Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite Gameplay Trailer

Using SFxT gameplay as an insult is absurd to me. If MvCI borrows from SFxT, that would be a straight blessing.
Agreed. No assists (even assist characters like MvC1) would be a bummer if they don't change their mind though. But I have a feeling they haven't showed off all the systems yet.

That's a good writeup.

They have basically made this game for casuals. They wouldn't even commit to a 6-button layout, said they want this game to be just as playable a controller.

Well, there it is. That's an interesting strategy. :P

You mean like MvC3? Or would you rather MvC2? Those werent 6 button fighters either, they were 4 buttons and 2 assists.

Hopefully this is one of those games that gets negative attention to start, but ends up being amazing. I have to say, personally, I'm not feeling this at all. Don't like the 2v2. Don't like the gem system. Don't like the art style. Reminds me too much of SFxT.

I hope you don't meant visually reminds you of SFXT because if so... You should go look at some screens if SFxT

Is there a reason people can't say

NOW: "I'm not feeling this for reason _______"

LATER: "Ah, I see they've improved _______ and addressed concerns I had in way ______, my opinion of the game is much improved"

Like maybe we don't want to get too hyperbolic but this footage was put out there for us to judge. People are allowed to say they don't like what they see as long as they aren't SUPER DICKS about it

I mean sure but when we legit have proof that things get better from the same company perhaps lay off a bit? It just feel like people rush to find things to poke at and not like.

Personally I think no assists is a poor choice...but I am willing to see how it plays out.

Its just a personal thing for me lately...I just feel like a lot of people on this board as too quick to be upset about things is all. You can not like things sure...but in most cases there is always a chance some things aren't as bad as you think or can get better. I just don't jive with that "everything sucks" mentality some people seem to have at times. It tanks my own mood.,...I am trying to get better at letting it go...so please bear with me.

Looks promising. Don't think it looks all that bad, besides it's early and we won't be seeing it for another year at the earliest, there will be time for it to look better in the graphics department.

Just hit me that the "Infinite" name probably relates to Infinity War stuff. Dunno why I didn't think of that right away.

Since this game is about the gems, doesn't that basically guarantee that Thanos from MsH is going to be in it?

That and it uses Infinity Gems.

The one thing that bothers me the most is lighting and that'll change no doubt.

I just really want to get my hands on the game before I can make any actual judgments about gameplay but as of now, I'm not that impressed.

What's the right way to react though if you legit don't like what you see? Like I think anyone saying the game will be trash guaranteed is being too quick but if you liked MvC for 3v3 gameplay with call-in assists and then a trailer and preview gets released that confirms the game is 2v2 with no assists, are you not allowed to be upset/disappointed? This a pretty big gameplay change that will delight some people and turn off others. Again people shouldn't be super dicks about it but I feel that most people aren't being super dicks about it? I dunno.

The minute I read the topic Enzo made I knew the gems would be like grooves. Anyway, no hype lost from this trailer. Can't wait to see more.

what are you even saying at this point? more attack buttons doesn't make a fighting game deep

More buttons mean more attack options. More options means more complexity but they also add depth because there's more to learn and implement. Of course that's harder to balance (not that the 3 MvC games make much of a case for balance anyway) but the trade off is worth it in my opinion.

Let's get real: marvel 2 was a fucking mess that got tgrown together without care for balance or design and became a beautiful monster the community created.

MvC3 was the sequel to that, where it was given slightly more design focus and polish.

What capcom needs is for mvcI to be the smash 4 to mvc2's melee.

Keep the competitive depth but expose that to everyone, not make it an accident based on not enough QA and bug testing.

I can see it working. The marvel series has dug it's way too far down this rabbit hole of crazy mixups and infinites and combos that require dozens of hours of practice to memorize.

Reigning that in a little bit might not be so bad. If thry don't go too far and turn it into a really simple game.

fair enough.

like I said I need to get better at this so...bear with me.

I know I'm in the minority, but I like the non-comic-shaded style so much more. All models look great except for X's creepy fixed eyes.

Would people be happy if instead of a MVC2/3-esque assist system, we got a MvC1-like helper, with many dedicated assist characters?

Probably also controversial, but I fully agree. I'm sick of playing Marvel by myself or online (whereas most of my friends are always down for SFIV). Hopefully they make it more approachable, and being on PC should give it more exposure too (again, my friends play on PC).

I wish they would do that as a way to include more characters from both universes. Maybe the reality gem allows an assist? That would be cool. One assist for each character.

Not sure why everyone's worried about the gameplay. That's the one thing Capcom always gets right.

LMAO

I remember trying to play UMVC3 for the first time some months ago... IHaveNoIdeaWhatIAmDoing.jpg

Don't feel bad. MvC3 was the game where if someone got a lucky first hit on me I had more than enough time to throw a pizza in the oven and start my laundry before I got to control my second character.

I really like the look, I'll keep my eye on the gameplay changes. We're getting a new Marvel vs Capcom. Someone is paying for this other wise it would be stuck in limbo like Dark Stalkers. Thanks Marvel!
