Rockstar website's code sort of reveals 2 upcoming RDR games

Please noooo

I waited 5 years for a remaster and people said it was never happening

Are you telling me i played that awful ps3 version for nothing

Dude i bought a Xbox 360 just for this one game.

Worst decision ever. Should have just went with the inferior PS3 version and be done with it.

Red Dead Redemption is one of those games that has almost unlimited replay value. I've played through it probably a dozen times since day 1 release and I've never gotten remotely bored of it.

Play it again (if this is true.....and that's a big if) when released.

If this all turns out to be true it'll be the third copy of RDR I'll own (have it for both PS3 and 360) and I'll happily pay full price for it too.

What if it is a remaster and sequel
of Undead Nightmare?

YES PLEASE! Undead Nightmare was a fucking blast to play, if not a little short.

actually, you can tell from the screenshot that they were not in the source or you would have a line number on the right hand side like this:

instead you see the source is the same as the url which suggests the poster just went to those URLs and got a 404

No, you don't for such link errors in Chrome dev tools. (there's a similar error example on this very thread page that doesn't give line number)

Yes, you do -- where do you think my screenshot is from? There may not be a line number, but there is always a source. In the reddit screenshot, that source is the page giving the 404 not the games list it was allegedly generated from

Feels like the existence of the next Red Dead game has been an open secret for a year or more now, still hyped though.

Also, I can't seem to find the article now, but I'm sure I read an interview with someone on the RDR team who basically said the code for the game is held together with string and chewed gum, which I think was the reason he gave at the time for why they hadn't brought it to PC(PS4/XBone?) which makes me skeptical of a remaster, though I have little understanding of the process of porting/remastering, so I'm still hopeful. A PC port would be especially appreciated ;)

How about Agent still being a thing on their site though?

There's a distinction to make between a game that has been formally cancelled and a game that is long assumed to have been cancelled. Agent falls into the latter group.

I think we can take for granted they have a next gen 'cowboy simulator' in late stages of development. I don't think it's inconcievable they rebuilt the old game into their new tech instead of doing a straight port.

Hmm, yeah you're right. So are you saying he's lying? I thought the error being in the dev tool console in his screenshot suggested that they were links in the source code.

If the remaster is true... Then it better include Undead Nightmare, that was some of the best DLC I have ever played.

If they remaster it and make it where you can go First person like GTAV remaster, take all my pellets now

I guess this is Take Two's 'big E3 presence'.

Everyone that follows R* saw RDR3 coming as their next game, but I am genuinely surprised at the remaster.

I'm pretty sure, from as objective a standpoint as one can allow for judging art, that Red Dead Redemption is the greatest game of all time. It's not even my favorite game, not nearly. But I'm pretty sure it is the best game that has ever been made, at least of the many, many games that I've played in the last three decades. As I said in another thread, any remaster will be a must-purchase for me on day one. I'd pay sixty dollars for it and be cool with it, frankly.

Still holding out for that PC remaster after all these years. Hopefully if it happens, it is worth the wait after all these years

Just bought Red Dead Redemption a few months ago on sale. Now I wonder if I wasted my money and should have just waited for the Remaster. I doubt in playing the 360 version anytime soon anyway.

It is impossible to waste money buying RDR. Play it to your heart's content.

I really need to know how that reddit post proved anything?

error 404, isn't that an error that says the page does not exist..like it never even had to exist? or what?

It wasn't intended to prove anything, and the 404 itself isn't all that meaningful. It's the fact that the source of the page had links to resources for game ID's 11 and 112 triggering errors in the page in the developer tools, and if you followed those links, they displayed 404 errors. It's basically hypothesizing that these resource IDs belong to a future RDR related title, since game_id's 11 and 112 would place two entries in the list, ordered right there with RDR and RDR:UN.

If this gets announced I could care less about anything else at e3.

Rockstar would take the wind out of all other announcements.

I tried playing RDR when it came out and it didn't appeal to me at all...however if a remaster were to come out I would more than likely give it another go.

Did you read the whole Reddit post?

Because I did, and I still have no fucking idea how this proves anything beyond a very hopeful stab in the dark.

Yeah it's pretty typical fan subreddit straw-grasping. We've seen plenty of similar stuff on Half Life subreddits that never comes to fruition so for now I think....

If a remaster/sequel were announced at E3, I really wouldn't care about any other announcement. It would top the FFVII:R announcement from last year for me, and FFVII is the first RPG I ever played and one of my top 3 favorite games.

I thought I'd read that RDRs code was such a mess that it couldn't really be ported without as monumental effort?

Will buy both if true, I'd kill for RDR on PC.

I literally just beat RDR again last week (FINALLY GOT THE 100% COMPLETION ACHIEVEMENT!!!)

I would gladly pay more $ for a remastered version

I get what you're saying, I think. Do you think this is pretty much all fake, or what?

You are playing with my emotions by putting this thought out there.
