first time I play, Pharrah is fun as heck

good thing I pre-ordered

Pharah is my #1. I love the feel of the rocket and conc shot. You can really fuck the team up if you stay above most of the time and the fact that rockets actually bounce people made me think DooM MP rockets were in a sad state.

I've only played like 45 minutes now, but decided to take a break to say this is exactly what I've been wanting. It really is TF3.

I've put in about 10 hours in the last beta and don't think it's anything like TF2. There are definitely some similar mechanics and borrowed ideas, but it's way more focused on the objective than TF2 is. In TF2, you can log into a Turbine or 2Fort server and do whatever you want for hours on end. You can't do that in Overwatch.

I've been playing TF2 regularly since 2008 and it doesn't scratch the same itch that TF2 does, in my opinion. I enjoy Overwatch, but I'll still be waiting a lifetime for TF3 to do what TF2 does.

Am I an idiot? I redeemed my code, but nowhere in the client does it prompt me to install it..tried restarting battle.net and even reinstalling it.

Good point. Team Fortress is still Team Fortress. We might be old men by the time we see another sequel to that.

I disagree. Outside of the art, the major difference is definitely cooldowns and specials. The game types and being objective based is what reminds me of TF2 so much. I just played as some character that plays identical to Demoman lol. This reminds me of TF2 when it was first released and players were actually communicating and working together to achieve the objective. Now its hats and doing your own thing. I hope it doesn't change for Overwatch.

I tweeted Blizzard customer support a picture of the "BATTLE.NET: Failed to connect to Gamer Server. Please try again later." message with my ps4 controller under the TV screen. I'm desperate.

The only positive thing I can say about any of this is the pop-up dialog box asks you to press x to continue . One thing that really bugs me is when I experience a computer error and the dialog box prompts me to press "Okay". No. It's not okay. it's never okay

PS. nice avatar hydruxo :)

Yeah, but having characters with grenade launchers or "mediguns" are just parts of TF2, and there are other games that share these mechanics, too. Community servers are part of what makes TF2 great, and is a good way to circumvent playing matches with more cohesive teams than playing on Valve servers. Plus, the chaos that 32-man matches in TF2 brings is unparalleled.

Holy shit this game is so much fun!

Can you only get the ingame currency by buying it with real money or can you also get them by playing?

While I wait for PS4 servers anyone playing on Xbox have any console impressions? I know we've seen some from the press but I wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts.

Yes so this. What exactly is the trick to taking down a Bastion... ? As a noob, it feels impossible lol. Anyone?

Switch to a character that can deal with him, like hanzo, widow, or roadhog.

It is straight up impossible to beat him 1v1 with certain characters (for example, winston :( )

Was hoping to get a match or two in before heading to bed but I don't see these PS4 servers coming back up for a while.

Thank god I'm off work tomorrow so my Overwatch binge can still happen.

So far in-game currency is only earned in-game. Whether or not it'll be monetized in the future is yet to determined.

Oh great, I was asking because I finished two games and still have 0 gold

I loathe 32 man servers. It's too chaotic. Overwatch feels crazy, but isn't overwhelming with 12 demoman using grenade launchers lol. I love TF2 and have played around 2k hours and still play til this day. If you wanna play sometime send me a PM.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that was one of the most fun games I've had of multi!

I've been trying mainly offence characters, tried Reinhart? The shield guy and OMG! Amazing.

Had 8.2K damage blocked, 20+ assists. So satisfying.

Haven't had this much fun with an online FPS since TF2 first released.

If this has remotely the same level of longevity (and I definitely assume it will because Blizzard pushes their games to insane levels) then this is easily going to be one of the best experiences in recent history. My pre-order is pretty much vindicated.
