Final Fantasy XV Judgment Disc demo out now on JPSN & JP Xbox Store

Dude, are you ok?!

Nothing compared to mine

I find very stupid and irritating such a demo is Japan exclusive. I wanna try it, but since I have not so much time because of work, I have no really intention to create a japanase account, messing up with a language I don't know (plus PS4 activation on a japanase account) just to play a demo.

From the other thread.

Not a fan of how aggressive the AA is, it manages to make hair dithering a lot better, but seemingly at the cost of finer detail. It seems like Noctis' hair is shorter in the comparison, because the very end simply disappears. Like he just got a haircut and everything is perfectly uniform.

Probably one of the most substantial graphical and technical turnarounds I've seen in a game in such a short time span. The team knocked it out the park on that front. I hope they use Luminous again for FFXVI. I would say the area in which it disappoints me is the water, but perhaps that's a design choice considering the beach area is a tranquil resort.

Looking forward to seeing Altissia in the final build.

Yeah you can't go wrong with the OG PS4 I just hope the 4K30FPS will be ready for release.

Probably been answered plenty, but I've been on blackout with this game...

I'm surprised to see what appears to be a choice of clothing, I didn't think there would be any kind of visual customization, I know you can change the colour of your car but I thought that would be it.

Are these clothes plot relevant? (disguises? undercover?) or do we actually have control over what the party wears? can clothes be purchased?

I previously heard that the party wearing all black was a part of the games aesthetic, so now I'm confused when I see Noct wearing stuff that looks like golfing attire

I really love the graphics expect for the water. I'm afraid the terrible reflection tech they use will ruin how Altissia will look.

It's just distractingly bad

I'd say the tech could do it better, but unfortunately the current implementation is a victim of the heavy optimization efforts. They just can't run it at full spec.

Man this screen. This screen makes want to explore the shit out of everything.

Yeah, looks awesome.

But are there actually things (worth) to find or is the world only a "scenery"? I didn't play the demo since I don't want to spoil myself too much anymore, but that's one of the last things I fear for the game.
It would be disappointing if the world is big but you actually can't really find something there and just walk and fight through 95% of the map.

Guys, how long the demo? I am now at the beach. (quest)

You are near the end. But the demo region should have enough for you to keep you busy at least 10 hours. Before you give the stone to the journalist make a save so you can go back to that point after completing the demo.

There is a button prompt to move the camera in the forward direction toward what Noct is facing, it's really handy.

I'm guessing this is in combat? Sounds handy. Pity the camera doesn't slowly move to where you're facing in exploration. I'm not expecting Zelda-levels of auto-camera (which would be great too, if you touch the right stick it'll swap to manual mode like in Wind Waker) but just something so I don't have to worry about taking my thumb off the right stick.

Wait. I thought no one wanted Square to use luminous ever again since they're putting all the blame on it for this game and that unreal engine 4 could offer all what Square did in FFXV.

Actually this is only outside of combat when you press R1. Pressing R1 in combat is for locking on.

Yes, you can dress your party as you want and any time you want. The game starts out with their black default outfits, which are called Crown's Guard fatigues (and bring some stat boosts with them) but you can also dress them in casual clothing that is available from the start too (and bring some different stat boosts with them).
Fatigues and casual clothing can both be slightly customized/altered. You can take the jackets of or wear an alternative shirt in Ignis' case.
There are other outfits supposed to come. Apparently they can be bought in in-game shops for Gil, they come with the story or as DLC.

I guess they simply changed their mind. They noticed how big the demand was for alternative clothing and the profit they could make and so they abandoned their silly No other costumes, we got a Roen exclusive contract! and It's super important to the story and stuff that they only wear black! excuses. ;)
