than the assist one.

Dunno what they're actually getting at, but it sounds a lot like different stones may individually affect how each character's tools and movesets work and not just their "comeback buff" like when we saw the teleport dashing and wallbouncing.
 
No they specifically said Capcom Japan staff that date back to the original X-Men and Marvel games.... would seem they're developing the game internally. But then they tried to say the same about SFV... when Dimps was still very much involved.

Probably just means there's some veterans as supervisors, which is pretty much the case of most Capcom games...

To me that sounds exactly like MSH vs SF, check it if you havent but it different gems changed properties differently for each character. Juggernaut gets hyper armor with a gem which gave super armor to others, time stone allowed for infinites and really long loops through normal cancels on some characters while it just gave a great movespeed buff, etc. To me seeing that description, it means that this game is just MSH2+ tag in combos from SFxT.
 
It looks good to me so far. Dumbing it down and going to 2 characters instead of 3 is a bit disappointing. Same for assists potentially being out, while I never used them, they seemed a vital tool for high level play. That aside, I'm looking forward to this, especially the story mode.
 
Till the team is more clear on their direction and finalize stuff I'll just stick to excited character wishing and smiling at how fun the combat looks.
 
Hey guys. It's hard for me to do DPs or Critical arts in SFV on my pad. I hope the season 2 update adds one button DPs/Supers, or better yet, remove them all together.

I'm wondering if switching in combo cost meter or something. Maybe we can switch off non combo moves. Example Iron man does uni beam tag to cover a tri dash from Captain Marvel.
 
I liked what I saw yesterday. The style/graphics definitely need to be fine-tuned though. It looks very much in prototype phase.

I'm pretty excited about this, largely because we know the game will have MCU relevant characters in it, so no more Shula-Goraths and Blackhearts. And with the exclusion of FF and X-Men characters, the Marvel side will be injected with new characters. I can't wait to see how this develops. Marvel will finally be getting a fighter that's on Injustice's level.

Series didn't start with MvC3...at least you'll wait to reserve judgement. Lotta ppl on this board have already decided and we seen a very early build foe 40 seconds.
 
Yeah, I would be okay if they are going to recycle a lot of animations if we are pushing for big roster.

I hope the fact that capcom highlighted moves and entire supers that were clearly recycled is an indication of a big roster and not just cheapness. having a roster that's both small and rehashed would be next level greedy and lazy, but that's not farfetched
 
2v2, no assists, SFxT tag assault bull crap, stiff Injustice tier animations...

They put SFxT in Marvel. Man this is not good at all.

You do realize that the first "versus" crossover game was 2v2 without assists? Sounds like Capcom is try to return to the series roots. I had a lot of fun with XvsSF and this one will probably be fun too.

I can absolutely understand why hardcore fans would be upset with the change in direction, but I personally am interested to see what this new style is going to bring. I just want more info immediately.

This. Also, as someone that recently got into the meat of fighting games, I have a larger fascination with neutral over constant advantage. Touch of death combos don't strike my fancy much, so I appreciate things being toned down a bit. Hoping for the best here!

There was no question. MVC3 and SFIV weren't good games imo. They were games for a starving audience that would take anything.
I'm still 100% that the biggest buzz kill for me personally would be returning back to ABCS button scheme.


Please please please. At least make it ABCD and stop having a single button to launch. Might as well make it rising thunder /rant.

Partially the biggest thing that keeps me from being interested. This too will lack the ridiculous openness of MVC2. But it's whatever. People prefer Eighting's Marvel-lite design. This is the world we live in, I will have to accept it, move on and play other games.
