Final Fantasy XV Judgment Disc demo out now on JPSN & JP Xbox Store

gO2vRpf.gif

Takeoff into air combo here is damn smooth. I'm resisting the urge to get this demo, but just barely.

My wait to get pro for Horizon looks like a good move. Seen another poster say performance was good too so great

Performance is overall good on OG PS4. There's some dips here and there but nothing too crazy.

This area is not as detailed as Duscae so I wonder how that one will work.

Right there with you. Watching Small lil battle clips are keeping me at bay for now tho. This guy I found on YouTube was wrecking with the gun and spear back to back so fluidly I was shocked.

Awesome. I just want the actual play experience to be fresh when I boot the game up, even though I've been passively absorbing all related media for years.

1. Pre-ordered PS4 PRO when it was announced
2. Cancelled after lack of information and details around FFXV PRO by both SE and Sony besides assumed 4K and HDR
3. On the fence after the 1080p/60fps announcement
4. Convinced after hearing this demo's PRO feedback

My PRO arrives this Tuesday :)

Any feedback on the HDR guys?

Might hunt for HDR this black friday

I didn't want to play because it's apparently the Whole first chapter. And I jumped around all the videos out there dont know a lick about the cutscenes.

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but since this is close to the final build of the game can anyone tell me about the battle system? Is it still "hold button for auto combo" or have they made it a bit more involved?

That's still in the game. I tried to mash like in every action game, but I gave up after an hour or two.

Noctis does feel smother to control though.

I created a JP account, downloaded the demo on my shiny new PS4Pro, but when I logout of the JP account and back to my main account the demo has a padlock on it and won't let me play.

How do I play it on my real account? Cause I've seen people doing it on my friend list.

Yeah the hold button stuff is still there, but the skill tree opens things up a bit more with some stuff with certain conditions like precisely timed presses and etc.

Go into your JP account settings and set the PS4 as your primary. :)

Is there a particular area or quest that has a lot of monsters to mess around with the battle system?

You can fiddle around with the battle system by fighting with Gladio at camp.

That, or you can just run around and find monsters to fight. If you want a real challenge you can either fight daemons at night, or go fight the level 38 Bandersnatch NE of Hammerhead.

Just browsing through some old FFXV stuff... we have come so far...

Edit:
Also while browsing: The most recent shot of Altissia they have released is the very same screenshot they have relesead earlier in June this year. I wonder if anything has changed since then. The waterfalls could use a little more tweaking.

All done, thanks. I saw it ask me that but I thought it would steal the primary status from my main account. Good that you can set it to primary for multiple users.

Game is really beautiful

Man, I spent the past 2 days just playing the Judgement Demo relentlessly and I got to say, its going to be so fucking hard to wait 15 more days for this to come. This demo was literally everything I needed to remind myself why I want this game so much, it does a lot of things so well that makes it a unique experience for me.

- Combat: For me, the combat couldn't get any better than what I'm experiencing right now. I know a lot of people complain about it being weird, but honestly I think its the most refreshing combat I've ever experienced in a long time. Its not your usual combat where you hit and dodge things repeatedly, there are so many things you can take advantage of during the fight. Mixing things and trying new combos is always fun for me and the more I indulge with the system the more it actually surprises me. I can't wait to fully upgrade Noctis's skills and see what he's capable of doing late in game. Its the kind of system that's easy to use but hard to master, I am liking it a lot so far.

- Party banter/conversations: Honestly, I didn't think the characters would be so talkative in this game, I can't understand much of what they're saying but the things I did understand were interesting and quiet funny. I love the JP voice acting and how natural it sounds, so I am definitely going to play my first walk through in Japanese. Also, Prompto singing the FF victory song was so cute, I love that.

- Mobhunts: They were awesome, I really enjoyed going around and hunting monsters. the only thing I didn't like is that you only get to do one at a time, which I think is stupid but its fine I can tolerate that.

- Prompto's photos: I never knew I wanted this so much until now. I just LOVE how you can view all the photos at the end of the day and how the characters react to it, it feels very nice and natural and I can totally buy into this road trip theme more. Its perfect!

- Radio: Seriously, the radio is fucking awesome, I just love driving around listening to classic FF songs.

- OST: Top tier.

- The opening: Yes, I like it, and I like it a lot. While most people prefer some over the top opening or the Insomnia invasion, I am really glad they went with a more mellow and simple way to start the game. The whole CGI scene pulled at my heartstrings after seeing Kingsglaive and its after math, that scene was so sad in a lot of ways and honestly I liked how they handled it. Sure, it might have been more shocking or hype filled had it been the invasion scene but honestly starting small and gradually building up from there doesn't seem like a bad idea to me.

With that said there are some things I didn't really like about the game, but that's fine since there is nothing 100% perfect.
- Camera: Its literally the worst thing about the combat right now, its so weird and most of the time it feels like it has a mind of its own. I really hope day 1 patch fix this because it can really ruin some fights for me.

- Lock on: I think its really dumb how I need to press 2 buttons to get a hard lock-on and need to do this with every mob.

- Bugs/glitches: Need I say more?

Anyway, the wait for 29th of Nov is going to be so so so hard.

Sums up my experience with the demo perfectly! I also had an issue with attack being circle and dodge being square, but that's just me and I'm sure there will be controllee lay outs. The lock on thing is ridiculous.

Seriously, I'm the only one with an OG PS4 that this demo makes the console insanely loud?

Tried other games just in case and it works as always, somethimes the fans ramps up and it calms down. But with XV fan seems to keep going always at 100%. It's the first game I see this. I even moved the console to a wide empty area and it's still the same.

I know people will not find it easy to believe me but my PS4 is really quiet... I guess I must be lucky.

It's a performance heavy game, your PS4 is working hard.

Why it's loud should be because of the console itself, maybe check thermal paste?

I'm quite surprised how quiet my Pro is, can't even hear it while playing the demo.

Beginning such a big budget, high profile title with "hold R2 indefinitely" to move scripted event along? And immediately followed by the most embarrasing female representation since Quiet. Bleh.

Gameplay impression is a Japanese DAI with the story tone of FF 13.

Thing is, my PS4 is usually one of these quiet ones. Right now I'm playing coop in DS3 and it runs pretty silent.

It's the first time I hear my PS4 struggin like this. That's why I was asking if it's a common thing for everyone with a regular PS4 and this game.

I understand, it's just strange how this game makes such a difference compared to the other games I have.

I can't check thermal paste.... well, I can but I suck at it and I don't want to risk it lol

Maybe I'm in the minority but I like it.

FF8 started with waking up in bed and going to class, and then you ended somehow time traveling and fighting aliens in space. It's my favourite FF :p

You're not in the minority. It's only been praised when mentioned in previews.

It sets the tone and it's going to resonate for years to come. Reminds me of the intro cutscene in FFVI as they head to Narshe. Part of why it works well is because this is a very expensive game but the first real action is something so simple.
