Final Fantasy XV Judgment Disc demo out now on JPSN & JP Xbox Store

KU6000 here.

HDR is awesome, is supposed to look like that, super bright, just like a sunny day of summer.

yeah but the road is almost full on WHITE I CANT STARE AT THE SUN mode, i mean its like, REALLY REALLY white.

is that normal? It depends how the camera is btw, if i rotate it it gets a bit less bright and not a ghostroad

Is the HDR option only for pro? I have an OG PS4 and a 4K tv but my HDR option is greyed out.

Also, I see people changing outfits. How are they doing this? None of the menu options seem to be allowing me to do that.

Looks like their TAA is able to cover the hair pretty consistently on Pro even when Noct moves. Do all of your high quality Pro mode shots ever come out with hair dithering like this?

Yeah, the antialiasing solution on the Pro works pretty well. It's a bit aggressive though and the image has an a bit blurry feel. But it's better than anything I had hoped for. I'd take this 1080p mode with a good aa solution anytime over a 4k checkerboard mode that will probably not have all the graphical enhancements. I hope this HQ mode makes it into the final game too. I find it strange that they so far never mentioned it and it surprised everyone in the demo. They only ever talked about 4k checkerboard, 30fps and 1080, 60fps.

Hair dithering is less pronounced in the HQ mode but it is not completely gone. It's imo perfectly bearable though.

The IQ is not as bad as Duscae but still way too rough for my tastes, and there's no aniso on textures which worsen the effect...

I feel the game could've been goty material if the engine did not feel so mediocre.

Are you playing on Xbox?

I'm on standard PS4 and the IQ is up there with some of the best TAA + 1080p console titles. Outside of some inconsistencies in the hair their TAA coverage works extremely well in getting rid of subpixel aliasing. It's been looking pretty clean and crisp on my TV

Yeah I don't get it, I've played it on both Pro and OG PS4 and the IQ is very good on both.

Yep surprised at how good is the IQ on regular PS4. The only problem I have with the graphics is the really low LOD on distant rocks (I don't know how the PRO fares in that regard)

Well, that and my PS4 being extemely noisy (considering mine is usually quieter than the usual).

Things just probably got lost in translation. If they started working on a high quality mode that improves texture filtering then I think we can expect more to come on that mode in addition to 4k mode and 60fps mode. One of the translators mentioned there would be graphical improvements in addition to 60fps, but it's looking more like these are two separate modes given how the lightweight-mode feels smoother but looks like OG PS4.

It's really fun there are some slight issues and I think for me some of the issues have to do with not understanding the language I am playing in.

Honestly I'm massively surprised. I expected this to be totally broken and to not play very well, but this demo made it a must have for me.

I was gonna buy the Pro now but I'll wait a few weeks in case they do a FFXV bundle for Spain. Only bundle I saw for now was Infamous First Light which I have no interest in.

Played it for about 20 minutes, it's not for me. The combat still doesn't feel right to me, to the point where I wasn't having any fun playing the demo.

That build was lacking the supposed day one patch though. When they showed the game in September it already looked way better.

That 2 month delay was the best thing that could happen. Even if the day one patch would have been ready in september.

But showing off that august build was pretty much calling for such reactions.

That's impressive, OG PS4 doing work.

I would say give it a bit more time. I felt the same was (the O and X being different because it's Japanese was really throwing me off) but after about an hour I had a decent grasp of things.

That's a miraculous turnaround from where things stood just a few months ago.

Game still needs work / teeaking in a few areas.

First of all the camera is attrocious when you are aroung vegetation and trees. These things that obscure your line of view should fade away like it happens in every decent game out thrre. I cant believe that Tabata and his team dont see how bad the camera is in these situations.

Another thing they should take care is framepacing. Its really bad in some places and takes away from the experience.

Also auto lock option should be in the game as well as an option for camera to follow the character when he is changing directions automatically (just for when you are sprinting).

Played about 30 minutes of the demo, I really like the game but damn I can't understand anyshit and that's putting me off.

will get back to it later tho.

Oh and the visuals are very nice on base ps4, looks much better than the platinum demo.

My biggest issue with the combat system is how it lacks the snappyness of other ARPG's like Ys or KH, every move your character delivers takes forever to actually land to the point that it almost feels like I'm playing the game with severe input lag (which is not the case).
I mean, a lot of people seem to enjoy it so it's probably something wrong on my end but I don't think I'll manage to get into the full game at all.

And yes, I'm aware of easy mode but I'd much rather play it using the default ARPG settings.

I went back and played the duscae demo, thinking of how inferior it would compare itself, but apart from its lack of team attack and small environment, it holds up pretty well. The fighting isn't as free but its still enjoyable to play.

Good thing I don't know what frame pacing means, I remember people complaining about how it ruined bloodborne for them while I was having a blast :p.

Thanks. Are there lists of other guy's secret weapons?

As far as I know the only secret weapons are the bioblaster and a fire-enchanted greatsword.
