Final Fantasy XV Judgment Disc demo out now on JPSN & JP Xbox Store

Best demo and a vast improvement. I love the pictures Promto takes. Everyone seem to be behaving like they are on a vacation roadtrip though. haha

I'll be funny to see them still behave this way after they discover the news about Isomnia.haha

I'm concerned about the frequent bugs I've been seeing. Isn't this based on the Gold version?

Another thing I noticed is there seems to be a chance to get a critical skill when you use one.

By that I mean instead of the skill name being displayed normally it's instead displayed with a yellow text box and the animation will be different.

Like Prompto's Penetrate skill usually has him twirl the gun above his head and take the shot.

In the critical version he puts his gun away then quick draws it and it seems to do more damage.

Gladio's Tempest skill normally has him do 2 horizontal swings. In the critical version he does 3.

I don't know if it's an actual critical hit chance sort of thing, I'm just calling it that based on how it looks.

Do we know if this build of the game is current? Like, is it the same as retail or the preview builds magazines/review sites got?

Other than the Pro stuff, which obviously is new.

Has it been said if you can play alone without your team mates in the final game ?

I like them but I'd like some moments of peace sometimes.... =(

Technically my only criticism is the poor framerate and i hope the pro version is 60fps. It feels like the game is 20-25fps most of the time, especially the main characters movement, which doesn't look smooth at all.

Is back attack an actual move that you can do consistently? Its in the ratings at the end of fights, but I'm not sure how you can get a good rank with it.

Hit enemies from behind. You may even have "back attack links" and cause extra damage with your allies :)

My dodge and parry timings are so shit. :/ Part of it is because the square prompt is throwing my timing off (I played better with HUD off), but I feel like it's so hard to see everything in mob fights. There's so much going on, and the camera doesn't capture it all. It's also hard to see enemies telegraph their moves sometimes.

Is this guy by the ocean place?

Are there any others like him that have more dialogue/facial animations in the demo?

I think I saw that guy on other videos months ago later in the game so, it's safe to say that he is mores significant than the regular NPCs and that explains the more dialogues/animations just like Cidny.

So no there aren't any NPCs as detailed as him and Cindy.

I have to say, magic is something that's always really important to me in Final Fantasy games, and I hope the Ring Magic has a lot going for it, or there's a lot of nuances to Elemancy we haven't been shown yet, because the implementation there is now feels almost like it's there just to be able to say it is. It really feels like besides maybe some late-game items that might affect crafting a lot or something we've really seen pretty much everything the magic system can do in this demo. Likewise, do the bros besides Noctis really only have like 3 skills of which you can only equip one at a time?

Also, the quality of the map when you zoom in all the way is... Not good.

Ok, done griping for now.

From the other thread.

Here are some new comparisons that I have made from the latest set of PS4 Pro vs. OG PS4.

These GIFs put emphasis on the visuals that are improved on Pro.

First the shadow quality is better, clearly noticeable here.

Secondly, the AA is also greatly improved and the difference is big, I'd say. Characters no longer look hideous in some scenes.

Lastly, the AO, as pointed out earlier, results in better shadows for the indoor scenes. Visible here.

I can't wait for the PS4 Pro enhancements that will be added with day 1 patch. This is still a pretty good result here.

Also here is a PS4 vs. Xbox One comparison.

It's incredibly blurry. That's not what great should be used for.
As someone who played both version of the game, this is wrong. It is not always blurry. It looks pretty good in motion but the screenshots though, some closeups in cutscenes are good while others are hideous and blurry. I expected worse TBH.

Been experimenting with a few weapons versus Gladio and here's what I've found so far.

One handed sword---------------------------------
- O combo = does a series of attacks ending with one horizontal swing that seems to be able to stagger.
- Forward O = Does a fast thrust attack mid combo, combo picks up from the beginning afterwards, pretty much use this towards the end of your O combo to extend it if you don't want to end with the last slash.
- Side O = Downwards slash while moving to the side, has iframes so with proper timing you can dodge an attack while keeping up the offense without moving away from the enemy.
- Back O = Backflip strike that has iframes, hold O afterwards to follow up with a couple strikes. If you hold Back you will do an additional flip with iframes that will put you in the air setting you up to continue with an aerial combo.

- Air O = 3 hit aerial combo, can air step afterwards to continue with another aerial combo provided that you purchased the air step skill for Noctis.

Basically the one handed sword on the ground has decent combo damage and can with proper timing dodge offensively without having to touch the dedicated dodge button. With additional AP skills its combo ability and mobility is increased in the air.

Will post the dagger stuff later.

Say you do 3 hit aerial combo, airstep, and another 3 hit aerial, If you do warp strike in the air afterward will it reset the airstep skill?
